Worship: The Altar Call / Wellness: Why People Get Arthritis

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  The altar call is the invitation to come to Jesus, to accept His life in exchange for the life of sin. But no one can come to Jesus without the power of God working in his life. Without Christ no one can do anything, even repent. Jesus said, “No man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father” (John 6:65). It is the love of God that draws sinners to repentance. “Therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee” (Jeremiah 31:1). “And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. . . All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out” (John 6:35, 37). Therefore, when “we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).

Wellness: For Health’s Sake   “It’s simple,” says Pastor Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness. Arthritis happens when the body pulls calcium from the bones in its efforts to alkalinize acidic blood. Acidic blood is blood that has become toxic or poisoned, usually through improper diet and lifestyle. (Read more below.)

Words of Encouragement

Isaiah 26:4,5  Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength: for he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.

Isaiah 26:3  Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee

For Health’s Sake…

As calcium is drawn from the bones into the bloodstream, pieces of calcium get deposited or wedged between the joints, causing agitation, swelling and pain. Osteoarthritis simply results from a buildup of calcium in the joints. And medicine is not the answer.

The way to reverse it is by changing the diet and lifestyle. Eat mostly of fruits and vegetables, which are mostly alkaline. Eat less of grains and nuts, which tend to be somewhat acidic. Choose grains and nuts that tend to be alkaline, like millet and almonds. Avoid foods that are toxic: meats (including chicken and fish), eggs, milk, cheese, processed foods, and carbonated and alcoholic drinks.

Lifestyle also affects the blood. A toxic lifestyle poisons the blood. Trusting God through the power of reading His word to develop faith eases stress. Stress causes the blood to be toxic. Breathing in fresh air while exercising and sleeping helps oxygenate the blood. Getting proper rest by habitually going to bed by 9:30 nightly helps keep blood pure and healthy. Drinking fresh water daily, equal to half of your body’s weight in ounces, is essential to clean blood. So is daily exposure to sunlight on the face and hands for at least 20 minutes.

Avoiding all harmful things and doing good things in moderation defines self-control or temperance. Doing even good work becomes harmful and toxic to the blood, when it is done to excess or the extreme. Consistently engaging in good habits and doing good for others help keep the blood healthy.

Pure healthy blood strengthens the body’s immune system to operate at its optimal level. Toxic blood invites disease, and disease thrives in toxic environments. “The life of the flesh is in the blood.” And “a sound heart is the life of the flesh.” (Read Leviticus 17:11 and Proverbs 14:30.) As long as the blood is alkaline, the body will not need to drain the bones of calcium, which is the cause of osteoarthritis.
