Worship: Health Reform / Wellness: Benefits of Eating Berries

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Health reform follows talks by Pastor Flemons on a number of reforms instituted after 1798, when the Dark Ages ended. These reforms include the Bible, the Spirit of Prophecy, the Sanctuary, the Sabbath, Worship, Country Living, as well as Financial, Education, Home, Prophetic, Faith and Unity reforms in his series “Preparation for the Final Crisis.” He says, “It’s preparation for Heaven.”

God wants us to just be healthy, says Pastor Flemons. 3 John 2 says “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”

God knew that in order to be healthy, we need proper habits of living. We need a healthy lifestyle. We must eat to His glory. We must drink to His glory. Whatever we do, we must do to the glory of God. If what we eat or what we drink or what we do causes sickness or pain, how then can it bring glory to God? asked Pastor Flemons.

God was honored in the way that Daniel and his friends ate and drank and in that which they did. Read Daniel 1:1-21. Not only were they healthy but in the end, they proved to be ten times better than all the others chosen to eat at the king’s table. They were blessed beyond simply being physically healthy.

When we eat what God designed in Genesis 1:29, our lives will be “prolonged.” We will be physically preserved. When we don’t, we risk dying before our time, says Pastor Flemons.

Give yourself the best chance to be healthy: Rely on God. Eat healthy: that means a total plant-based diet. Get fresh air, rest and exercise. Use self-control; be temperate in all things.  Drink water. Get in the sun daily. Never give up, and give to others. It’s the REFRESHING and simple way to remember and obey God’s laws for a healthy lifestyle.

[For additional details, please read 1 Corinthians 10:31Ecclesiastes 7:17. Also, listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons.]

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that there is a benefit to eating berries. A healthline.com article presented eleven reasons why berries are healthy to eat. Pastor Flemons shared them with his own comments.

Berries are full of antioxidants. They help improve blood sugar insulin responses. They are high in fiber: both soluble and insoluble. They are extremely nutritious in vitamins and minerals. They fight inflammation. They lower cholesterol. They help keep your arteries healthy. They are good for the skin. They reduce the risk of cancer. They can be enjoyed in nearly all types of diets. And they are delicious alone and in healthy recipes.

Worship: Unity in the Church / Wellness: Spiritual Influences in Healing

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Unity reform follows talks by Pastor Flemons on a number of reforms instituted after 1798, when the Dark Ages ended. These reforms included the Bible, the Spirit of Prophecy, the Sanctuary, the Sabbath, Worship, Country Living, as well as Financial, Education, Home, Prophetic, and Faith reforms in his series “Preparation for the Final Crisis.” It’s preparation for Heaven, he says. The prayer of Jesus Christ in John 17, expresses the desire that Christians be one, unified, as are Jesus and His Father.

In part 3 of his talk on unity, Pastor Flemons says that we are our own greatest enemy to unity, as he read these passages from the Spirit of Prophecy:

“It is not the opposition of the world that most endangers the church of Christ. It is the evil cherished in the hearts of believers that works their most grievous disaster and most surely retards the progress of God’s cause. There is no surer way of weakening spirituality than by cherishing envy, suspicion, faultfinding, and evil surmising. On the other hand, the strongest witness that God has sent His Son into the world is the existence of harmony and union among men of varied dispositions who form His church. This witness it is the privilege of the followers of Christ to bear. But in order to do this, they must place themselves under Christ’s command. Their characters must be conformed to His character and their wills to His will.” {Acts of the Apostles, by Ellen G. White, AA 549.1}

“How true are the words of the apostle, ‘Where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.’ One person in an institution or in a church who gives loose rein to unkind thoughts by speaking evil of the brethren, may stir up the worst passions of the human heart, and spread abroad a leaven of evil that will work in all who come into association with him. In this way the enemy of all righteousness gains the victory, and the result of his work is to make of no effect the Saviour’s prayer when He pleaded that His disciples might be one as He is one with the Father (The Review and Herald, March 12, 1895).” {SDA Bible Commentary7BC 937.1}

“Never can the church reach the position that God desires it to reach until it is bound up in sympathy with its missionary workers. Never can the unity for which Christ prayed exist until spirituality is brought into missionary service, and until the church becomes an agency for the support of missions.” {Counsels on Stewardship, by Ellen G. White, CS 47.2}

[For additional details, please read John 17 in full. Also, listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang  Hymn 632, “Until Then.”]

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that the Holy Spirit is a powerful influence of healing. Even Jesus healed by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Read John 6:63 and Matthew 12:27, 28.)

What hinders healing is all those things that people tend to pile up between themselves and the Spirit of God from actually working in their lives. Pastor Flemons says, “In our quest for healing, let’s make sure that the five senses are all wrapped up with things that will bring the Holy Spirit and not drive Him away.” That includes a heart that is at peace with God: a happy heart.  Proverbs 17:22 confirms that your attitude is critical to health. “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine.

But it is important to realize that all the circumstances of your life may not be correct, he says. That is why the Bible says that we can have that kind of peace that passes all understanding. It is “the peace of God, which passeth all understanding,” that keeps our “hearts and minds through Christ Jesus,” according to Philippians 4:7. Never let anyone discourage you from healing, that your case is beyond hope.  “A living dog is better than a dead lion,” (Ecclesiastes 9:4). From this text comes this principle: “Where there is life, there is hope,” says Pastor Flemons.

Regardless of how hopeless the world may consider your case, God wants you to be healed, if that healing will bring glory to God’s name, says Pastor Flemons, who ended his talk with the Scripture song of Proverbs 17:22: “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine.” For it spells FAITH. “According to your faith,” says Jesus, “be it unto you” (Matthew 9:29).

Worship: Unity Reform, Part 2 / Wellness: How Diabetics Can Lower Risk of Kidney Disease

In part 2 of Unity Reform, Pastor Flemons shared pertinent readings, particularly these two. “Let all dissension and strife cease. Let love and unity prevail. Let all move under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. If God’s people will give themselves wholly to Him, He will restore to them the power they have lost by division. May God help us all to realize that disunion is weakness and that union is strength.—Letter 32, 1903. {1SM 85.2}

“Unity in diversity among God’s children—the manifestation of love and forbearance in spite of difference of disposition—this is the testimony that God sent His Son into the world to save sinners.10 {SD 286.2}

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that diabetics are at an increased risk of kidney disease. In fact, a study found that “about 1 out of 4 adults with diabetes also suffer from kidney disease.” These facts reported in the health.news article that Pastor Flemons read to listeners, accompanied further details of the study, which found aerobic exercise to be the best in decreasing the risk of kidney disease  among diabetics.

But more than that, Pastor Flemons says, “You don’t have to have type 2 diabetes.” In order to prevent and overcome diabetes, he recommends a total plant-based diet and a change in lifestyle. He says to eat lots of raw foods, lots of salads. He advises taking TOR’s formula for diabetes, called Diabetez. It can be taken in tea or tonic form and will lower blood sugar.

Because diabetics may tend to be low in chromium, he says to get a supplement from the health food store. Also drink plenty of water. Drink a minimum of your daily recommended intake, which is half of your body’s weight in ounces. A big part of the problem, he says is in eating animal products, which is a must to eliminate. He also warns against eating processed foods and white flour products.

Of course, you must persevere. It’s going to take work, he says. And, it’s going to take some time. Exercise is only part of the answer.

Worship: Unity Reform / Wellness: Hypertension Leads to Dementia

“Study prayerfully the seventeenth chapter of John. This chapter is not only to be read again and again; its truths are to be eaten and assimilated. ‘For their sakes,’ Christ prayed: ‘I sanctify Myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on Me through their word; that they all may be one; as Thou, Father, art in Me, and I in Thee, that they also may be one in Us: that the world may believe that Thou hast sent Me. And the glory which Thou gavest Me I have given them; that they may be one, even as We are one: I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that Thou hast sent Me, and hast loved them, as Thou hast loved Me.’ John 17:19-23. {8T 80.1}

“Are these words, of such wonderful import to us, to be always neglected? God calls upon those who profess to be His children to study these words, to eat them, to live them. He calls upon them to seek for unity and love, else the candlestick will be moved out of its place. {8T 80.2}

But unity is not unity, if truth has to be waived, says Pastor Flemons. Christ is not among those who unite in opposition to truth.

“The wide diversity of belief in the Protestant churches is regarded by many as decisive proof that no effort to secure a forced uniformity can ever be made. But there has been for years, in churches of the Protestant faith, a strong and growing sentiment in favor of a union based upon common points of doctrine. To secure such a union, the discussion of subjects upon which all were not agreed—however important they might be from a Bible standpoint—must necessarily be waived.” {GC 444.2}

However, “When we are united in the unity for which Christ prayed, this long controversy that has been kept up through satanic agency will end, and we shall not see men framing plans after the order of the world because they have not spiritual eyesight to discern spiritual things.”

Says Pastor Flemons, “Let’s answer the prayer of Christ.” Let us unite in full truth.

Worship: For Health’s Sake “High blood pressure greatly increases risk of dementia among women in their forties, new study finds” is the title of the health.news article that Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, reviewed for listeners. The study was conducted with more than seven thousand women. They found that “women with high blood pressure in their forties have a 73 percent higher risk of dementia.” The study was “published in Neurology – the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology.”

Pastor Flemons says that hypertension leads to challenges in the brain, because the life of the flesh is in the blood. He stated, “When you have hypertension, you usually have poorer circulation. Hypertension leads to a stroke. That means the arteries would tend to be blocked.” He says that he thinks that “deprivation of blood and nutrients in that blood, and oxygen from that blood over time produces the challenges in the brain.”

Therefore, he says, “Let’s eat the way God would have us eat. A whole food, plant-based diet. Lots of sprouts. Lots of vegetables and fruits.” Also eat whole grains, including uncommon ones, like couscous and millet. Learn the value of a total plant-based diet, he says. It is God’s original plan for your life to keep your arteries open.

Words of Encouragement

Exodus 15:2  The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him. (Also read Conflict and Courage, CC 93.)

Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. (Also read With God at Dawn, WGD 89.)

Worship: Faith Reform / Wellness: Pain Management

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Faith reform follows talks by Pastor Flemons on a number of reforms instituted after 1798, including the Bible, the Spirit of Prophecy, the Sanctuary, the Sabbath, Worship, Country Living, as well as Financial, Education, Home, and Prophetic reforms in his series “Preparation for the Final Crisis.” It’s preparation for Heaven, he says.

True acts of righteousness is right doing that happens by faith. People are struggling with various things, because they lack faith. You can never even truly obey without faith, he says. When you are struggling, stop focusing on the problem. Rather, focus on God’s power to help. Focus on His promises. Meet the conditions, and claim the promises.

Faith is believing what God says and then acting upon that belief. It has two components. It is believing that God IS, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Faith is believing that God has limitless power and that His love for you is personal: that He would personally do for you what He has promised in His Word.

Money, houses, land: those are not what we need. What we need, says Pastor Flemons, is the favor of God. And we may have His favor by faith. “When we learn the power of His word, we shall not follow the suggestions of Satan in order to obtain food or to save our lives. Our only questions will be, What is God’s command? and what His promise? Knowing these, we shall obey the one, and trust the other.” {DA 121.2}

“The only thing in our world upon which we can rely is the word of God. ‘Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.’ Matthew 6:33.” {DA 121.2

“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith” 1 John 5:4.

[For additional details, please read Hebrews 11:6; Exodus 3:13, 14; Matthew 8:2; Genesis 28; Genesis 32:24; Desire of Ages, by Ellen G. White, DA 121, and listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang the Scripture song 1 John 5:4, as well as short phrases of “He’s Able,” “Somebody Bigger Than You and I,” and “Jacob’s Ladder.”]

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says valerian (in tincture form) and Jamaican dogwood, maybe with the addition of cayenne, would be his favorite herbs for pain management. There are other herbs that are also good he says. But first he offered a tip.

Herbs known to relax nerves, that induce sleep, and have a calming effect, are herbs that also ease pain. They include white willow bark (from which aspirin is made), skullcap, and hops. They can be mixed together. You cannot overdose, he says. The pain may be severe enough to take a whole dropper filled with valerian.

Nevertheless, the lifestyle component is important for pain management. You must drink plenty of water. Make sure you are not dehydrated. And commit to a total plant-based diet. It encourages alkalinity, which lowers inflammation, which itself is the cause of pain. Lots of green juice lowers inflammation, as well.

“Try extra strength curcumen,” he says. It is the component in turmeric. Even so, you would have to take a lot of turmeric to equal one capsule of extra strength curcumen. He has found that coffee enemas are effective in managing pain. He also discussed his view on taking these herbs and pain meds, and has had no problems. But he urges that it be your call, your decision.

Words of Encouragement

Exodus 14:15  And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward. (Also read Conflict and Courage, CC 92.)

Matthew 7:7, 8  Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. (Also read With God at Dawn, WGD 88.)

Worship: Prophetic Reform / Wellness: Avoid Processed Foods

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Prophetic reform follows talks by Pastor Flemons on a number of reforms, including the Bible, the Spirit of Prophecy, the Sanctuary, the Sabbath, Worship, Country Living, as well as Financial, Education and Home reforms in his series “Preparation for the Final Crisis.” It’s preparation for Heaven, he says.

We have been warned that before Christ comes, there would be a general moral decline. There would actually be “a falling away,” even from the truth, as the Apostle Paul described it in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4. In fact, the man of sin–the son of perdition, who sits as God on Earth–would be revealed. The Bible also says that Satan knows that his time is short and that the inhabiters of the earth and the sea should expect woe. Relative to the end of time, Jesus spoke much about it, especially as recorded in Matthew 24. Pastor explained the modern application of the abomination of desolation. He also discussed Revelation 12:12 and Revelation 13 and how prophecies can have a double application.

We know that the Blair bill of 1888 was intended to force Sunday sacredness. It was defeated. Yet, we know and see that Sunday sacredness is coming to America again. We must consider where we live and where we travel. The abomination of desolation message will still apply. It may be, says Pastor Flemons, that we will need to then move still farther away from the city. In fact, there will come a time when we won’t even go near the city. God’s people will be in hiding, even living in caves. That is prophetic.

There are still things that God will reveal to us, says Pastor Flemons. There is much that we need “to revisit, and to relook at,” he says. Thankfully, we can trust God in the wonderful work of knowing the times in which we live. For He comforts us with prophecies that we may know His doings. “Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets” (Amos 3:7). Therefore, we must know the time and know “that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed” (Romans 13:11).

[For additional details, please read Acts 17:11;  Revelation 12:12; 17:15; Revelation 13; Matthew 24:15-22; Country Living, by Ellen G. White, CL 32 . Also, listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons.]

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says avoiding processed foods will help you avoid some things that are in your food supply that would shock you, if you only knew. Read ingredients carefully. He says that it is better to do your shopping in the produce section of the grocery store. Feed the cells of your body with high nutrients. That would be live foods. Also buy organic. And keep it simple, he says.

If you would follow his suggestion to build your meals around either a green salad or a fruit salad, you would be eating healthier and feeding your body on a cellular level.

Words of Encouragement

Psalm 105:39  He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night. (Also read Conflict and Courage, CC 91.)

2 Peter 3:9  The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (Also read With God at Dawn, WGD 87.)

Worship: Home Reform / Wellness: Aborted Babies in Our Food Supply?

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Home reform follows talks by Pastor Flemons on a number of reforms, including Bible reform, the Spirit of Prophecy reform, Sanctuary reform, Sabbath reform, Worship reform, Country Living reform, Financial reform, and Education reform in his series “Preparation for the Final Crisis.” It’s preparation for Heaven, he says. The importance of the home, including marriage, is measureless.

It is of fundamental importance to understand that it takes two whole persons to make one whole truly married Christian couple. The family depends on that. In turn, societies depend upon families. And as all are sure to attest, “Families are under attack. . . . Selfishness abounds. . . . Roles are misunderstood. . . . And the nation is as bad as it is, because homes are as bad as they are. . . . Homes are to be little heavens on Earth. That is the will of God.”

The problem is often the physical activity prior to marriage, which is “binding and blinding,” says Pastor Flemons. Still, making a second mistake to correct a first mistake is never wise. “It is better to wait and not marry, than to marry the wrong person,” says Pastor Flemons.

“Marriage is a symbol of God Himself,” he says. There is no substitute for God’s favor in marriage. You must be in harmony with God’s will. Indeed, God brings people together, because together they can do a greater work for God than each could do alone. Together, they can properly lay a solid foundation for future benevolence to society.

Ellen White says it this way: “To the lack of right home training may be traced the larger share of the disease and misery and crime that curse humanity. If the home life were pure and true, if the children who went forth from its care were prepared to meet life’s responsibilities and dangers, what a change would be seen in the world!” {MH 351.1}

[For additional details, please read Ministry of Healing (MH) and Adventist Home (AH), by Ellen G. White,  MH 349; AH 15; and listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang Hymn 655, “Happy the Home.”]

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says the question is “Are aborted babies in our food supply?” The question was prompted by an NPR article he shared from 2012. The article reported a senator’s research revealing “companies in the food industry that have used human stem cells to help them research and develop products, including artificial flavorings.”

“Shame on anyone using fetuses for foods,” says Pastor Flemons. Yes. It should be criminal to act upon the thought. And shame on anyone to ever think of doing such a thing. Nevertheless, the debate continues as to whether such practices are actually occurring. “There must have been enough evidence,” says Pastor Flemons, for an Oklahoma senator to introduce a bill prohibiting the manufacture or informed sell of “food or any other product intended for human consumption which contains aborted human fetuses in the ingredients or which used aborted human fetuses in the research or development of any of the ingredients.”

We must be careful, says Pastor Flemons. But if we are eating God’s way, we will avoid consuming artificial flavors.”You are encourage to do your own research,” he says, and know what you are eating.

Words of Encouragement

Psalm 105:43  And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness. (Also read Conflict and Courage, CC 90.)

Isaiah 58:11  And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. (Also read With God at Dawn, WGD 86.)

Worship: Education Reform / Wellness: Importance of Fruits and Vegetables

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Education reform follows talks by Pastor Flemons on Bible reform, the Spirit of Prophecy reform, Sanctuary reform, Sabbath reform, Worship reform, Country Living reform, and Financial reform in his series “Preparation for the Final Crisis.” It’s preparation for Heaven, he says. We cannot be saved unless we embrace education reform. He explained.

“We have been duped into believing that education means degrees,” he says. That’s why the Jews were amazed at the intellectual acumen of Jesus and His teachings. Jesus did not have the coveted degrees from their institutions. (Read John 7:15.) Satan duped Eve into believing that it was a wise thing to know both good and evil. (Read Genesis 3:1-6.) Today’s global educational system is still the fruit of that same tree: the tree of good and evil.

God warned, however, that eating from that tree would bring death. (Read Genesis 2:16, 17.) Pastor Flemons says that this kind of education “is killing us.” God’s plan of education, however, does not mix evil with good, he says. And education reform would get rid of the deadly mix, which also destroys faith and prevents a total commitment to God. God’s plan of education has a broad scope and leads to eternal life, as explained in Deuteronomy 11:18-25. Every waking moment was to be educational. It was not to be limited to classroom time.

Education reform leads to proper education, where the Bible, the tree of life, is the base. True education reform is believing what God says and then acting upon what He says. “True education,” says Pastor Flemons, “is synonymous with redemption.” It is being made in the image of Christ.

[For additional details, please read Genesis 2:8,9 and listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang Hymn 500, “Take Time to Be Holy.”]

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that you should put your meals before pills. It is far better than taking toxic drugs. When you are sick you are acidic. But when you are fine you are alkaline, he says. It is all about the blood, which should be slightly alkaline: that is, slightly above a pH of 7. The typical dietary routine will not ensure alkaline blood.

To ensure that your blood is healthy with the proper alkalinity, you need to eat plenty of raw foods (especially fruits and vegetables). Fruits and vegetables are high in the vitamins and minerals needed by the body. They are high in antioxidants and high in antiviral, antibiotic, and antifungal properties. They reduce inflammation, says Pastor Flemons. And  they reduce the risks of disease, such as hypertension and diabetes. They also reduce conditions and the risks of disease, such as hypertension and diabetes.

Worship: Financial Reform, Where Is the Storehouse? / Wellness: Starving on a Full Stomach

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Financial reform follows talks on Bible reform, the Spirit of Prophecy reform, Sanctuary reform, Sabbath reform, Worship reform, and Country Living reform in the series “Preparation for the Final Crisis.”

Financial reform involves returning tithes and offerings to the storehouse. And God does have a storehouse, says Pastor Flemons. The question is Where is it. The simple answer? It is where His meat is. Jesus said that His meat is to do the will of His Father God. (Read John 4:34.) Then those who are teaching, doing, and living the truth is where the storehouse is, says Pastor Flemons.

Among the disciples of Jesus, Judas, the traitor, was the treasurer. (Read John 12:3-6 and John 13:29.) Although Jesus had a mismanaging treasurer in Judas, says Pastor Flemons, at least you see that in the ministry of Jesus and the disciples, the right things were being done. There is no question about that.

Nevertheless, the ministry of Jesus was not being supported by the conference of His day. John 7:1 reveals that Jesus was a self-supporting minister, says Pastor Flemons. In fact, he says, that Jesus was no longer part of Jewry, the officially recognized organization or conference of His day. The storehouse is not merely the conference, he says. Self-supporting ministers, those teaching present truth, ought to be supported, just as was Jesus.

More recently, God instructed His servant Sis. Ellen G. White, to appropriate tithes where most needed to do a work for the Lord. Pastor Flemons read a couple of supporting statements and offered to share many more as requested. The bottom line is that financial reform includes returning tithes and offerings where the work is being done and where support for finishing the work is being neglected.

[For additional details, please read Malachi 3:10; 1 Corinthians 14:32; Manuscript Release, 7MR 3662MR 99, 100. Also, listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons.]

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that you can actually starve on a full stomach. When you eat largely of processed foods, including refined bread, rather than whole foods, you are missing the nutrition that your body cells require. A good portion of what the body requires is live foods, says Pastor Flemons.

That would be foods in the most natural or nearest its natural state. Eat raw foods, foods from the ground, he says. That would be fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and nuts. These are whole foods, live foods, unprocessed healthy foods. It is worthy of note, however, that since the soil may itself be depleted of nutrients, all organic foods may not even be highly nutritious. Therefore, says Pastor Flemons, to be on the safe side, it is best to juice and drink your vegetables at least every other day.

(For additional details, please listen to the recording.)

Words of Encouragement

Galatians 6:7  Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. (Also read Conflict and Courage, CC 88.)

Deuteronomy. 32:9, 10  For the Lord’s portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance. He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. (Also read With God at Dawn, WGD 84.)

Worship: Country Living Reform / Wellness: Tried a Plant-Based Diet? Got Weak? Here’s Why

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  God instituted reforms after 1798 to prepare His people for the world’s final crisis, which will occur just prior to the Second Coming of Christ. Country living is just one of those reforms. It follows talks on Bible reform, the Spirit of Prophecy reform, Sanctuary reform, Sabbath reform, and Worship reform in the series “Preparation for the Final Crisis.”

God’s original plan is still His plan for us today. The Garden of Eden was the home chosen of God for our first parents: Adam and Eve. They were to dress it and maintain it. They were safe there until, they ventured away. Today is no different in that we must still keep our families away from temptations to sin.

“Better sacrifice any and every worldly consideration than to imperil the precious souls committed to your care. They will be assailed by temptations, and should be taught to meet them; but it is your duty to cut off every influence, to break up every habit, to sunder every tie, that keeps you from the most free, open, and hearty committal of yourselves and your family to God. {CL 5.3}

“Instead of the crowded city, seek some retired situation where your children will be, so far as possible, shielded from temptation, and there train and educate them for usefulness. . . .—Testimonies for the Church 5:232, 233 (1882).” {CL 5.4}

Pastor Flemons says that people believe the first signal is yet to come with the Sunday Law crisis. However, the first signal to get out of the city happened in 1888, the year of America’s first Sunday Law crisis. He says to not be deceived by the last statement in the book Country Living, which says:

“It is no time now for God’s people to be fixing their affections or laying up their treasure in the world. The time is not far distant, when, like the early disciples, we shall be forced to seek a refuge in desolate and solitary places. As the siege of Jerusalem by the Roman armies was the signal for flight to the Judean Christians, so the assumption of power on the part of our nation, in the decree enforcing the papal Sabbath, will be a warning to us. It will then be time to leave the large cities, preparatory to leaving the smaller ones for retired homes in secluded places among the mountains. And now, instead of seeking expensive dwellings here, we should be preparing to move to a better country, even a heavenly. Instead of spending our means in self-gratification, we should be studying to economize.—Testimonies for the Church 5:464, 465 (1885).” {CL 32.1}

Make preparations with the right mindset, says Pastor Flemons. Pray. Pray. Pray. You don’t want to enter into the country with the wrong people. Pray toward it. Look toward it. Move toward it now. The final movements we have been warned will be rapid ones. Country living, however, is only part of the preparation for the final crisis.

[For additional details, please read Genesis 2:8; Country Living, by Ellen G. White, CL 5; and CL 31. Also, listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang Hymn 93, “All Things Bright and Beautiful.”]

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that eating healthy for the first time for some people may be weakening. Why is that? Pastor Flemons shared his own testimony and explained.

Some are uneducated, he says, and are simply doing it wrong. All products in a health food store are not healthy. Pastor Flemons testified about eating junk food from a health food store, while still in his teens. He says, “People think just because it’s not meat, it’s good to eat.” That is just not so.

You must eat the right foods, he says. Eat lots of fresh produce, lots of sprouts, lettuce, tomatoes, all kinds of vegetables and whole grains. However, some people will say that they did all of that and still got weak. To that, Pastor Flemons says you need to know that animal products are stimulating. It’s like a bellows, he says, that keeps a fire going. Meat-eating is similar to that. It causes the body to race, producing an energetic feeling. But the body is only trying to rush the toxins out of the system. A plant-based diet will help the body calm down. At first, you will not feel your normal energy. However, in time, the body will respond, and you will feel your new normal. Then, it will be great.

Special Prayer  Please include in your prayers listener 1670, who needs spiritual growth, strength and trust in God for herself, her husband and their family. Also pray for God’s blessings for their material needs and  divine wisdom as they face the challenges. Pray that the CAT scan goes well.

Please pray for Paula (Pastor’s sister) who has an online interview this morning at 9 Central Time. Pray that her other appointment with AT&T to set up a landline happens and runs smoothly and on time. They were to have  done it yesterday, but never did.

Also, pray for the favor of God and the endurance of a relative of Sis. Audrey’s, who is under attack. He has endured a previous accusation and, after close investigation, was found innocent. Still, there was loss of position and income that were eventually restored retroactively.

One of our faithful listeners texted this message requesting your prayers: “Please add my family to the prayer list. I have three daughters, all of whom are single heads of household. Each recently became unemployed and are now now facing eviction. My heart is heavy for them as I see them struggling so hard to keep their heads above water and their respective children fully sustained. I am requesting prayer for their financial and housing security, and also for increased protection against the demonic attack that is under way against my family. Thank you.”
