Words of Encouragement

2 Corinthians 1:3-5  Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

Psalm 97:10 Ye that love the Lord, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.

For Heaven’s Sake…

Do essentially these two things:

One. Repent to the extent of the injury.

Two. Never add sin to sin.

David’s first mistake was in lingering his gaze upon the body of Bathsheba. His next mistake was in sending for her. His next mistake was in committing adultery with her. His next mistake was in trying to cover up her pregnancy and setting up what was supposed to be an intimate encounter with her husband on leave from the battlefield. His next mistake was in ordering Uriah’s death on the battlefield when all else failed.

Be sure your sins will be exposed, when you have refused to repent. David missed multiple opportunities all along the way for repentance. The problem began, however, long before the day David watched Bathsheba bathe. The surrounding nations had exerted an influence for evil. Crimes that would not be tolerated among the common people were not even condemned among kings; such is the tendency today. This lessened the “exceeding sinfulness of sin” to David.

“And instead of relying in humility upon the power of Jehovah, he began to trust to his own wisdom and might. As soon as Satan can separate the soul from God, the only Source of strength, he will seek to arouse the unholy desires of man’s carnal nature. The work of the enemy is not abrupt; it is not, at the outset, sudden and startling; it is a secret undermining of the strongholds of principle. It begins in apparently small things—the neglect to be true to God and to rely upon Him wholly, the disposition to follow the customs and practices of the world.PP 717.2″

When David was innocent and his very life was at stake, God fought for him. As long as David remained guilty in his sin and unrepentant, God could not fight for him. After many mistakes in adding sin to sin and dishonoring God, who had so honored him, David was made to see the exceeding sinfulness of his sins. Nathan, the prophet, was used of God to tell David a parable that so angered David that he was ready to have the guilty man killed. The guilty man was David, himself. David was finally humble and repentant. And God was able to lift him up again.

“Many have murmured at what they called God’s injustice in sparing David, whose guilt was so great, after having rejected Saul for what appear to them to be far less flagrant sins. But David humbled himself and confessed his sin, while Saul despised reproof and hardened his heart in impenitence.PP 726.3

“This passage in David’s history is full of significance to the repenting sinner. It is one of the most forcible illustrations given us of the struggles and temptations of humanity, and of genuine repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Through all the ages it has proved a source of encouragement to souls that, having fallen into sin, were struggling under the burden of their guilt. Thousands of the children of God, who have been betrayed into sin, when ready to give up to despair have remembered how David’s sincere repentance and confession were accepted by God, notwithstanding he suffered for his transgression; and they also have taken courage to repent and try again to walk in the way of God’s commandments.PP 726.4

“Whoever under the reproof of God will humble the soul with confession and repentance, as did David, may be sure that there is hope for him. Whoever will in faith accept God’s promises, will find pardon. The Lord will never cast away one truly repentant soul. He has given this promise: ‘Let him take hold of My strength, that he may make peace with Me; and he shall make peace with Me.’ Isaiah 27:5. ‘Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.’ Isaiah 55:7.PP 726.5″

For Health’s Sake…

Similar to female problems, the cause of prostate problems is hormonal imbalance, because of poor diet, stress, and lack of exercise. Too many toxins are ingested. When flesh, dairy and eggs are used as food, the estrogen pumped into animals for rapid growth is also consumed in the human body. This causes cancer cells to grow rapidly or at least enlarges the prostate.

How does cancer develop? Toxins damage the membranes of cells. They won’t allow minerals like calcium and magnesium inside; but they will allow potassium. Potassium, however, attracts sugar. Cancer feeds on sugar, and the damaged cells multiply and repeat the ill-fated course.

An important point to remember is that we should stay away from ingesting foods high in estrogen, which includes animal products. Excess estrogen causes an increased potent form of testosterone, which leads to prostate problems.

Finally, Pastor Flemons emphasizes the importance of relying on God. Relying on God reduces stress. Stress compounds the problem. Pastor Flemons mentioned that progesterone, which keeps estrogen in check is converted to cortisol when we are under stress. This causes estrogen dominance, which causes prostate problems.

Symptoms of prostate cancer are the same as with the enlarged prostate: burning or painful urination, difficulty urinating, more frequent urges to urinate at night, loss of bladder control, decreased flow or velocity of urine stream, and blood in the urine.

Help for those suffering with prostate problems will be discussed in detail over the next two weeks as biblical health and natural healing are discussed. Until then, Pastor Flemons suggests viewing “Overcome Cancer the REFRESHING Way.”
