Worship: God’s Law of Love / Wellness: Juicing Contraindications

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  God’s Ten Commandments hang on man’s love for God and man’s love for his fellow human beings. The first four commandments govern man’s relationship to God. The final six govern man’s relationship to man. This is what Jesus meant when, in Matthew 22:37-40, He said, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

Your heart is your spiritual nature, says Pastor Flemons. Your soul is your physical nature. And your mind is your mental nature. In all these ways you must love God and put Him first: spiritually, physically and mentally. Guard what enters your heart. Guard what goes into your body. And guard what enters your mind. Then we must do all we can to help our neighbors do the same. This is how we do all to the glory of God. This is the whole duty of man.

In this way, God’s law was taught orally and preserved for generations until the great flood during Noah’s time. Then when God brought Israel out of Egypt, His law was spoken in their hearing and written, actually engraved, in tables of stone. Then it was enshrined in the ark, the foundation of the mercy seat, a symbol of God’s throne and guarded by two angels in the Most Holy Place of the earthly sanctuary. “Later this law of love was more fully made known through His dealings with man as recorded in the complete Bible. In fact, the decalogue has been called ‘ an abridged edition of the Bible,’ because it expresses ‘the whole duty of man.’ Eccl. 12:13.”

[For additional details, please read Matthew 22:34-40; Deuteronomy 6:1-5; 2:7; and “God’s Law, a Law of Love” in Path to the Throne of God, by Sarah Elizabeth Peck. (PTG 184, 185 original. Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, discussed contraindications for juicing. He quickly clarifies that you can still juice, but that you must make some adjustments in what vegetables you use.

He says that you should be very cautious about juicing when your kidneys are damaged to the point that they cannot perform the very “basic function of getting rid of potassium, which is one of the easiest things the kidney does.” A high dose of potassium can be lethal. In fact, it is what is most states now use in the execution of death row inmates, he says.

When there is a calcium overload in the body system, you really cannot juice at all, says Pastor Flemons. Juicing provides lots of calcium. Although a calcium overload is not fatal, like a potassium overload, you really cannot function when there is a calcium overload. However, like potassium, a calcium overload is very rare.

If you are a diabetic, have hypergyclemia, hypoglycemia, candida, or parasites, you must adjust the sugar content of your juicing. You must juice mostly green vegetables and lesser of beets and carrots. In fact, he says that you may need to totally eliminate beets and carrots in your juicing regimen.  A Granny Smith apple is generally a great way to flavor the green juice; but be prepared to eliminate it as well, if necessary. Use more of celery, cucumber, kale, parsley, and broad leafy vegetables.

Finally, if you have problems with the sexual organs, including the prostate for men, breasts for women, and the lower pelvic region, you should be very cautious about including carrots in your juicing regimen. Carrots would be too highly concentrated in phytoestrogens for you.
