Worship: The Special Resurrection / Wellness: The Happy Healing Heart

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake There will be a special resurrection for those who die in the Lord, having heard the third angel’s message. This special resurrection will precede the general resurrection that we read about in 1 Thessalonians 4, says Pastor Flemons. He then read verses 13-18 and referred to a prophetic passage that outlines the resurrections at the second coming of Christ and explains “Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from henceforth” (Revelation 14:13).

“Graves are opened, and ‘many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth … awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.’ Daniel 12:2. All who have died in the faith of the third angel’s message come forth from the tomb glorified, to hear God’s covenant of peace with those who have kept His law.68 {FLB 182.4} Those who had died in faith under the third angel’s message, keeping the Sabbath, came forth from their dusty beds.69 {FLB 182.5} ‘They also which pierced him’ (Revelation 1:7), those that mocked and derided Christ’s dying agonies, and the most violent opposers of His truth and His people, are raised to behold Him in His glory, and to see the honor placed upon the loyal and obedient…. {FLB 182.6} The voice of God is heard from heaven, declaring the day and hour of Jesus’ coming, and delivering the everlasting covenant to His people. And when the blessing is pronounced on those who have honored God by keeping His Sabbath holy, there is a mighty shout of victory.”70 {FLB 182.7}

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, sang Proverbs 17:22 and explained why a merry heart is like good medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.

He says that when we are happy our bodies produce a chemical called endorphins. “Endorphins are called ‘happy hormones.'” They build your immune system, help balance your hormones, and help you absorb more nutrition. It really does affect your blood. The Bible says it. And science has proven it, he says.

Furthermore, the Bible says “Happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.” (Read Psalm 144:15.) Pastor Flemons adds, “If we haven’t surrendered to God, we can’t be happy.” In fact, neither can we be truly healthy.
