Worship: The Books Are Opened / Wellness: Quinoa

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  The Bible speaks of books being opened at the Judgment. We learned of three books: the Book of Life, the Book of Remembrance, and the Book of Death.

The Book of Life contains the names of those who profess to believe in God and in the sacrifice of His Son Jesus for their salvation. The Book of Remembrance contains the accurate record of “every generous and thoughtful deed, every kind word, every tender, loving thought prompted by God and done in His name.” More than that, it contains “every temptation resisted, every evil overcome, every word of tender pity expressed.” It is a faithful record of “every little act of self-sacrifice made for Jesus’ sake, every trial endured for Him . . ., and all will come up in remembrance before the Father when our name is called.”

The third book, the Book of Death, is also called the Book of Sins. It contains a faithful record of all our wrong doings. With “terrible exactness” this book contains every wrong and idle word, Matt. 12:36, 37, every selfish act, every unfulfilled duty, every secret sin, and every attempt to deceive. Unheeded warnings, neglected reproofs, wasted moments, unimproved opportunities, [even] the influence of our example with its far-reaching results”: All these will remain in the book, unless each entry has a note of “repentance and reformation written after each sin.”

“When our life in the holy place is ended, when our guardian angel has made the last entry in our Book of Remembrance and in our Book of Sins, through these life records, we approach the throne and appear before the great Judge of all the earth. Let us hope all our sins have, by repentance and reformation, gone ‘before to judgment,’ I Tim. 5:24, that our passport, sanctification, secured in the holy place, will be accepted. Neither parents nor friends can help us now.  . . . We stand alone before the throne. Jesus, our Advocate, is there to plead His shed blood for all who have endured to the end.”

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that quinoa is a wonderful and popular gluten-free seed that is also very easy to prepare and incorporate into your diet as you would a grain. Easily used in place of rice, it is one of the very few plant foods that contain all nine essential amino acids. “It is also high in fiber, magnesium, B vitamins, iron, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, vitamin E and various beneficial antioxidants.”

These make quinoa “one of the healthiest and most nutritious foods on the planet.

It may improve your blood sugar and cholesterol levels and even aid weight loss,” according to the healthline.com article Pastor Flemons referred to during the segment.
