Worship: The Lord’s Supper Instituted / Wellness: Why We Fast

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Jesus told His disciples that He desired to eat that Passover with them before He was to suffer, meaning His crucifixion. Jesus instituted the Lord’s Supper to show His death: His broken body and His blood, shed for the salvation of all who would receive it. He did not institute any ceremony that claims the bread is miraculously turned into His actual body or the wine into His actual blood. “That is witchcraft,” says Pastor Flemons.  “Knowing that the Passover as a sacred ordinance was about to pass away, Jesus now instituted the Lord’s Supper ‘as a memorial of the same event of which the Passover had been a type.’ PP 539. The paschal lamb had pointed forward to His death; the Lord’s Supper was to point back, commemorative of His broken body and His spilled blood. Luke 22:16-20.”

(For further details, listen to the recording and sing with Pastor Flemons, Hymn 163,  “At the Cross.” Also, read Luke 22:15; John 13; and 1 Cor 11:26-29.)

[This study was based on “Their Fulfillment in AD 31,” “Why Jesus Observed this Passover One Day Early,” and “The Lord’s Supper Instituted” in The Path to the Throne of God: The Sanctuary, by Sarah Elizabeth Peck, PTG 87 original; PTG 123 new edition; PTG 63 online.]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, calls fasting “feasting.” That’s because of the high nutrition extracted from the vegetables and fruits when juiced. Sometimes it is necessary to do a water-only fast for therapeutic reasons. Dieting only on raw foods is just one of the special types of fasting. But he says that juice feasting or fasting allows the body to eliminate toxins and reset the body in its proper balance. That is why we fast, rather feast. Beyond that, we feast to get closer to God. (For further details, please listen to the recording.)

Words of Encouragement

1 John 1:6-7  If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

3 John 2  Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. (Read also 5T 135.1-135.2.)

“I heard you…”  Father, thank You for making it impossible to walk in darkness and in light at the same time! Thank You for Your presence which keeps darkness at bay. I am so glad and grateful that You want only what is best for me. Please continue to prosper me temporally and spiritually and keep me in health, according to your plans and will for my life.  Ada (With permission June 5, 2018)

Worship: Two Apartments in the Heavenly Sanctuary / Wellness: Ice Rub on Steroids

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Judgment is now in session in the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary, where Jesus is officiating as our advocate and judge. “When Christ ascended, having offered Himself as a sacrifice here on earth, He went directly within the first veil ‘ the door into the holy place of the heavenly sanctuary where He was anointed High Priest’ to begin His work as Intercessor. When at the end of the 2300 days, he moved within ‘the second veil’ Heb. 9:3, He went into the most holy place, the second apartment of the heavenly sanctuary, where He began His work as Judge. Dan 7:9, 10, 13. ‘He still pleaded His blood before the Father in behalf of sinners.’ GC 429. Thus He becomes our Judge-Advocate and continues His ministry until the close of probation. . . . At this time the destiny of the entire human race is settled.”

(Please read Daniel 7:9,10; Leviticus 16; Hebrews 9:1; John 13:35; 1 Corinthians 13. Please listen to the recording to hear more important details and sing with Pastor Flemons Hymn 608, Faith Is the Victory.)

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Inflammation causes pain. Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, advises using an ice rub on steroids as first-aid for pain. A basic ice rub is simply ice rubbed over the painful area until it is numb: usually about 5 minutes minimum. An ice rub on steroids includes cayenne pepper and oils of eucalyptus and peppermint. It’s pretty simple to make. Fill a styrofoam cup three-fourths full of distilled or spring water. Add 7 drops each of cayenne pepper tincture, eucalyptus oil, and oil of peppermint. Ground cayenne pepper may be used if no tincture is available. Store the mixture in the freezer until solid. Then peel the styrofoam down to expose the top layer of ice and use, rubbing in circular motion the affected area until numb or for at least five minutes. Have a dry towel handy to wipe skin as ice melts. It’s that simple but powerfully effective.

Sharing Time  Several listeners joined in to offer their gratitude for the broadcast and the timelines of today’s wellness topic.

Special Prayer for call-in listener 4262. A first-time listener, she asks to be filled with the Holy Spirit, to succeed as a Bible instructor, and be prepared to meet Jesus, with her family and everyone else, including her enemies. Also pray for healing of those mentioned suffering back pain, for those facing the end of their lives, and for those in bereavement, especially Sis Odessa, the family of Sis Audrey’s brother-in-law (the Caldwells) and the family of Dr. Malcolm, whose funeral is today at the Oakwood University Church at noon Central Time.

Please keep Sis. Audrey’s mother in prayer. She was rushed to the hospital after broadcast this morning and has been admitted for observation.

Remember to continue praying for the entire TOR broadcast family, that GOD will be free to bless us in the way that HE really wants to in 2018. Thank you.

Words of Encouragement

1 Thessalonians 5:23, 24  And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

2 Thessalonians 3:3  But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil. (Read also Philippians 4:7, 13.)
