Worship: After the Pattern / Wellness: Fewer Heart Attacks, Strokes in Trans Fat-Banned Areas

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Moses was not only shown the heavenly pattern of the sanctuary but he was also instructed step-by-step exactly what must be done to accomplish it. What Moses was to have constructed was in type or symbol exactly what was going on in heaven. “Every detail represented some phase of the redemptive work of Christ. It was important, therefore, that we gain a clear understanding not only of this pattern but also its relation to the heavenly sanctuary.  . . .  Paul makes it plain that the pattern shown to Moses was but ‘a shadow’ of heavenly things, and not the ‘very image’ of those things.” And we must clearly understand that “this earth, where the true Sacrifice was offered on Calvary, is the court of the heavenly sanctuary.”

[This topic was based on “The Earthly Sanctuary a “Figure” of the Heavenly” in Path to the Throne of God, by Sarah Elizabeth Peck, PTG 79, 80 (pp 113, 114 new edition) (PTG online 58, 59 ).]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Researchers found a 6.2 percent decline in hospitalizations for heart attacks and strokes of residents living in communities where trans fats were banned in restaurants. Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, shared this information with listeners from a health.news article that also reported “the average American eats nearly five pounds of trans fats each year.”  As of June 2018, processed food manufacturers must have phased out the use of all trans fats, according to a 2015 announcement by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). “According to the American Heart Association, trans fats can be artificial or occur naturally in milk and meat products.” This supports the consistent advice of Pastor Flemons to eat a total plant-based diet, which eliminates the flesh of animals and their byproducts, such as dairy and eggs.

Words of Encouragement

1 John 2:3-5  And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him and keepeth not his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not  in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

Ezekiel 36:23, 26, 27  And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the Lord, saith the Lord God, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes. [26] A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. [27] And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

Worship: Steadfast Unto the End / Wellness: Why Soft Drinks Are HARD on You

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Before his death by crucifixion ordered by Nero, Peter wrote a second epistle, which lays out the plan for developing Christian character. (Read more below.)

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says we need to just drink water and natural drinks without the added sugar, chemicals and phosphoric acid. “Leave everything else on the shelf,” he says. Carbonated drinks pull calcium out of the bones, which leads to arthritis, osteoporosis, kidney stones, and many other health issues.

(NOTE: Before following any advice given here, please read our disclaimer on this page.)

QTQT  You must hear the personal prayer requests and the testimony of Paula, the sister of Pastor Flemons.

Special Prayer was offered for call-in listener 3976 (favor regarding property issue, wisdom for course to pursue, and character of Christ), Bro. Rush’s daughter (healing), Karriem (reconciliation), Las Vegas tragedy, and disaster challenges in Puerto Rico.

Remember to continue praying also for 9036 (foot/toes pain), 9275 (November finances) and 1716 (bereavement healing and full surrender of children, family to God), 5-year-old Caleb, Melinda, Carrie and sister (cancer), 92-year-old Stella David, an unnamed listener, and for all others who have requested our prayers. Thank you.

Words of Encouragement

Philippians 1:9, 10   And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ.

Philippians 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

For Heaven’s Sake…

“‘And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; and to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.’ AA 529.3

“These words are full of instruction, and strike the keynote of victory. The apostle presents before the believers the ladder of Christian progress, every step of which represents advancement in the knowledge of God, and in the climbing of which there is to be no standstill. Faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, and charity are the rounds of the ladder. We are saved by climbing round after round, mounting step after step, to the height of Christ’s ideal for us. Thus He is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. AA 530.1

“God has called His people to glory and virtue, and these will be manifest in the lives of all who are truly connected with Him. Having become partakers of the heavenly gift, they are to go unto perfection, being ‘kept by the power of God through faith.’ 1 Peter 1:5. It is the glory of God to give His virtue to His children. He desires to see men and women reaching the highest standard; and when by faith they lay hold of the power of Christ, when they plead His unfailing promises, and claim them as their own, when with an importunity that will not be denied they seek for the power of the Holy Spirit, they will be made complete in Him. AA 530.2

“Having received the faith of the gospel, the next work of the believer is to add to his character virtue, and thus cleanse the heart and prepare the mind for the reception of the knowledge of God. This knowledge is the foundation of all true education and of all true service. It is the only real safeguard against temptation; and it is this alone that can make one like God in character. Through the knowledge of God and of His Son Jesus Christ, are given to the believer ‘all things that pertain unto life and godliness.’ No good gift is withheld from him who sincerely desires to obtain the righteousness of God. AA 530.3

“‘This is life eternal,’ Christ said, ‘that they might know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom Thou hast sent.’ John 17:3. And the prophet Jeremiah declared: ‘Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth Me, that I am the Lord which exercise loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord.’ Jeremiah 9:23, 24. Scarcely can the human mind comprehend the breadth and depth and height of the spiritual attainments of him who gains this knowledge. AA 531.1

“None need fail of attaining, in his sphere, to perfection of Christian character. By the sacrifice of Christ, provision has been made for the believer to receive all things that pertain to life and godliness. God calls upon us to reach the standard of perfection and places before us the example of Christ’s character. In His humanity, perfected by a life of constant resistance of evil, the Saviour showed that through co-operation with Divinity, human beings may in this life attain to perfection of character. This is God’s assurance to us that we, too, may obtain complete victory.” AA 531.2
