Worship: For Heaven’s Sake Feet washing is called the ordinance of humility. The ordinance is a call to be humble, like Christ. It was and is practiced in conjunction with communion, a service in which baptism vows are renewed. In Scripture, feet washing preceded communion. It helps us humble ourselves in order for Jesus to work within us, says Pastor Flemons, who then sang “Live Out Thy Life Within Me.” And as Pastor Flemons said, “If we don’t humble ourselves, God will.” He then discussed in detail from Bible texts and just plain common sense that the wine used for communion was and is to be the fresh juice of the grape. It was not and should not be fermented or alcoholic. It represents the pure blood of Jesus.

Wellness: For Health’s Sake Pastor Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says fully covering a clean body with lightweight material is basic for enjoying the great outdoors. Insects are attracted to unclean bodies that also reek from a diet of animal flesh and excess sugar. Spraying certain essential oils onto the clothing or hat provides greater defense against an onslaught of insects. Insects are repelled by tea tree oil and other oils, like rosemary, eucalyptus, cedar wood, citronella, and lemon. Pennyroyal, however, is the favorite insect repellant of Pastor Flemons.
The active agent in most common insect repellants, familiarly known as DEET, is essentially a nerve gas. “Research on deet showed that it functions the same way as deadly nerve gases and pesticides, by attacking the nervous system of both insects and mammals.” Deet, this neurotoxin that kills insects by attacking the nervous system, is claimed to be harmless to humans. Yet, it is recommended that only the least amount necessary be used. That likely means that the insecticide really is deadly to humans, according to a health.news article that provided the basis for this wellness segment. The article also reports, “Previous studies have implicated deet in causing seizures in children, but the current study is the first to uncover how the chemical acts directly on the nervous system.”

Words of Encouragement
Hebrews 1:8, 9 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
