Worship: The Sabbath and the Judgment / Wellness: Mistletoe, 10 Benefits

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  In the judgment, only professed believers are considered and investigated. They are judged and separated into two groups: the just and unjust. They are either righteous or unrighteous. A person is not a person of God, unless he or she is in the sight of God, says Pastor Flemons.

He directed us to Revelation 3, which reveals two churches symbolic of two types of people or believers. Those who have kept the word of God and the word of His patience and who have not denied His name are one group. This includes honoring His Sabbath, according to the fourth commandment and manifesting His name, meaning character, in their behavior. The other group consists of those who say that they are “Jews” but are not. They believe that they are “rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing.” They don’t realize that they are “wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.” Both groups claim to be believers: God’s people. God, however, declares those who really are His people.

“We are now in the last hour of the Judgment. It is the hour when Isaiah’s prophecy, ‘Seal the law among My disciples,’ Isa. 8:16, is being fulfilled. It is the time when 144,000 who will be living on the earth when Jesus comes, will be sealed, ‘having the Father’s name (His sign or signature) written in their foreheads,’ Rev. 14:1 – reflecting His righteous character in their very countenances. No mere nominal profession will answer now. The Sabbath of the Lord is a special test, – a test of loyalty to God, – even to those who profess to be Sabbath keepers. Are we meeting the test? Or are we grieving the Holy Spirit of God ‘whereby’ we are ‘sealed unto the day of redemption’? Eph. 4:30.

“Israel of old failed, but now in this final Judgment hour, the Lord has ‘set His hand again the second time to recover the remnant of His people.’ Isa. 11:11,12. As the loud cry of the third angel goes forth, proclaiming the Sabbath more fully, then will be fulfilled the prophecy: “‘We will lift up an ensign to the nations from far,’ calling them to the decisive battle between truth and error, between Christ and Satan, and ‘they shall come with speed swiftly,’ Isa. 5:26, ‘and build in the temple of the Lord.’ Zech. 6:15. Is not this the time for every true child of God to gather within the second veil, and take his stand under the ensign of Christ [the Sabbath]? Those who do this will receive the promised blessing: ‘Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the City.’ Rev. 22:14.

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, discussed ten benefits of the “unusual herb” mistletoe, as outlined in an organicfacts.net article. It is important to note that typically, the mistletoe found in America is toxic, as well as some of its species and varieties found elsewhere. However, there are “more than 900 species belonging to 73 different genera, so there is quite a bit of diversity.”

Within its diversity however, mistletoe has been found to have an incredible amount of health benefits: “including its ability to treat cancer in a number of ways, prevent diabetes, soothe respiratory distress, calm the nervous system, lower blood pressure, promote good sleep, eliminate inflammation, increase immune system activity, reduce snoring, and decrease menstrual pain.”

“Unlike many herbal extracts, it is commonly given in the form of injection, but it can also be used in the form of tinctures or teas.” For instance, a tea made of mistletoe can help regulate sleep and ease menstrual discomfort. A strong brew of it calms “muscle spasms and inflammation, helping to release that tension and cramping.” Only one cup of the tea before bedtime “means a much lower chance of snoring while you sleep.” The article claims “research has also directly linked its extract with anti-cancer activity, and in Europe, more than 50% of cancer patients now integrate some element of it in their treatment regimen.” Mistletoe in tincture form eliminates inflammation and “does wonders to ease that pain and increase the range of motion as you age. Internally, this anti-inflammatory capacity can be good for digestion and gastrointestinal issues as well.”

The article cautions, “There are still some risks involved with it, particularly with using untreated or improperly prepared mistletoe. However, if you use a reliable and trusted herbalist or natural practitioner, then you can enjoy the wide range of benefits provided by this unusual herb.”

Words of Encouragement

Hebrews 2:14, 15  Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. Proverbs 2:3-5  If thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; if thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. (Also read My Life Today, ML 108.)
