Words of Encouragement
Philippians 2:2-3 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
Romans 15:4 For whatsoever things that were written aforetime were written for our learning that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
For Heaven’s Sake…
“God uses pretty fantastic illustrations to show that Christ is coming, that the world is ending, and that He has a line of prophecies that we need to understand,” said Pastor Flemons. He was referring to the dream of King Nebuchadnezzar in Daniel 2 and its interpretation in verses 36-45. The main point he wants us to understand, however, is that God is the one who sets up kings, queens and emperors.
Daniel 2:36-38 This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king. Thou, O king, art a kings of kings; for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory. And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.
Just as the prophecy revealed, Babylon under King Nebuchadnezzar ruled the world, followed by the Medes and Persians in a co-rulership. Then Greece and Rome each ruled successively. And it was during the harsh rulership of Rome that Jesus was born. Since then no kingdom has had such power. According to the prophetic dream, we are today living in the feet and toes of the great image. These are the last days just before the second coming of Jesus who will set up the everlasting kingdom of God.
Daniel 2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
Although God sets up kings and rulers, we all have a much higher purpose, goal and calling, says Pastor Flemons. And we are to allow ourselves to be used for His purposes. Jesus came to do the will of His Father. The Jews wanted Jesus to free them from the hard ironlike rule of the Romans. But “Jesus stayed out of politics,” says Pastor Flemons. He didn’t involve Himself in the arguments of the day.
Jesus had a mission to set everyone free with truth. “The truth shall make you free,” He said in John 8:32. This is the higher calling to which Jesus has called all believers in Him.
Revelation 13 prophesies about the politics of these days, when all the world would wonder after the beast. The beast in Bible prophecy is the Roman Catholic Church, as was identified in the August 17 broadcast. Right on prophetic time, President-elect Donald Trump promises to bring back the honor to the Catholic Church. At the same time, he also promises to preserve religious freedom.
The so-called honor of the Catholic Church system is its notorious history of “punishing heretics.” In truth, they simply believed that the Bible is the rule of faith and is supreme to all traditions. The truth is those so-called heretics fled from the persecution of Catholicism to the United States to establish a country based on civil and religious freedoms, not merely religious freedom for Catholics.
In a letter to the Catholic Vote President Brian Burch, President-elect Donald Trump said this:
“As President, I promise that I will protect the rights of Catholics to live their faith, to serve their communities, and to act on their beliefs without fear. This approach one would think is just common sense. And I don’t care if people call it politically incorrect.”
(Full contents of the letter is made public at this link: https://www.catholicvote.org/trumpletter/.)
On Catholic Online, Deacon Frederick Bartels quotes from a letter to Catholics from Trump: “On issues and policies of greatest concern to Catholics, the differences between myself and Hillary Clinton are stark. I will stand with Catholics and fight for you. . . . ” (http://www.catholic.org/news/national/story.php?id=71901)
Today, the truth is that in these days when these events happen we can be certain that Jesus is “even at the door,” says Pastor Flemons. As the world once again comes under the influence of this church-state rule, let the fleeing be final. Let’s take cover in Christ. “Let’s be faithful,” says Pastor Flemons. “Let’s be part of God’s kingdom.” His kingdom will never be destroyed. It will stand forever.

For Health’s Sake…
Freely giving sugar to children is as bad as giving them alcohol. Why? That’s because too much sugar acts like alcohol on the system, says Pastor Flemons and a CNN article titled, “How to stop sugar from sneaking into your child’s diet.”
“Sugar (specifically fructose) is metabolized in the liver just like alcohol,” said Dr. Robert Lustig, a professor of pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco. “This is why children are getting the diseases of alcohol, like type 2 diabetes and fatty liver disease, without the alcohol. These are diseases that were unheard of in children prior to 1980.”
According to the article, a CDC 2014 report estimates that more than 5,000 new cases of type 2 diabetes will be diagnosed among Americans younger than age 20 each year.
“Sugar doesn’t cause disease just because of its calories. Sugar causes disease because it’s sugar,” Lustig said. “Thin people get metabolic diseases like type 2 diabetes, too. Obesity increases the risk, but sugar is an independent risk factor apart from calories or obesity.”
