Hardened Heart and Hardened Arteries

Hardened heart

The hardened heart

Posted by Shelem Flemons on Monday, August 12, 2019

Pastor Flemons discussed Mark 3:1-6. In this story of the man with the withered hand who was healed by Christ, we see that Christ was grieved because of the hardness of their hearts. See vs. 5.

Pastor Flemons then took us to several scriptures in Exodus wherein it was stated that God hardened Pharoah’s heart. In each case we see that God was merely performing miracles and Pharaoh was responding in a negative way to the miracles. Thus the hardened heart is a heart that responds wrongly to the miracles of God. He has done so much for each of us and these miracles are designed to seal our decision as to whether we will serve Him.

For more information listen to the recording.

Supporting Scriptures follow.

Mark 3:1   And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand.  2 And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.  3 And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth. 4 And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.  5 And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.  6 And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.

Ex. 4:21 And the LORD said unto Moses, When thou goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.

Ex. 7:3 And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt.

Ex. 14:4 And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did so.

Ex. 14:17 And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them: and I will get me honour upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

Shelem Flemons, a doctor of Biblical wellness discuss atherosclerosis known also as hardening of the arteries. He says, if we eat a plant based diet, we can reverse the plaque buildup in our arteries. The cholesterol plaque comes from animal products mainly. Also, if we have excessive stress and sugar, our cholesterol will tend to remain high. Finally, we were encouraged to follow the REFRESHING way lifestyle.

True confession is always of a specific character, and acknowledges particular sins. They may be of such a nature as to be brought before God only; they may be wrongs that should be confessed to individuals who have suffered injury through them; or they may be of a public character, and should then be as publicly confessed. But all confession should be definite and to the point, acknowledging the very sins of which you are guilty. { SC 38.1}

“There is a vast difference between admitting facts after they have been proved and confessing sins known only to ourselves and to God.” Patriarchs and Prophets, p. 498

“But there are those among us who will make confessions, as did Achan, too late to save themselves.” Testimonies, Volume 3, p. 272

THE UNPARDONABLE SIN

Pastor Flemons discussed Matt. 12:22-32 which talks about the sin against the Holy Spirit.

This is often referred to as the unpardonable sin. We learned that it is the persistent refusal to repent. When this happens, professedly religious people can stoop so low that they will call evil good and good evil. This happened in the life of Christ and gave our Savior the opportunity to teach us this important lesson.

Matt. 12:22   Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.  23 And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?  24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.  25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: 26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? 27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges. 28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. 29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house. 30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad. 31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. 32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

THE CLEANSING PRAYER IS NOW ON OUR WEBSITE

THE POWER OF PRAYER

When we come to ask mercy and blessing from God we should have a spirit of love and forgiveness in our own hearts. How can we pray, “Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors,” and yet indulge an unforgiving spirit? Matthew 6:12. If we expect our own prayers to be heard we must forgive others in the same manner and to the same extent as we hope to be forgiven.” { SC 97.1} Stepts To Christ, p. 97

If you have given offense to your friend or neighbor, you are to acknowledge your wrong, and it is his duty freely to forgive you. Then you are to seek the forgiveness of God, because the brother you have wounded is the property of God, and in injuring him you sinned against his Creator and Redeemer. Steps To Christ, p. 37

“If we have unwittingly borne false witness, if we have misstated his words, if we have injured his influence in any way, we should go to the ones with whom we have conversed about him, and take back all our injurious misstatements.” { MB 59.1} Thoughts From the Mount of Blessing p. 59

“Honesty of intention cannot stand as an excuse for not confessing errors.”

Empty, swept and garnished

Pastor Flemons discussed Matt. 12:43-45 which talks about the unclean spirit gone out from a man. That man was left, empty, swept and garnished. This represents self-righteousness as is seen in Pharisaism. The demon returned with seven others more wicked than himself and last state of that man was worse than the first.

Benefits of Fasting

The health benefits of fasting include detoxification, faster healing, radiant skin, and the increased secretion of growth and anti-aging hormones. It is also good for the digestive system as it boosts metabolism, lowers cholesterol levels, and reduces appetite, thereby managing weight and obesity. It provides relief from epilepsy, arthritis, pancreatitis, cancer, and cardiovascular issues.

The Cleansing Prayer Is Now On Our Website

The power of prayer

“Only to those who wait humbly upon God, who watch for His guidance and grace, is the Spirit given. The power of God awaits their demand and reception. This promised blessing, claimed by faith, brings all other blessings in its train.” Desire of Ages, 672

“The Spirit came upon the waiting, praying disciples with a fullness that reached every heart. The Infinite One revealed Himself in power to His church. It was as if for ages this influence had been held in restraint, and now Heaven rejoiced in being able to pour out upon the church the riches of the Spirit’s grace. And under the influence of the Spirit, words of penitence and confession mingled with songs of praise for sins forgiven. Words of thanksgiving and of prophecy were heard. All heaven bent low to behold and to adore the wisdom of matchless, incomprehensible love. Lost in wonder, the apostles exclaimed, “Herein is love.” They grasped the imparted gift. And what followed? The sword of the Spirit, newly edged with power and bathed in the lightnings of heaven, cut its way through unbelief. Thousands were converted in a day.” Act of the Apostles p. 38

Faith in the last days / TORSOE Meal Plans

Worship: For Heaven Sake

Faith in the last days

We will need a faith in the last days that will endure weariness, delay and hunger.

After Pastor Flemons shared 1 John 5:4 and Hebrews 11:6 which tell us that faith is our victory and is necessary to please God, He shared three scriptures that prove that the remnant in the last days will be characterized as having faith.

Read Revelation 13:10, Revelation 14:12, and Luke 18:8.

Sharing And Caring

The cleansing prayer

Sister Maria reviewed the cleansing prayer and shared with us that the entire cleansing prayer and the re-creation and restoration steps will be on our website.

a revival of true godliness

“A revival of true godliness among us is the greatest and most urgent of all our needs. To seek this should be our first work. There must be earnest effort to obtain the blessing of the Lord, not because God is not willing to bestow His blessing upon us, but because we are unprepared to receive it. Our heavenly Father is more willing to give His Holy Spirit to them that ask Him, than are earthly parents to give good gifts to their children. But it is our work, by confession, humiliation, repentance, and earnest prayer, to fulfill the conditions upon which God has promised to grant us His blessing. A revival need be expected only in answer to prayer.” 1 SM 121

There is nothing that Satan fears so much as that the people of God shall clear the way by removing every hindrance, so that the Lord can pour out His Spirit upon a languishing church and an impenitent congregation. If Satan had his way, there would never be another awakening, great or small, to the end of time. But we are not ignorant of his devices. It is possible to resist his power. When the way is prepared for the Spirit of God, the blessing will come. Satan can no more hinder a shower of blessing from descending upon God’s people than he can close the windows of heaven that rain cannot come upon the earth. Wicked men and devils cannot hinder the work of God, or shut out His presence from the assemblies of His people, if they will, with subdued, contrite hearts, confess and put away their sins, and in faith claim His promises. 1 SM 124

Faith Or Fraud / How To End The Fast

Listen to our entire broadcast

Worship: For Heaven Sake

Faith or fraud

The Bible declares that we will either have faith or we are a fraud.

And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith. Deut. 32:20

The word froward in the previous scripture means a fraud.

Another verse gives even more insight.

Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.  Hab. 2:4

The word “Up” in the previous verse means “presumption.”

Pastor Flemons shared a quotation from the Desire of Ages, p. 200 which informs us that presumption is a counterfeit of faith. Faith claims God’s promises and meets the conditions, while presumption claims God’s promises while the claimant is living in disobedience.

It’s a form of identity theft and that is what makes it a fraud. If we claim God’s name by saying we are Christians, we should be children of faith. If we are disobedient, we are counterfeit Christians.

How to end the fast

This is day 8 of our 10 day fast. Sister Maria Flemons shared tips on how to end our ten day fast this coming Sabbath (Saturday).

She encouraged us to go easy and eat raw for at least 3 days. We were also encouraged not to eat heavy foods such as processed, vegetarian meats or too many beans and nuts. As you might be faced with potluck dinner this weekend, bring your juice and smoothies with you. Have a plan. Finally, we were informed that our stomachs will have shrunk and therefore, we need to keep our servings small at first.

Sharing And Caring

We finished step 4 in the re-creation and restoration section of the cleansing prayer.

To review, step one was asking Jesus to restore the perfect plan that He has ordained for us to follow when His mind conceived us and heal the damage that sin has made in our mind and emotions. Bible promises were given in a previous broadcast for this step.

Step two is to ask Jesus to fulfill His covenant promise by recreating His character in you as He writes His law in our hearts. Bible promises were given in a previous broadcast for this step.

Step three let us know that we are dependent upon the Holy Spirit for every aspect of our lives. Bible promises were given in a previous broadcast for this step.

For today, Step four is to ask the Lord to help you to hear his still small voice and not harbor wrong thoughts and feelings. Is. 30:21 was quoted as a promise. Ezekiel 37:23 is another scripture that be claimed. An addition scripture is John 10:16.

Do not demand Healing but be submissive to god’s will

Said Christ, “If any man serve Me, him will My Father honor.” When we come to Him we should pray that we might enter into and accomplish His purpose, and that our desires and interests might be lost in His. We should acknowledge our acceptance of His will, not praying Him to concede to ours. It is better for us that God does not always answer our prayers just when we desire and in just the manner we wish. He will do more and better for us than to accomplish all our wishes; for our wisdom is folly. { CH 378.3}

We have united in earnest prayer around the sickbed of men, women, and children, and have felt that they were given back to us from the dead in answer to our earnest prayers. In these prayers we thought we must be positive, and if we exercised faith, that we must ask for nothing less than life. We dared not say, “If it will glorify God,“ fearing it would admit a semblance of doubt. We have anxiously watched those who have been given back, as it were, from the dead. We have seen some of these, especially youth, raised to health, and they have forgotten God, become dissolute in life, causing sorrow and anguish to parents and friends, and have become a shame to those who feared to pray. They lived not to honor and glorify God, but to curse Him with their lives of vice. { CH 378.4}

Here is an additional copy of the cleansing prayer

  1. 1. Begin your prayer by praising God, offering thanksgiving to Him by naming specific blessings you have received, especially during the last 24 hours.
  2. 2. Ask our heavenly father to reveal any sin; hurtful memories; negative, sinful behavior; thoughts; feelings; or motives that you may be harboring in your heart. Wait quietly before him allowing him to speak to your heart.
  3. 3. Once he has revealed your sin or painful emotions, confess these by claiming his blood to cover the sin and heal your painful emotions.
  4. 4. Ask Jesus to cleanse your memories of the sin or painful emotions.
  5. 5. Ask Jesus to cleanse you to the third and fourth generation where the tendency to this sin may have been passed on through your lineage.
  6. 6. Ask Jesus to cleanse you from sin and remove the painful emotions from your amygdala.
  7. 7. Ask Jesus to cleanse your record from the sin and the memory of it.
  8. 8. Ask to be covered by the perfection of Christ’s life. You may find Scriptures that reveal the way He acted and felt in a similar situation.
  9. 9. Ask Jesus to blot out the sin and put it upon the head of the scapegoat (Satan).
  10. 10. At this point in your prayer, it is important for you to ask Jesus to cast out every demon that is responsible for leading you into the sin you have confessed and renounced.

What God Thinks About You / 10 Benefits of Celery

Worship – For Heaven Sake – What God Thinks About You

Jer. 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

God declares that He knows His own thoughts.  On the surface that might not be so impressive, but when you remember that the Bible declares that we don’t know our own hearts perfectly.

Jer. 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Therefore it is a big deal for God to know His own thoughts toward us.  His thoughts are influences by any negative bias or prejudice as are our thoughts about others or ourselves.

Either, we tend to think more highly of ourselves than we ought and this is called arrogance.  It is a type of pride.  Or, we tend to think of our selves with less value than God estimates.  This is called low self esteem and it is also a form of pride.  In both scenarios, the emphasis is all about “ME.”  We cannot have peace when we dwell on ourselves.  We have peace when our thoughts remain with God in the Most Holy Place.

Is. 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

So, God says that His th0ughts of us are thoughts of peace. That means that he wants us to have peace.  That means that He wants us always to keep our minds stayed on Him.

In order to have perfect peace, we must always be obedient, for disobedience.

Psa. 119:165   Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.

Therefore God wants us to constantly dwell on His lovely character and be obedient to His law.

What is the expected end?

3John 2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

Mark 10:30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

Phil. 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Instantaneous Healing / Charcoal Foot Bath

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake In the time of Christ, Satan was not counterfeiting instantaneous healing. That is not the case today

Pastor Flemons shared several scriptures that show that Satan was not counterfeiting the healing work of Christ. However, Jesus let us know that false miracle working would be a work of Satan in the future.

Matt. 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Revelation 16:14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

Therefore, we must know what the healer is teaching, how he is living, and whether he or she is promoting that Jesus has not come in the flesh. This means that if they are not authentic, they will make excuses for sin.

  1. 1. Ask Jesus to restore the perfect plan that he had ordained for you to follow when his mind conceived you, and heal the damage that sin has made in your mind and emotions.
  2. 2. Ask Jesus to fulfill his covenant promise by re-creating his character in you, as he writes his law of love, the 10 Commandments, on your heart. You may claim Hebrews 8 verses 10 and 11. It is very important to have God guide you to specific scripture texts which address the area of your life you have just confessed. The cleansed area now needs to be filled with God’s word. Also read Ephesians 1:2; Titus 2:14; 1 Peter 2:9

Additional quotes on the power of prayer were also shared:

Prayer and Simple Remedies

Those who seek healing by prayer should not neglect to make use of the remedial agencies within their reach. It is not a denial of faith to use such remedies as God has provided to alleviate pain and to aid nature in her work of restoration. It is no denial of faith to co-operate with God, and to place themselves in the condition most favorable to recovery. God has put it in our power to obtain a knowledge of the laws of life. This knowledge has been placed within our reach for use. We should employ every facility for the restoration of health, taking every advantage possible, working in harmony with natural laws. When we have prayed for the recovery of the sick, we can work with all the more energy, thanking God that we have the privilege of co-operating with Him, and asking His blessing on the means which He Himself has provided. { MH 231, 232}

In the word of God we have instruction relative to special prayer for the recovery of the sick. But the offering of such prayer is a most solemn act, and should not be entered upon without careful consideration. In many cases of prayer for the healing of the sick, that which is called faith is nothing less than presumption. { GW 215.2}

Big Rocks First / Sea Salt Flush

LISTEN

Facebook video of the main worship and the main wellness messages are at the end of the blog.

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake When you strive to keep God’s law, you must put in the big rocks first.

Place into a wide mouth jar all the big rocks that the jar can hold. Next, add all the small pebbles that will fit. Then add all the sand you can squeeze in. Finally add water until its filled to the brim. If you could separate the rocks, pebbles, sand, and water into separate containers and attempted to add them to the jar in any other order, the contents would not fit. They must be placed in that order, starting with the big rocks first.

Pastor Flemons applied this analogy to Matt. 23:23 wherein Jesus told the Pharisees that they were omitting the weightier matters of the law. What were these weightier matters? It was judgment, mercy and faith.

Judgment which is justice refers to right doing. We must overcome sin but the power of God. Mercy allows us to represent the love of God to others. Faith is that element that gives us the victory.

Those who don’t put the these big rocks first are pharisaical. They don’t do the cleansing prayer or some similar exercise that reveals to them their defects. They focus on the sins of others and this makes them feel that they have arrived, when in actuality they are far from the kingdom.

  1. 1. Ask Jesus to restore the perfect plan that he had ordained for you to follow when his mind conceived you, and heal the damage that sin has made in your mind and emotions.

Here are some scriptures that help understand this point.

Psa. 139:16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

Psa. 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:  24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Psa. 23:3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Jer. 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Here is a copy of the cleansing praye

1. Begin your prayer by praising God, offering thanksgiving to Him by naming specific blessings you have received, especially during the last 24 hours.
2. Ask our heavenly father to reveal any sin; hurtful memories; negative, sinful behavior; thoughts; feelings; or motives that you may be harboring in your heart. Wait quietly before him allowing him to speak to your heart.
3. Once he has revealed your sin or painful emotions, confess these by claiming his blood to cover the sin and heal your painful emotions.
4. Ask Jesus to cleanse your memories of the sin or painful emotions.
5. Ask Jesus to cleanse you to the third and fourth generation where the tendency to this sin may have been passed on through your lineage.
6. Ask Jesus to cleanse you from sin and remove the painful emotions from your amygdala.
7. Ask Jesus to cleanse your record from the sin and the memory of it.
8. Ask to be covered by the perfection of Christ’s life. You may find Scriptures that reveal the way He acted and felt in a similar situation.
9. Ask Jesus to blot out the sin and put it upon the head of the scapegoat (Satan).
10. At this point in your prayer, it is important for you to ask Jesus to cast out every demon that is responsible for leading you into the sin you have confessed and renounced.

An Important Lesson

Not all understand these principles. Many who seek the Lord’s healing mercy think that they must have a direct and immediate answer to their prayers or their faith is defective. For this reason, those who are weakened by disease need to be counseled wisely, that they may act with discretion. They should not disregard their duty to the friends who may survive them, or neglect to employ nature’s agencies for the restoration of health. { MH 231.1}
Often there is danger of error here. Believing that they will be healed in answer to prayer, some fear to do anything that might seem to indicate a lack of faith. But they should not neglect to set their affairs in order as they would desire to do if they expected to be removed by death. Nor should they fear to utter words of encouragement or counsel which at the parting hour they wish to speak to their loved ones. { MH 231.2}

Facebook video of the main worship and the main wellness messages are at the end of the blog.

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake When you pray, picture yourself in the Most Holy place taking to the Father and Son.

Not because we see or feel that God hears us are we to believe. We are to trust in His promises. When we come to Him in faith, every petition enters the heart of God. When we have asked for His blessing, we should believe that we receive it, and thank Him that we have received it. Then we are to go about our duties, assured that the blessing will be realized when we need it most. DA 200

When we have learned to do this, we shall know that our prayers are answered. God will do for us “exceeding abundantly,” “according to the riches of His glory,” and “the working of His mighty power.” Ephesians 3:20, 16; 1:19.  DA 200

Pastor Flemons sang a scripture song based upon 1 John 5:14,15. “And this is the confidence that we have in him that if we ask anything according to His will, he heareth us. And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever ask, we know that we have the petition that we desire of him.”

During the broadcast, the pastor’s call dropped, the first time in 1303 broadcasts. He believes that the devil does not want the people to hear these messages of on prayer and faith. He read the following quote in support of Satan’s distaste for our fasting and prayer:

“Satan cannot endure to have his powerful rival appealed to, for he fears and trembles before His [Christ’s] strength and majesty. At the sound of fervent prayer, Satan’s whole host trembles…. “MYP 53

Worship: For Health’s Sake Pastor Flemons gave us some instructions to help us through the fast when we need something warm on our stomachs. It’s a quick potato soup. Cube a large potato or use the small potatoes. Boil them for 15 minutes.. Place the potatoes in a high powered blender and add enough water to cover the potatoes. More water makes it thinner and less water makes it thicker. Blend until the soup is piping hot, usually about 3 minutes in a vitamix or blendec blender.

Season the soup and its ready to enjoy! This can be drunk in place of a smoothie.

We are also relisting the general juice recipe for our 10 day cleanse. This is day 3.

TORSOE LEAN GREEN JUICE

1 Bunch of kale

1 Stalk of celery

1 large cucumber

1/2 lemon

1 inch of ginger root

Juice all ingredients

Sharing and Caring Time  Sis. Maria gave us steps 7-10 of “The Cleansing Prayer.”

  1. 1. “Ask God to reveal anything that has separated you from Him. This may include wrong behavior, negative thoughts, sinful feelings, wrong desires, criticism, resentment, and bitterness or painful memories” These painful memories can date back to our childhood.

When Praying For the Sick

The desire of God for every human being is expressed in the words, ‘Beloved I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.’ 3 John 2. He it is who ‘forgiveth all thine iniquities; who health all thy diseases; who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowned the the with loving kindness and tender mercies.” Psalms 103:3,4 (The Ministry of Healing page 113)

God knows the end from the beginning. He is acquainted with the hearts of all men. He reads every secret of the soul. He knows whether those for whom prayer is offered would or would not be able to endure the trials that would come upon them should they live. He knows whether their lives would be a blessing or a curse to themselves and to the world. This is one reason why, while presenting our petitions with earnestness, we should say, “Nevertheless not my will, but Thine, be done.” Luke 22:42. Jesus added these words of submission to the wisdom and will of God when in the Garden of Gethsemane He pleaded, “O My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from Me.” Matthew 26:39. And if they were appropriate for Him, the Son of God, how much more are they becoming on the lips of finite, erring mortals! { MH 230.1}
The consistent course is to commit our desires to our all-wise heavenly Father, and then, in perfect confidence, trust all to Him. We know that God hears us if we ask according to His will. But to press our petitions without a submissive spirit is not right; our prayers must take the form, not of command, but of intercession. { MH 230.2}
There are cases where God works decidedly by His divine power in the restoration of health. But not all the sick are healed. Many are laid away to sleep in Jesus. John on the Isle of Patmos was bidden to write: “Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them.” Revelation 14:13. From this we see that if persons are not raised to health, they should not on this account be judged as wanting in faith. { MH 230.3}

Faith Defined – Epsom Salt Detox Bath

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake There are two primary components of faith both spoken of and illustrated in scripture.

According to Hebrews 11:6, “Without faith it is impossible to please him, for He that cometh to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

The first step of faith is believing that God is able to help. That is what is meant by believing that “He is.” How do we come to that conclusion? In Exodus 3:14, God told Moses to introduce Him as “I AM!” Notice that “He is” is the third person of “I am.” Both are incomplete phrases by our human grammatical standards. The apparent reason for the imcomplete phrases is that anything you add to “I am” is limiting. I am Shelem Flemons. That means that I cannot be anyone else but Shelem Flemons. I am limited to that identity if that is who I am. Because the only limits on God are that He cannot lie or fail, He is limitless as far as rendering any help that we may need. Therefore, God taught step one of faith by letting us know that He has unlimited power.

In step two of faith, we are told that we must believe that God is a rewarder of them that diligently seek God. This means that God is very willing to help us. This shows us how much He loves and cares for us. Thus if we have faith, we will believe that God is both able and willing to help us.

The story of Jacob illustrates these points of faith better than any other in scripture. In Genesis 28, Jacob saw God on top of a ladder stretching from heaven to earth with angels ascending and descending its rungs. This showed God as a supreme administrator superintending an entire universe. From that Jacob concluded that God is able to protect him as he was running from his brother.

Then in Genesis 32, Jacob wrestled with Jesus all night. That means that Jesus symbolically walked down that ladder and when he came near Jacob, he embraced him. Jacob, of course, thought him to be an enemy. This showed the love and compassion of God.

Having both of these experiences to round off his faith, Jacob was prepared to meet his bother Esau. We must also believe that God is able and very willing to give us the desires of our heart.

Worship: For Health’s Sake Sister Maria, the wife of Pastor Flemons, gave instructions on the Epsom salts detox bath. It is made with 1/4 cup of epsom salts in a bath of warm water. Soak for no more than 3o minutes so toxins are not reabsorbed. It was discussed that using more epsom salts is permissible but 1/4 cup is therapeutic.

The Use of Remedial Agencies

The desire of God for every human being is expressed in the words, ‘Beloved I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.’ 3 John 2. He it is who ‘forgiveth all thine iniquities; who health all thy diseases; who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowned the the with loving kindness and tender mercies.” Psalms 103:3,4 (The Ministry of Healing page 113)

Those who seek healing by prayer should not neglect to make use of the remedial agencies within their reach. It is not a denial of faith to use such remedies as God has provided to alleviate pain and to aid nature in her work of restoration. It is no denial of faith to co-operate with God, and to place themselves in the condition most favorable to recovery. God has put it in our power to obtain a knowledge of the laws of life. This knowledge has been placed within our reach for use. We should employ every facility for the restoration of health, taking every advantage possible, working in harmony with natural laws.
