How Christ Fulfilled the Law

The wise man, King Solomon, says that the conclusion of the whole matter lies in keeping the commandments of God. It is the whole duty of man. Pastor Shelem Flemons has then fittingly provided a broad study of God’s Ten Commandments in a way possibly few would expect. Every serious student of Scripture will benefit from the reading. Words of Encouragement

For Heaven’s Sake…

His mother hid and nursed him for three months. When she could no longer hide him, she made an ark of bulrushes, waterproofed it, and placed Moses in it near the bank of the river. His sister, Miriam, watched it.

When the daughter of Pharaoh saw it and ordered that it be brought to her, she felt compassion. Miriam stepped up and offered to call a nurse of the Hebrew women to nurse the child for Pharaoh’s daughter. Permission was granted. Thus, Pharaoh’s daughter paid the mother of Moses to nurse him. This she did until she had to return him to the palace. Pharaoh’s daughter gave him the name Moses, because he was drawn from the water.

This same Moses murdered an Egyptian, who was beating an Hebrew. When it became known, Moses fled to Midian and sat by a well. There he met seven daughters of the priest and prince of Midian. They came to draw water for their father’s flock. But shepherds drove them away. Moses defended them and watered their flock. Therefore, their father, Reuel, took him in to live with them. He gave to Moses his daughter Zipporah, with whom Moses fathered two sons.

When the Pharaoh of Egypt died along with all those who wanted Moses dead, God called Moses to return to Egypt to bring out the children of Israel with a mighty hand. He heard the voice of God, but only saw fire. The call came through a burning bush that miraculously was not being consumed. It is a fitting symbol of Jesus, who hid his divinity in humanity, says Pastor Flemons.

Growing up in Egypt, Moses had been given the highest civil and military training in preparation to succeed the throne of his adoptive grandfather. This training and education, however, helped prepare him as the future deliverer of God’s people. Nevertheless, when called to deliver God’s people, Moses felt inadequate and slow of speech. He no longer spoke the Egyptian language with ease. He asked to be relieved of the responsibility. This lack of trust angered God. But God allowed Moses to have Aaron, his brother, to assist in the deliverance. God would speak to Moses. Moses would speak to Aaron. Aaron would speak to the people.

God laid out the plan of deliverance to Moses, including the plagues that would be necessary to convince the Pharaoh to finally let them go. God turned the staff of Moses into a snake and back into a rod again. God turned the hand of Moses leprous and then back to normal. Moses needed to know the immediate and present power of God. He must be able to more than compete with the magicians of Egypt. Signs and wonders would be necessary to convince the ungodly Egyptians that God is more powerful than their magic. Even the Israelite elders needed confirmation that God had indeed sent Moses. But God instructed that He only be introduced to them as I AM.

“The divine command given to Moses found him self-distrustful, slow of speech, and timid. He was overwhelmed with a sense of his incapacity to be a mouthpiece for God to Israel. But having once accepted the work, he entered upon it with his whole heart, putting all his trust in the Lord. The greatness of his mission called into exercise the best powers of his mind. God blessed his ready obedience, and he became eloquent, hopeful, self-possessed, and well fitted for the greatest work ever given to man. This is an example of what God does to strengthen the character of those who trust Him fully and give themselves unreservedly to His commands.PP 255.1

A man will gain power and efficiency as he accepts the responsibilities that God places upon him, and with his whole soul seeks to qualify himself to bear them aright. However humble his position or limited his ability, that man will attain true greatness who, trusting to divine strength, seeks to perform his work with fidelity. Had Moses relied upon his own strength and wisdom, and eagerly accepted the great charge, he would have evinced his entire unfitness for such a work. The fact that a man feels his weakness is at least some evidence that he realizes the magnitude of the work appointed him, and that he will make God his counselor and his strength.PP 255.2″

For Health’s Sake…

Because thorough mastication of foods before they enter the digestive tract is key to digestive health, dental and oral health is of tremendous importance. Therefore, Pastor Flemons recommends oil pulling three to four times weekly for best results. The antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal coconut oil is best. Coconut oil is also great, because it is highly absorbable.

Oil pulling is one of the best ways to remove bacteria and promote healthy teeth and gums. It loosens plaque and tartar. And toxins are literally sucked out of your mouth simply by swooshing a tablespoon of oil in your mouth for 10-20 minutes and spitting it out (preferably into a trashcan, to prevent clogging any plumbing). The benefits are huge, as oil pulling

  • cures tooth decay,
  • kills bad breath,
  • heals bleeding gums,
  • prevents heart disease,
  • reduces inflammation,
  • whitens teeth,
  • soothes throat dryness,
  • prevents cavities,
  • heals cracked lips,
  • boosts the immune system,
  • improves acne, and
  • strengthens gums and jaw.

For an aching tooth, Pastor Flemons recommends rubbing clove oil on it. Use a Q-tip to apply it. It numbs the gum. It is also an antiseptic.

Another remedy is applying a charcoal poultice. Using one teaspoon of hot water, one teaspoon of flaxseed, mix a bit of activated charcoal in a small bowl. Roll the mixture into gauze and tie it up at both ends with thread that has been dipped with hydrogen peroxide. Affix the gauze at the affected tooth. This can pull out infection from a tooth as well.

Bacteria is a major problem. Poor dental health can affect other parts of the body. Migraines are sometimes the result of an infected tooth.

Pastor Flemons likes to brush his teeth with a powder mixture made from equal parts of bentonite clay, activated charcoal and diatomaceous earth. Activated charcoal or bentonite clay can be used alone for brushing the teeth. And he recommends having mercury fillings professionally removed to help eliminate toxins from the body.

The next discussion will primarily focus on sore throats.
