Worship: Kingdoms of Grace and Glory / Wellness: Don’t Borrow Power from Tomorrow

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Where there is a throne, there is a kingdom. Where there is a heavenly throne, there is a heavenly kingdom. The Bible speaks of two thrones (Hebrews 4:16; Matthew 25:31) or kingdoms: the kingdom of grace and the kingdom of glory. Established as early as grace was offered to sinful mankind, “The kingdom of grace is God’s plan to save men by grace.”  {TTKGG 1.4} The kingdom of glory will be established in connection with the second coming of Christ.

“The Scriptures distinctly speak of two thrones. One is the throne of the Father, the other is the throne of the Son. Christ first sits on the throne of the Father, to reign in connection with him in the kingdom of grace until human probation shall close. He will then reign upon his own throne forever, in the kingdom of glory. [Hebrews 8:1 and 12:2.] In these emphatic words, Christ addresses the church: ‘To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcome, and am set down with my Father in his throne.’ Revelation 3:21.” {TTKGG 2.2}

The church is made up of the subjects of the kingdom of grace. They are followers of Jesus Christ, the Messiah. These subjects, His followers, extend backward to Adam, to whom was first extended the grace of God and who believed in the promised Messiah. They are prepared or sanctified to become the subjects of the kingdom of glory. They will be invited to share the throne of glory with Jesus, just as Jesus sat on the right hand of His Father on His Father’s throne. In time, after the destruction of Satan and sin forever, “the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him:” Jesus, the king of kings and lord of lords. (Daniel 7:27 and 1 Timothy 6:14-16.)

[For additional details, please read Hebrews 4:16; Matthew 25:31; 2 Timothy 4:1,2; Revelation 3:21; 1 Timothy 6:14-16; Hebrews 8:1; 12:2; Daniel 2:44; 7:13, 14, 27; and The Two Thrones Representing the Kingdoms of Grace and of Glory, by James White. Also listen to the recording, which includes Pastor Flemons, singing the Scripture song Daniel 7:27 and Hymn 619, “Lead On, O King Eternal.”]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that the fountain of youth so many are seeking has already been bestowed.

“God has endowed us with a certain amount of vital force. He has also formed us with organs suited to maintain the various functions of life, and He designs that these organs shall work together in harmony. If we carefully preserve the life force, and keep the delicate mechanism of the body in order, the result is health; but if the vital force is too rapidly exhausted, the nervous system borrows power for present use from its resources of strength, and when one organ is injured, all are affected. Nature bears much abuse without apparent resistance; she then arouses and makes a determined effort to remove the effects of the ill-treatment she has suffered. Her effort to correct these conditions is often manifest in fever and various other forms of sickness.” {MH 234}

“Intemperate eating is often the cause of sickness, and what nature most needs is to be relieved of the undue burden that has been placed upon her. In many cases of sickness, the very best remedy is for the patient to fast for a meal or two, that the overworked organs of digestion may have an opportunity to rest. A fruit diet for a few days has often brought great relief to brain workers. Many times a short period of entire abstinence from food, followed by simple, moderate eating, has led to recovery through nature’s own recuperative effort. An abstemious diet for a month or two would convince many sufferers that the path of self-denial is the path to health.” {MH 235.2}

The way to preserve your fountain of youth is to follow the eight laws of health, embedded in the acronym REFRESHING, as an easy reminder. You must Rely on God; Eat healthy; get Fresh air, Rest and Exercise; use Self-control; drink H2O, water; spend time In the sun; Never give up; and Give to others.

Special Prayer  Please include in your prayers today call-in listener 3116, who asked that we pray God to teach her faithfulness, how to love the unlovely, how to trust Him, how to walk by faith, how to be a clear witness so that others may see that He is good. Also pray that she stays healthy.

Pray also for those undergoing surgery today and all grieving families (especially spouses). Pray for those fighting for their lives and against depression.
