Worship: The First Angel’s Message / Wellness: Brain Health Tonic

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake
“God is always at least one step ahead of the devil,” says Pastor Flemons. He referred to the story in Esther, where the sleepless king realized that he had neglected to reward Mordecai for his faithfulness to the king. That same evening, evil Haman was preparing to hang Mordecai, whom he hated. The timely reward of the king saved Mordecai and led to the eventual hanging of Haman instead.

Likewise, says Pastor Flemons, “He [God] was at least one step ahead of the devil and Darwin.” He referred to the time of the first angel’s message released in 1844. It predated the 1859 release of Charles Darwin’s Origin of the Species, promoting his theory of evolution.

Sarah Peck says that Darwin’s Origin of the Species “was Satan’s plot to undermine faith in the Sabbath of the fourth commandment – the day that commemorates the creation of this world and points out its true origin. This doctrine would also undermine faith in Christ and in the Judgment message itself, for if man can develop, or evolve, by a power inherent within himself, he would in time be fit for heaven, and there would be no need of a Judgment or of a Saviour.”

The first angel’s message of Revelation 14 directs the world’s attention to God as creator of “heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.” The language, noticeably much like that of the fourth commandment, the seal of God, also drives the attention of the world to God’s Ten Commandment universal law. “In fact, the proclamation of the Sabbath of the Lord as an integral part of this Judgment message was a pre-warning against the then rising teaching of evolution.”

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that TOR’s Brain Health tonic is for memory issues and stress. It provides more blood circulation, which improves feelings of depression, although it is not designed specifically for depression as is TOR’s Happiness Tea/Tonic. It is a powder that you take with water or juice.

Pastor Flemons discussed each herbal ingredient, including Bacopa Monnieri, Eleutherococcus (formerly called Siberian Ginseng), Ginkgo Biloba, Gotu Kola, Panax Ginseng, Rhodiola, and Rosemary.

Using several web sites, Pastor Flemons read benefits of the herbal ingredients. Bacopa Monnieri, he says, “increases mental function, works as an antidepressant, helps reduce stress, decreases inflammation, assists in epilepsy treatment, stimulates Alzheimer’s and dementia treatment, . . . and it regulates blood pressure.” It even helps ADHD symptoms.

Eleutherocaucus is an adaptogen, he says, and is beneficial for “physical stamina and mental alertness.” It is good for colds and flu. It gets rid of herpes, is anti-cancer, and improves learning and memory.

Ginkgo Biloba contains powerful antioxidants, improves circulation and heart health. It reduces symptoms of psychiatric disorders and dementia. It improves brain function and well-being. It can reduce anxiety, treat depression, while supporting vision and eye health.

“Gotu kola is used for fatigue, anxiety, depression, psychiatric disorders, Alzheimer’s disease, and improves memory and intelligence. Other uses include wound healing; trauma; circulation problems, such as venous insufficiency, including varicose veins,” even blood clots in the leg.

Panex Ginseng is a potent antioxidant that reduces inflammation and benefits brain function. It also improves erectile dysfunction, boosts the immune system, fights cancer and tiredness, while it increases energy levels and lowers blood sugar.

Rotiola decreases stress, fights fatigue, helps reduce symptoms of depression, improves brain function, increases exercise performance, helps control diabetes, and may have anti-cancer properties, he says.

Rosemary is an antioxidant with antiinflammatory compounds that provide neurological protection and enhances memory and concentration. It also prevents brain aging, improves digestion, and protects against macular degeneration.
