Worship: A Pharisee Is Sad You See, Part 12 / Wellness: News Flash for Hot Flashes

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake
Pharisees are self-deceived, self-righteous, self-proclaimed Christians that push doctrine to the extent of capital punishment for the erring (thinking they are doing God a favor). All the while, they fail to realize when they themselves are in error. Still, God loves Pharisees. He wants them all saved. And He has a soul-winning plan for the Pharisee, who is willing to forsake Pharisaism. For Pharisaism drives people out of the church.

Confessing to having been a Pharisee himself, Pastor Flemons says that he wants to help save other Pharisees, everywhere. He realizes that this goal is extremely difficult with extremely little hope for great success. Still, in light of the Apostle Paul’s conversion and singular contribution to the church, it is believed that this series has been well worth the effort.

In his final appeal, Pastor Flemons suggested that everyone would do well to examine him- or herself to determine what manner of person he or she is. It is the condition of the heart that makes all the difference. Otherwise, being and following the works of the Pharisee is sad, you see.

[For further details, please read Matthew 15:10-14; Psalm 26:2; and Psalm 139:23, 24. Also, listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang Hymn 547, “Be Thou My Vision.”]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, taught how to overcome hot flashes. “It is an issue of menopause,” says Pastor Flemons. He says because we tend to live highly stressed lives during younger years, the adrenal glands are so strained that in the latter years, the body’s thermostat is off course. In its effort to drain out the last bit of estrogen from the ovaries, the body’s temperature temporarily rises. We call such events hot flashes.

When this happens herbs that help the body produce estrogen is the answer. Black cohosh and dong quai are great estrogen herbs. Together with panax ginseng, evening primrose oil, and kava, they compose the top five herbs that help reduce hot flashes, says Pastor Flemons. They come in various forms, like extracts, teas, capsules, cremes, and powders. The powder can be one of your ingredients in making smoothies. And that’s the news flash for hot flashes.
