Worship: God’s Word Sanctifies / Wellness: The REFRESHING Way for Busy People

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  On the table of shewbread was set two rows of large cakes or loaves, six in each row. The number of cakes represented the twelve tribes of Israel. But the bread itself represented Jesus: the Bread of Life, the Word of Life. And His Word sanctifies our lives. “Its influence upon our lives destroys the carnal life, and imparts a new life–the life of Christ. . . It is through the Word that we are made perfect. ‘All scripture. . .is profitable. . .for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect.’ 2 Tim. 3:16, 17. Let those who would be sanctified, search the Word of God, with patience, with prayer, and with humble contrition of soul.’ . . . The Word of God is the living bread, giving refinement, wisdom, cleansing, spiritual strength and endurance, and finally sanctification and eternal life.”

Words of Encouragement

Lamentations 3:22-24 It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: Great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; Therefore will I hope in him. (Also read PK 421.)

Lamentations 3:25, 26  The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.. (Also read COL 60-61.)

For Health’s Sake…

RRely on God. Begin every morning with prayer and God’s Word. And tell God your needs during the busy day. Be careful to remain open for the guidance of the Holy Spirit. He will help you. Remember, the busier you are, the more you need to seek ways to include God in your day.

EEat healthy. Carry your own healthy total vegetarian dishes for your meals. When you must eat out, ask about their total vegetarian (aka vegan) options. Ask for Chipotle’s burrito bowl and fill it with total vegetarian options. Olive Gardens has a whole grain linguine dish with a marinara sauce that doesn’t have any animal products in it. Chili’s also has a hefty vegan option of the black bean fajitas, and Mellow Mushroom has a veggie pizza with vegan cheese. Ask for spinach to be added to your salads. For salad dressing, use the juice of lemon wedges and a little salt. However, don’t expect that these will be organic or nonGMO. And don’t habitually eat out.

FFresh Air. Keep a window cracked when you must be indoors. And do your work or make your phone calls out in the fresh air whenever possible.

RRest. Make it a habit to get to bed by 9:30. And don’t eat just before going to bed. Then when late working nights do occur, they will be the exception, and not the rule.

E – Exercise. Look for opportunities to walk, rather than drive. Whenever possible, take a stroll after your meals, even if it’s only 5 minutes. Park farther away from entrances, than the normal habit of parking as close as possible. Use the stairs. Stand and pace, rather than sit or recline, during phone calls.

SSelf-control. Always avoid what is harmful: smoking, drinking alcohol, using drugs. Only do in moderation that which is good. Work is good. But don’t overwork. Take occasional restful breaks.

H2ODrink water. Avoid sodas and all of the monster drinks. Unsweetened herbal teas may be substituted for plain water. Drink in ounces half of your body’s weight.

IIn the sun. At least spend some time outside in the sun.

NNever give up. Be determined to stay healthy, rather try to regain your health once it is lost.

GGive to others. Look for opportunities to share something with someone else.
