Worship: Character in Clothing / Wellness: Bras and Breast Cancer

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Dress reform follows talks by Pastor Flemons on a number of reforms instituted after 1798, when the Dark Ages ended. These reforms include the Bible, the Spirit of Prophecy, the Sanctuary, the Sabbath, Worship, Country Living, as well as Financial, Education, Home, Prophetic, Faith, Unity, and Health reforms in his series “Preparation for the Final Crisis.” He says, “It’s preparation for Heaven.”

Actually, and he noted that dress reform was the first reform given to Adam and Eve after they sinned. Their sin was immediately reflected in their dress. They exposed their nakedness. And immediately, they saw it. In an attempt to cover their nakedness, they sewed together fig leaves. But it wasn’t enough. God clothed them with coats of animal skin. An animal had to die. Death immediately became a reality. Their original garment had been a beautiful soft light, says Pastor Flemons. They had reflected the light of Christ.

Pastor Flemons says, “Christ had to change His clothes to save us. And some of us are unwilling to change our clothes to be saved.” He noted that for Christ to come to Earth to save mankind, He had to put off the brightness of His light and be clothed in the garb of humanity. Yet humanity finds it so difficult to simply change garments to be identified with Christ.

The best example of this that Pastor Flemons says he could find is in the parable of the wedding banquet. Guests of the feast were given special garments. One guest, however, refused to wear the garment required by the king. The wedding garment in the parable represents the character of the guest. It was the character of Christ given to the guests.

Ellen White says it this way: “This garment was a gift from the king. By wearing it the guests showed their respect for the giver of the feast. But one man was clothed in his common citizen dress. He had refused to make the preparation required by the king. The garment provided for him at great cost he disdained to wear. Thus he insulted his lord. To the king’s demand, ‘How camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment?’ he could answer nothing. He was self-condemned. Then the king said, ‘Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness.'” {COL 309.3}

Before the coming of Christ, while the work of Investigative Judgment continues, our characters must reflect the character of Christ or we will be lost. And our dress will testify of our character. Yes, says Pastor Flemons, your “clothing is a representation of your character.”

“Righteousness is right doing, and it is by their deeds that all will be judged. Our characters are revealed by what we do. The works show whether the faith is genuine.” {COL 312.2}

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that there is a link between bras and breast cancer. Yes. You can be dressed to actually kill yourself. That thought gives the expression “dressed to kill” a deeper understanding.

Cells give off exhaust, says Pastor Flemons. Therefore anything that restricts the body interferes with the natural exhaust of the cells. Lymph flow is inhibited. Toxins are contained.

Such restrictions are enhanced by wearing the pushup bra, strapless bras and synthetic bras. Though these are popular bras, they increase your risk of breast cancer. In fact, they may be the real reason that breast cancer is so popular among women. It is far better, far healthier to wear the unpopular cotton bra that allows moisture to freely flow.
