Worship: Time No Longer / Wellness: Most People Are Constipated

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  “The message of Revelation 14, proclaiming that the hour of God’s judgment is come, is given in the time of the end; and the angel of Revelation 10 is represented as having one foot on the sea and one foot on the land, showing that the message will be carried to distant lands, the ocean will be crossed, and the islands of the sea will hear the proclamation of the last message of warning to our world. {2SM 107.3}

“… This message announces the end of the prophetic periods.” 2SM 108

Pastor Flemons looked at some issues and challenges of the church relative to an earnest yearning for Jesus to come. Recent methods of calculations relative to this time have failed, he says. There was to be no more time period prophesies, as Jesus can hasten or delay His coming. Be aware, says Pastor Flemons, that men of renown may err. People do not have to be bad to be wrong, he says.

“All has taken place as He has predicted through His prophets. He has not left His church in darkness, forsaken, but has traced in prophetic declarations what would occur, and through His providence, acting in its appointed place in the world’s history, He has brought about that which His Holy Spirit inspired the prophets to foretell. All His purposes will be fulfilled and established. His law is linked with His throne, and satanic agencies combined with human agencies cannot destroy it. Truth is inspired and guarded by God; it will live, and will succeed, although it may appear at times to be overshadowed. The gospel of Christ is the law exemplified in character. The deceptions practiced against it, every device for vindicating falsehood, every error forged by satanic agencies, will eventually be eternally broken, and the triumph of truth will be like the appearing of the sun at noonday. The Sun of Righteousness shall shine forth with healing in His wings, and the whole earth shall be filled with His glory.” {2SM 108.2}

If we could just follow principle without violation, says Pastor Flemons, we will be safe. We should never question a prophet who speaks under inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Take serious heed to the Word of the Lord. “Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper” (2 Chronicles 20:20).

[For additional details, please read Revelation 10:1-7; Ellen G. White’s Selected Messages, Book 2, pp 107, 108 (2SM 107, 108); 2 Chronicles 20:20. Also, listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang Hymn 212, “Tis Almost Time for the LORD to Come.”]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that most people are constipated. John Harvey Kellogg, says Pastor Flemons, was foremost in understanding the colon. He says that Dr. Kellogg concluded bowel movements should correlate to the number of meals taken per day. Pastor Flemons does not fully agree with that. He says if bowels move at least once a day, it’s a good thing. Dr. Kellogg had discovered that if food stays in the colon for more than 25 hours, it begins to putrefy.

A lot of people are dehydrated, says Pastor Flemons, who discussed dehydration in detail in the previous wellness segment. Dehydration, a lack of fiber, and a lack of exercise: each interferes with proper elimination. Stress, rather distress, also will shut down the elimination of the bowels, says Pastor Flemons. He explained in detail how this happens.

Nevertheless, he says to keep the bowels operating at optimal levels, drink plenty of water, at least half of your body’s weight in ounces. Take flaxseed. You may want to blend it into a powder first. Then sprinkle it over your foods for healthier bowel movements. Psyllium husks, which sweep the bowel, help as well. And avoid foods that have no fiber, like animal products and white flour products. And by all means, exercise regularly and avoid becoming distressed by relying on God.

Words of Encouragement

James 1:4  But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. (Also read Conflict and Courage for April 13, CC 109.)

Proverbs 4:7   Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. (Also read With God at Dawn for April 13, WGD 105.)

Worship: HIS Name in Our Foreheads / Wellness: Most People Are Dehydrated

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  God has been steadily working to prepare His people for the coming global crisis and for the Second Coming of Christ. The end goal is to perfectly create the character of Christ in His people. It is referred to as having His name written in our foreheads. When God’s name or character is written in our foreheads, we will decide rightly for good.

Modern medicine has discovered that the forehead is seat of decision-making, specifically between right and wrong. The frontal lobe, located there, houses our ability to decide moral issues. All the reforms just studied are designed to help lay the foundation for right doing, for the building of God’s character in man.

Are you willing for the LORD to have His way in you? Will you let GOD stamp His name on your forehead, that you may have His character? He is “merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty” (Exodus 34:6, 7).

[For additional details, please read Revelation 14:1; Rev 22:1-4; Exodus 33:18, 19; Exodus  34:5-7; Revelation 22:11; Revelation  12:17; 19:10; 2 Corinthians 11:2; and Amos 3:7. Also, listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang Hymn 229, “All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name.”]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that most people are acidic, because most people are dehydrated! When we don’t drink enough water, we naturally build up toxins in the system. And because people do not tend to daily drink half of their body’s weight in ounces, a whole host of problems can ensue in every organ of elimination, which relies on water for proper functioning. “We are sick, because we are toxic,” he says.

Referring to the book Your Many Cries for Water, Pastor Flemons discussed how dehydration leads to conditions, like arthritis and swelling in the joints. He suggests drinking warm water early in the morning as a good beginning. Just continue to drink it throughout the day between meals with at least an hour from any meal, he says. Also, add a bit of fresh lemon juice to the water. It’s a cleansing agent. Inspect your urine. If it is yellow, drink more water, because you are dehydrated.

Words of Encouragement

2 Peter 2:10  These men are arrogant and presumptuous—they think nothing of scoffing at the glories of the unseen world. (Also read Conflict and Courage for April 12, CC 108.)

Psalm 55:22  Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. (Also read With God at Dawn for April 12, WGD 104.)

Worship: Dress Reform, the Conclusion / Wellness: The New Caffeine

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Dress reform (presented in its own mini-series) follows talks by Pastor Flemons on a number of reforms instituted after 1798, when the Dark Ages ended. These reforms include the Bible, the Spirit of Prophecy, the Sanctuary, the Sabbath, Worship, Country Living, as well as Financial, Education, Home, Prophetic, Faith, Unity, and Health reforms in his series “Preparation for the Final Crisis,” which he says is “preparation for Heaven.”

Concluding his talk on dress reform, Pastor Flemons said, “God wants us to witness to people simply by our dress.” In fact, he said, “Christianity should emanate from the inside out. . . Our dress should make the statement that we belong to Him.”

With a personal testimony and using the parable of the fig tree, comparing it to the account of Adam and Eve sewing together fig leaves that revealed their guilt, Pastor Flemons discussed the importance of truly bearing the fruit of the Holy Spirit inwardly. He shared related Bible texts. Then he encouraged us to let our light shine through the outward appearance of our clothing. Others are affected, either for good or for evil.

Yes, says Pastor Flemons. “We are our brother’s keepers.” Finally, don’t crossdress. According to Deuteronomy 22:5, it’s an abomination to God.

[For additional details, please read  Psalm 1:1-3; Isaiah 44:3; Galatians 5:22, 23; Matthew 21:19; and Ellen G. White’s Testimonies for the Church, vol. 1, p 421.4 (1T 421.4). Also, listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons.]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that the real new caffeine is safe: “It’s called rest!” Nothing is better at rejeuvenating the body than sleep.

The next best thing, he says, is “sipping on TOR’s Supertonic in grape juice.” Since he travels a lot, Pastor Flemons offered some tips for sustaining energy when you are tired. If you are on the road, pull over to a hotel before 11pm, sit in the lounge, and get a quick catnap. (Just put your head back. Don’t sprawl out!) If that’s not an option, it’s still not wise to pull over on the side of the road or even sleep at a rest stop. It’s too dangerous. If you must, park in a high traffic area nearest the front door and camera for your nap at a QwikTrip or a RaceTrac gas station, for instance.

Drink water. “It is the beverage of life,” he says. Drink orange juice. Roll down the window and get fresh air. But don’t drink coffee and other caffeinated beverages. The caffeine may stimulate you a bit. But at what cost? Caffeine irritates the stomach and dehydrates the system. It helps increase risk of hypertension, because it constricts blood vessels. It irritates the attitude, because it alters the mind: “your thinking and your nerves,” says Pastor Flemons.

Rather, take TOR’s Supertonic in water or grape juice, as Pastor Flemons does, and trust the LORD.

Worship: Dress, Index to the Heart / Wellness: Bugleweed and Cabbage Juice for Hyperthyroidism

In the book Christian Temperance and Bible Hygiene, written by Ellen G. White, the subject of dress required a full chapter. Pastor Flemons read the final segment of it, including the following selected statements:

“The outside appearance is an index to the heart. True refinement does not find satisfaction in the adorning of the body for display. A modest, godly woman will dress modestly. Simplicity of apparel always makes a sensible woman appear to the best advantage. A refined, cultured mind will be revealed in the choice of simple and appropriate attire. In the sanctified heart there is no place for thoughts of needless adornment. {CTBH 93.1}

“The apostles thus describe the adornment that should be sought by Christians: ‘Whose adorning, let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.’ [1 Peter 3:3.] ‘In like manner, also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broidered hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; but (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.” [1 Timothy 2:9.] Pride and extravagance in dress are sins to which woman is especially prone; hence these injunctions relate directly to her. {CTBH 93.3}

[For additional details, please read Christian Temperance and Bible Hygiene, by Ellen G. White, Chapter 10 “Dress,” particularly, pp 92.1-95.2 (CTBH 92) and listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang Hymn 316, “Live Out Thy Life Within Me.”]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that a hyperthyroid is not as common as hypothyroid, which manifests itself in slow heart rates. With hyperthyroidism, the heart flutters at a fast pace. The thyroid, as you may see, is the body’s metabolism regulator.

In either case, says Pastor Flemons, the system needs to be cleansed. The choice of vegetables to be juiced, however, must suit the need. The main juice to use for hyperthyroidism should be cabbage. Cruciferous vegetables, he says, slow down the metabolism. Therefore, those with hypothyroidism must “back off” from cabbage and other cruciferous vegetables, which include broccoli, cauliflower, bok choy, and collards.

Help for hyperthyroidism include the herbs bugleweed and motherwort, which specifically slows the metabolism and heart rate. Therefore, these herbs are ones to be avoided by those with hypothyroidism.

According to Wikipedia, “Signs and symptoms [of hyperthyroidism] vary between people and may include irritability, muscle weakness, sleeping problems, a fast heartbeat, heat intolerance, diarrhea, enlargement of the thyroid, hand tremor, and weight loss.[1] Symptoms are typically less in the old and during pregnancy.[1]

Worship: Dress for Your Health / Wellness: Vaginal Dryness? Coconut Oil

Christian Temperance and Bible Hygiene, a book written by Ellen G. White, treats the subject of dress in a full chapter. Pastor Flemons continued reading a portion of it, which includes these select statements:

“Perfect health depends upon perfect circulation. . . .The dress should fit easily, obstructing neither the circulation of the blood, nor a free, full, natural respiration. The feet should be suitably protected from cold and damp. Clad in this way, we can take exercise in the open air, even in the dew of morning or evening, or after a fall of snow or rain, without fear of taking cold. Exercise in the invigorating air of heaven is necessary to a healthy circulation of the blood. It is the best safeguard against colds, coughs, and the internal congestions which lay the foundation of so many diseases. True dress reform regulates every article of clothing. If those ladies who are failing in health would lay off their fashionable robes, clothe themselves suitably for out-door enjoyment, and exercise in the open air, carefully at first, increasing the amount as they can endure it, many of them might recover health, and live to bless the world with their example and the work of their hands.” {CTBH 89.1}

“The limbs, being remote from the center of circulation, demand greater protection, instead of less. The veins which convey the blood to the extremities are large, providing for the flow of a sufficient quantity of blood to afford warmth and nutrition. But when the blood is chilled from these parts, the veins contract, and the circulation is retarded. Not only do the extremities suffer from cold, but through lack of nutrition the limbs do not attain their natural development. A good circulation purifies the blood, and secures health; while a poor circulation renders the blood impure, and induces congestion of the vital organs. {CTBH 91.2}

[For additional details, please read Christian Temperance and Bible Hygiene, by Ellen G. White, Chapter 10 “Dress,” particularly, pp 88.2-91.3 (CTBH 88) and listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons.]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, shared a natural remedy for vaginal dryness. It is as simple as manually applying coconut oil to the wall of the vagina in a swabbing or circular motion. Taking black cohosh and don quai, drinking carrot juice, eating tofu (from a nonGMO organic source), getting sufficient rest, avoiding stress, and living a general healthy lifestyle can also prove helpful in relieving vaginal dryness.

Worship: Dress? It’s Spiritual / Wellness: Wearing High Heels? It’s Dangerous

Christian Temperance and Bible Hygiene, a book written by Ellen G. White, treats the subject of dress in a full chapter. Pastor Flemons read a portion of it. The first and last paragraphs are these:

“Fashion rules the world; and she is a tyrannical mistress, often compelling her devotees to submit to the greatest inconvenience and discomfort. Fashion taxes without reason, and collects without mercy. She has a fascinating power, and stands ready to criticise and ridicule all who do not follow in her wake.” {CTBH 85.1}

“It is Satan’s design so to pervert every function of our being that life may be made miserable, and God may be dishonored in the creatures he has made. If women make the customs of the world their criterion, they will become unfitted, both physically and mentally, for the duties of life. Many have done themselves untold injury by compressing the waist. Their power to do good in the family and in society is greatly lessened; and if they are mothers, their children are robbed of vitality. When the waist is compressed, the circulation of the blood is impeded, and the internal organs, cramped and crowded out of place, cannot perform their work properly. It is impossible, under such circumstances, to take a full inspiration. Thus the pernicious habit of breathing only with the upper part of the lungs is formed, and feebleness and disease are often the result.” {CTBH 88.1}

Pastor Flemons added that if you cannot inhale as your stomach expands effortlessly, then your clothing is too tight.

[For additional details, please read Christian Temperance and Bible Hygiene, by Ellen G. White, Chapter 10 “Dress,” particularly, pp 85 – 88 (CTBH 85) and listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons.]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, shared an article confirming what he’s been teaching for years: that wearing high heels may look fashionable; but they can hurt you in more ways than simply your feet and toes.

Wearing high heels can cause lower back pain. It can actually cause displacement of the pelvis, which then can cause female issues, adds Pastor Flemons.

It can cause sore calves, which leads to ugly protruding and extremely painful veins. It can cause broken ankles, bruised elbows and knees, and even a concussion, if you fall from walking on uneven surfaces, like cobblestones and potholes.

Because “high heels make the lower back arch out more than usual,” wearing them can cause an awkward spinal curvature that can lead to upper and lower back pain. “The stress on your foot can result in a constricted blood flow. In extreme cases, it may cause the blood vessels to break (6).” The stress can also cause the deformity called hammer toe.

They can weaken your ligaments and put stress on the knee that leads to osteoarthritis. Finally, wearing those stylish high heels all the time can hyperextend your toes permanently. That, my friends, is not too stylish at all. Those are ten side effects listed from wearing high heels. Who knows? There may be more!

John 15:4  Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. (Also read With God at Dawn for April 8, WGD 100.)

Worship: Modesty in Dress / Wellness: Importance of Rest

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Dress reform (presented in its own mini-series) follows talks by Pastor Flemons on a number of reforms instituted after 1798, when the Dark Ages ended. These reforms include the Bible, the Spirit of Prophecy, the Sanctuary, the Sabbath, Worship, Country Living, as well as Financial, Education, Home, Prophetic, Faith, Unity, and Health reforms in his series “Preparation for the Final Crisis,” which he says is “preparation for Heaven.”

Modesty in dress, says Pastor Flemons, can be related to sexual purity. Think of modesty as being careful to avoid dressing in a way that accentuates the parts of your body that needs to be seen only by your spouse. Modesty is just plain decency, says Pastor Flemons. It does not mean that you must dress with a continual head covering, for instance. And don’t be gaudy. Don’t attract attention to yourself. Simply be elegant and appropriate.

Always represent Christ. And never waste God’s money on costly array, says Pastor Flemons, who shared a recent experience in a high-end designer store.

[For additional details, please read 1 Timothy 2:9 and listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons.]

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that you can add years to your life just by getting to bed on time. In fact, he says that it is important to get rest for a number of reasons. For one, the immune system is supported by rest. But so is every other organ.

Everyone knows, he says, that it is never healthy to burn the candle at both ends. It leads to more stress and achy muscles, more colds and the tendency to get flu, even more problems with digestion. In fact, every system of the body suffers when you don’t get enough rest. You will have more acidity in the system, which leads to all kinds of challenges. It means more free radicals in the system that weaken the immune system. More calcium will be leeched from the bones. Hormones will become more imbalanced.

It is really important to set a good schedule, says Pastor Flemons. Try to get into the bed earlier than 9:30, but 9:30 at the latest, he says. And never go to bed on a full stomach of undigested food, or you won’t be resting anyway. If you must eat fairly close to going to bed, make it very light so that it can digest within a couple of hours. That would be fruit, air-popped popcorn, zwieback crackers, for instance. Hefty meals require typically five hours to fully digest.

One final piece of advice from Pastor Flemons: “Don’t burn that midnight oil. It’s gonna burn out your lights!”

Worship: Christian women started wearing pants, and God said… / Wellness: What’s Really in Your Cosmetics?

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Dress reform follows talks by Pastor Flemons on a number of reforms instituted after 1798, when the Dark Ages ended.

“We have to look at history,” says Pastor Flemons, who explained that Christian women at one time never wore pants. Women wearing pants, he says, coincides with the Industrial Revolution. Pushed by the Feminist Movement, women wanted to prove that they could do whatever men could do. At first, says Pastor Flemons, Christian women rejected the so-called new American costume.

One Christian woman, as God’s messenger, provided, in part, this response: “There is an increasing tendency to have women in their dress and appearance as near like the other sex as possible, and to fashion their dress very much like that of men, but God pronounces it abomination. ‘In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety.’ 1 Timothy 2:9.” {1T 421.3}

“I was shown that God would have us take a course consistent and explainable. Let the sisters adopt the American costume and they would destroy their own influence and that of their husbands. They would become a byword and a derision. Our Saviour says: ‘Ye are the light of the world.’ ‘Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.’ There is a great work for us to do in the world, and God would not have us take a course to lessen or destroy our influence with the world.” {1T 422.1}

[For additional details, please read Testimonies for the Church, by Ellen G. White, 1T 421.1 – 422.1. Also, listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang Hymn 185, “Jesus Is All the World to Me.”]

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, shared an article that reveals the shocking ingredients in makeup, including urine, listed as urea, and roadkill or tallow, listed as stearic acid. “Bull sperm is used in shampoo and conditioner for super shiny hair.” Infant foreskin is being “used as an anti-aging ‘revolution.'” And the scales of fish form the base of the so-called “natural pearl essence” on your bottle of nail polish.

Lead was found to be in 32 different brands of lipstick. And of these, 68 percent “exceeded the acceptable daily intake of lead within the whole container.” Parabens, which “have been found in breast cancer tumors and can contribute to hormone imbalance in females,” are used as a preservative in perfume and “are also found in 75 percent of other makeup.”

Check your foaming product for SLS, or “sodium lauryl sulfate.” It “is found in 90 percent of cosmetic products that foam.” According to the article, “SLS can strip away all essential oils from your skin that provide moisture and” [protection] “from outside elements. Once the oil is gone—it’s gone for good. SLS is also linked to endocrine system disruption and respiratory problems.”

Check all your cosmetics (foods and drinks for that matter) for FD&C. You are most likely to find FD&C color pigments. They are federally regulated pigments and are “found in almost every cosmetic item.” And you need to know this: “These pigments are highly toxic and carcinogenic and deposit toxins onto the skin from metal salts. Color pigments are also in many artificially colored foods and drinks better known as ‘Red Lake No. 40.’”

The takeaway from this article is that the only way to be safe is by simply letting your own God-given natural light shine.

Worship: Dress with Intent / Wellness: Exposed Legs Linked to Diseases

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Dress reform follows talks by Pastor Flemons on a number of reforms instituted after 1798, when the Dark Ages ended.

The way a person dresses should signify that they belong to God, says Pastor Flemons. The way a person dresses solicits a reactionary response from others. It either generates respect or disrespect. Take note. Pastor Flemons did. He shared his observations, Scripture, and a passage from the Spirit of Prophecy regarding dress that distinguishes God’s people. Then he asked a question.

Can you say today that the way you dress shows your intent to obey God? God required the people of Israel to do so. He is the same God today. He continues to expect His people to distinguish ourselves from the world with both beauty and modesty.

[For additional details, please read Numbers 15:37-41; Selected Messages, Book 2, by Ellen G. White, 2 SM 473.3. Also, listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang Hymn 517, “My Faith Looks Up to Thee.”]

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, continued his talk on being “dressed to kill” in a very real sense.

Yes. You can be dressed to actually kill yourself, not only by wearing clothes that are too tight, including synthetic bras, but by exposing the extremities, especially the legs. “The legs are a major source of disease,” says Pastor Flemons, who explained in detail how. Essentially, exposing extremities causes a constriction of blood vessels, which leads to blood becoming trapped in the core of the body. A congestion of blood that builds in the trunk or pelvic region inhibits the free flow of blood throughout the body. It places a burden on the internal organs, including the heart, the ovaries, the uterine, and for men, the prostate. It leads to problems and disease in those areas.

For your health, Pastor Flemons advises dressing the extremities like you would the trunk of the body for an overall even body temperature and freedom of blood flow.

Words of Encouragement

Proverbs 20:1  Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise. (Also read Conflict and Courage for April 5, CC 101.)

Psalm 34:11  Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord. (Also read With God at Dawn for April 5, WGD 97.)

Worship: Naked and Guilty / Wellness: Dressed to Kill Yourself

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Dress reform follows talks by Pastor Flemons on a number of reforms instituted after 1798, when the Dark Ages ended.

There is symbolism in clothing and the lack thereof. We all know that. We see it all the time. But it first existed in the Garden of Eden in a way that still applies to all humanity today.

According to Genesis 3, Adam and Eve’s very first encounter with nakedness resulted because of sin. They were guilty of disobedience to God’s expressed will for their lives. Their nakedness pointed to their guilt of sin. They had joined a group of sinners: Satan and the fallen angels. Their clothing signified it. And they were ashamed.

But before this, “A beautiful soft light, the light of God, enshrouded the holy pair. This robe of light was a symbol of their spiritual garments of heavenly innocence. Had they remained true to God it would ever have continued to enshroud them. But when sin entered, they severed their connection with God, and the light that had encircled them departed. Naked and ashamed, they tried to supply the place of the heavenly garments by sewing together fig leaves for a covering.” {COL 310.4}

But the aprons that they made, according to the Genesis 3 account, were inadequate. The aprons only partially covered and partially exposed the guilty pair. God had to sufficiently cover their nakedness with coats. Aprons versus coats: “There is a principle,” says Pastor Flemons. Nakedness still shows the guilt of sin.

[For additional details, please read Genesis 2:25; Genesis 3:7-11Revelation 3:17, 18; and Christ’s Object Lessons, by Ellen G. White, COL 310. Also, listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang Hymn 298, “I Lay My Sins on Jesus.”]

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, continued his talk on being “dressed to kill” in a very real sense. Yes. You can be dressed to actually kill yourself. When you wear too-tight clothing, you risk getting pelvic diseases, he says. For women, this can mean fibroids, which are not deadly. But it can also lead to ovarian and uterine issues, including cancer. For men, this can mean prostate cancer.

Too-tight clothing prevents tissue fluids from flowing in or out of those areas as they normally would. Toxins are therefore contained, and fresh oxygenated blood is hindered. The results can be deadly.

If your clothing leaves an imprint on your skin, it is too tight. Clothing suspended from the shoulders are healthier than heavy clothing held to the body at the waist. Suspenders are better than belts.

“Loosen it up,” says Pastor Flemons. “Don’t wear it tight!”

Words of Encouragement

Leviticus 10:1  And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the Lord, which he commanded them not. (Also read Conflict and Courage for April 4, CC 100.)

Matthew 11:28-30  Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Also read With God at Dawn for April 4, WGD 96.)
