Worship: When You Are Betrayed / Wellness: So, You’re Too Busy to Stay Healthy?

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  The worst hurt is betrayal by someone you love and is very close to you, says Pastor Flemons. Mary and Joseph had not consummated their marriage, yet Mary was found to be pregnant. Mary and Joseph were espoused to each other. In today’s terms, they were engaged to be married. Still, Joseph was called her husband, according to Matthew 1:19. That means they were in a committed relationship as husband and wife, but they were not sexually involved yet. They were being led of God. They listened to God.

Joseph was called a just man. Joseph, believing that Mary had betrayed him with another man, was “minded” to privately put her away, not wanting to expose her publicly. Mary was pregnant, and soon the public would see the evidence. That being the  case, Joseph would still have been judged as having fornicated with her, says Pastor Flemons. Joseph demonstrated that true love for Mary. He showed that kind of love that covers a multitude of sins, according to 1 Peter 4:8.

Although Joseph felt as though he wanted to be done with the matter, he still prayed over it. He did nothing until he heard from God. Then Joseph was visited in a dream by an angel of the Lord. The angel informed him that Mary was with child of the Holy Ghost and that Joseph was to take her to himself as his wife without fear. Joseph, being a just man, simply obeyed.

If you feel betrayed, it is best to first take up the matter with God. You should be willing to listen to God. Be willing to wait for Him to respond to your prayers. Then, trust God and be willing to simply obey.

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that if you are too busy to do what it takes to stay healthy, one day you won’t be busy or healthy. He says that you should plan out your day, beginning with God, who has first claims on your body, your mind, and your spiritual well-being.

Plan to eat healthy. That would mean a total plant-based diet. Plan to get fresh air every day, while you rest, while you exercise, and while you get sunlight. Plan to drink enough water every day, which would mean drinking in ounces half of your body’s weight. It requires self-control, which also means abstaining from all things harmful, and doing in moderation only those things that are good. It requires being committed to the plan, and when necessary, being creative: like packing a lunch or cooking in advance and freezing your meals until needed.

Think of it as a REFRESHING lifestyle. R: Rely on God. E: Eat healthy. F: Fresh air. R: Rest. E: Exercise. S: Self-Control. H: H2O, drink water. I: In the sun. N: Never give up. And finally, G: Give to others. Follow the REFRESHING lifestyle, and share it with someone else.

Words of Encouragement

1 Peter 2:21-24  For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. Exodus 31:3  I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship. (Also read My Life Today, ML 110.)
