Worship: How Christians Should Relate to Police Officers / Wellness: Curing Heart Disease This Fall

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Rulers, which includes police officers, are ministers of God. At least, they are supposed to be. That is what the Bible says in Romans 13:1-7. The Bible says that every soul is subject to a higher power. Police officers are a higher power to citizens. Therefore, when you obey an officer, you are essentially obeying God’s orders.

Yet, even police officers are subject to higher powers, including the nation’s constitution and an even higher power: God Himself. Therefore, never obey any officer when it means disobedience to the nation’s constitution and/or God. Even then, you must respectfully disobey the officer.

In fact, says Pastor Flemons, if you haven’t already seen the teaching video “Never Talk to the Police,” please see it. A former criminal defense attorney recorded one of his law class lectures in 2012 for all of us. In it, he quotes a Supreme Court Justice before his death in 1954: “[A]ny lawyer worth his salt will tell the suspect in no uncertain terms to make no statement to the police under any circumstances.” In simple language, never under any circumstances, give any information to any police officer. During the lecture you basically learn why. For one, the complexity of the legal system is such that in 2012, it took 27,000 printed pages just to cover the basic details. Besides that was an additional 10,000 pages of administrative regulations. Who can possibly know it?

Remember, says Pastor Flemons, “You don’t have to obey orders that cause you to be disobedient to the officer’s higher powers. . .But be wise.” And be respectful. Do your part to maintain law and order.

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, informed listeners that one important aspect of curing heart disease this fall can be as easy as covering your extremities. When the arms and legs are as warm as your torso or the trunk of your body, then your blood can more easily circulate throughout the system.

Blood circulation affects the heart. When the blood circulates evenly and uninhibited throughout the body, the heart is strengthened. When the extremities are colder than the trunk of the body, blood vessels constrict. Hypothermia can be the result. In an attempt to avoid hypothermia, the heart must pump harder to increase blood circulation in those areas. The heart’s attempt to bring the temperature of the extremities to that of the torso strains the heart and risks hypertension. It can even cause problems for the prostate and female organs.

Those alone should be great reasons to simply keep your arms and legs as warm as your torso!
