Worship: Worship Reform 2 / Wellness: Rely on God for Health

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  God instituted reforms after 1798 to prepare His people for the world’s final crisis, which will occur just prior to the Second Coming of Christ. Worship in Spirit and truth is just one of those reforms. It follows talks on Bible reform, the Spirit of Prophecy reform, Sanctuary reform, and Sabbath reform in the series “Preparation for the Final Crisis.” This is part two of Worship Reform.

Modern worship tends to be defined by a celebration in song, music, bodily swaying, and dance. But Pastor Flemons says, “When the truth is taught, that is worship.” Worship is true teaching, according to the Bible. Vain worship is the teaching of man’s commandments as though they are the doctrine of God. (Read Matthew 15:8, 9.) God is trying to help us understand, says Pastor Flemons, the importance of the truth and teaching it. Truth changes lives. (Read John 17:17.) In that process, pride, which God hates, and trusting in oneself must dissipate.

Present truth is not merely understanding end-time events, he says, but it knowing Jesus. It is also letting the church know what is dangerous to the church. It is Galatians 6:1, restoring one fallen in sin, the one who has been “overtaken in a fault.” True spirit worship is according to Philippians 3:3, says Pastor Flemons. It is having “no confidence in the flesh.” Instead, too much of what we think of our own opinions leads us far away from the mark God has set for us.

True worship is becoming like Jesus: trusting and obeying God.

[For additional details, please read John 4:24. Also, listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang Hymn 590, “Trust and Obey.”]

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that relying on God is the first of a 10-point lifestyle principle of health and healing. Times of Refreshing Wellness Ministry details the ten points through the acronym REFRESHING. The R is Rely on God. The E is Eat healthy. The F is Fresh air. The R is Rest. The E is Exercise. The S is Self-Control. The H is H2O-water. The I is In the sun. The N is Never give up. And the G is Give to others.

Relying on God, says Pastor Flemons, plays a huge role in our health. Relying on God minimizes stress, which prevents healing. Under stress, or rather distress, the immune system, which harnesses a lot of functional energy, becomes paralyzed and yields itself to a state of emergency. All healing is on hold, as the body is fully set for fight or flight.

The heart is on blast for full speed. Blood pressure rises. Lots of fat is emitted. The reaction produces lactic acid. The longterm effects of being in a constant state of distress, includes a buildup of lactic acid, creating a toxic environment. It is in this kind of acidic environment that disease of all kinds is encouraged.

When we trust God, we are relying on Him. Stress is relieved. Health risks are minimized. Disease is held at bay.

Sharing Time   Pastor Flemons responded to a FB comment about being married to the flesh in the old covenant.

Special Prayer  Please include in your prayers listener 1087, who asks prayer for her husband who is going through strenuous training. Also, pray for her health and that they will avoid the triggers of stress in their lives.

Sis. Rosalee, who is scheduled for cataract surgery the morning of May 1, asks that we pray for a successful surgery.

Also, pray for the favor of God and the endurance of a man who says he is falsely accused at work and is under attack. He has endured a previous accusation and, after close investigation, was found innocent. Still, there was loss of position and income that were eventually restored retroactively.

Worship: Worshipping God in the Spirit / Wellness: The Protein Myth

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  “We are to worship God in spirit, but we are also to worship Him in truth,” says Pastor Flemons. He referred to John 4:32, where Jesus described the nature of the true worshipper of God. He also discussed obedience to the Word of God, even in the order of speaking in a foreign language during worship services, which has been misunderstood relative to the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

Pastor Flemons also discussed the influence of Vatican II on worship in Christian churches across denominational lines. From that time on, he says, more and more churches included drums in their praise to God. There’s nothing wrong with happiness and joy, says Pastor Flemons. But the music and dancing and trancelike movements are not evidence of having the Holy Spirit.

Walking in the Spirit means not fulfilling the lusts of the flesh or having confidence in the flesh. It is not about a happy feeling, says Pastor Flemons. Just having a happy feeling suppresses the Word of God. God gives us a clear word in and through Jesus, who lived by every word that proceeded from the mouth of His Father God. God has the best way for our happiness, but it is not based on emotion. Happiness is based on obedience. Psalm 144:15 says, “Happy is that people, whose God is the Lord.”

The Laodicean message of Revelation 3:17 describes a people with a happy, good-feeling experience, without realizing their true miserably wretched state of being. That is opposite to walking in the Spirit. It is opposite to victory over sin.

[For additional details, please read John 4:23; 1 Corinthians 14:2John 16:13; Galatians 5:16; Philippians 3:3; Revelation 3:17; and WLF 12. Also, listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang Hymn 590, “Trust and Obey.”]

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, dispelled the protein myth that promotes flesh-eating as the way to get protein in the diet and maintain a healthy balance in the body system. The truth is, he says, is that diabetes, hypertension, and such conditions like the autoimmune diseases do not develop because of a lack of protein, but because of too much protein and fat in the diet. The myth further promotes the idea that unless you eat flesh you don’t eat a complete protein.

The truth is that the body stores the building blocks that comprise a complete protein. A combination of beans and rice or a variety of nuts, seeds, legumes, and grains will be paired into a complete protein. The body does the pairing. We only need to eat a variety of whole foods, nuts and grains.

Genesis 28:22  And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God’s house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.  (Also read Conflict and Courage, CC 65.)

1 John 3:13  Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you. (Also read With God at Dawn, WGD 61.)

Worship: God’s Law Is Perfect / Wellness: Curing an Upset Stomach

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  God’s law of liberty is eternal, as we already learned in the previous segment. Obviously, that means that it is still binding today. “If you do away with it, you do away with what sin is. For sin is the transgression of the law,” says Pastor Flemons, quoting in part, 1 John 3:4.

Besides that, God’s law is perfect, just as is His character. For His law is the transcript of His character. The psalmist puts it this way:

“The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever: The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: And in keeping of them there is great reward.” Ps. 19:7-11 KJV.

“This inspired commentary on the law of the infinite Jehovah should forever settle its immutability in the mind of finite man,” says Sarah Peck.

[For additional details, please read Romans 7:12, 13; Psalm 19:7-11; and “God’s Law Perfect” in Path to the Throne of God, by Sarah Elizabeth Peck. (PTG 185 original. PTG 252 latest edition. PTG 140 online.) Also, listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons and hear him sing the Scripture Psalm 19:7-11, and Hymn #590, “Trust and Obey.”]

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that you can use the same natural remedies for an upset stomach that you use when you have a case of diarrhea.

Use activated charcoal, bentonite clay, or carob powder. Slowly and carefully add 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon of activated charcoal to about six ounces of water. Then drink. You may prefer use a straw to minimize staining your lips. Activated charcoal helps absorb the acids in the stomach. The same thing can be done with bentonite clay and carob powder.

The Bible says that you can use a little wine for an upset stomach, meaning the unfermented juice of the vine–grape juice. (Read 1 Timothy 5:23). Grape juice is an antacid. An upset stomach is generally the result of too much acid. Therefore about six ounces of grape juice is all that is needed to neutralize acids in the stomach.

And yes. It is still that simple, says Pastor Flemons.

Nevertheless, you can avoid building too much acid in the stomach by  avoiding the flesh of dead animals and their products, by eating a total plant-based diet, separating your meals from drinking liquids, reclining only after meals have had time to completely digest, and avoiding any snacks between meals.

(For further details, please listen to the recording.)

Words of Encouragement

Revelation 3:10  Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. (Also read Ye Shall Receive PowerYRP 365.)

Psalm 61:1-3  Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. (Also read My Life Today, ML 105.)

Worship: God’s Law of Love / Wellness: Juicing Contraindications

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  God’s Ten Commandments hang on man’s love for God and man’s love for his fellow human beings. The first four commandments govern man’s relationship to God. The final six govern man’s relationship to man. This is what Jesus meant when, in Matthew 22:37-40, He said, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

Your heart is your spiritual nature, says Pastor Flemons. Your soul is your physical nature. And your mind is your mental nature. In all these ways you must love God and put Him first: spiritually, physically and mentally. Guard what enters your heart. Guard what goes into your body. And guard what enters your mind. Then we must do all we can to help our neighbors do the same. This is how we do all to the glory of God. This is the whole duty of man.

In this way, God’s law was taught orally and preserved for generations until the great flood during Noah’s time. Then when God brought Israel out of Egypt, His law was spoken in their hearing and written, actually engraved, in tables of stone. Then it was enshrined in the ark, the foundation of the mercy seat, a symbol of God’s throne and guarded by two angels in the Most Holy Place of the earthly sanctuary. “Later this law of love was more fully made known through His dealings with man as recorded in the complete Bible. In fact, the decalogue has been called ‘ an abridged edition of the Bible,’ because it expresses ‘the whole duty of man.’ Eccl. 12:13.”

[For additional details, please read Matthew 22:34-40; Deuteronomy 6:1-5; 2:7; and “God’s Law, a Law of Love” in Path to the Throne of God, by Sarah Elizabeth Peck. (PTG 184, 185 original. PTG 250 latest edition. PTG 139 online.) Also, listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons and hear him sing Hymn #590, “Trust and Obey.”]

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, discussed contraindications for juicing. He quickly clarifies that you can still juice, but that you must make some adjustments in what vegetables you use.

He says that you should be very cautious about juicing when your kidneys are damaged to the point that they cannot perform the very “basic function of getting rid of potassium, which is one of the easiest things the kidney does.” A high dose of potassium can be lethal. In fact, it is what is most states now use in the execution of death row inmates, he says.

When there is a calcium overload in the body system, you really cannot juice at all, says Pastor Flemons. Juicing provides lots of calcium. Although a calcium overload is not fatal, like a potassium overload, you really cannot function when there is a calcium overload. However, like potassium, a calcium overload is very rare.

If you are a diabetic, have hypergyclemia, hypoglycemia, candida, or parasites, you must adjust the sugar content of your juicing. You must juice mostly green vegetables and lesser of beets and carrots. In fact, he says that you may need to totally eliminate beets and carrots in your juicing regimen.  A Granny Smith apple is generally a great way to flavor the green juice; but be prepared to eliminate it as well, if necessary. Use more of celery, cucumber, kale, parsley, and broad leafy vegetables.

Finally, if you have problems with the sexual organs, including the prostate for men, breasts for women, and the lower pelvic region, you should be very cautious about including carrots in your juicing regimen. Carrots would be too highly concentrated in phytoestrogens for you.

(For further details, please listen to the recording and visit the links.)
