Worship: Sabbath Reform / Wellness: Sugar Weakens Your Immune System

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Pastor Flemons discussed Sabbath reform and how to help children enjoy the Sabbath, by seeing God in nature. He said that Satan has caused the fourth commandment to be so trampled upon that it formed a breach in the Ten Commandments, according to Isaiah 58:12.

The prophet Isaiah says that before the return of Jesus, there must be a reform in Sabbath observance. Speaking to God’s people, “the house of Jacob,” those who seek God daily, and delight to know His ways, those who take delight in approaching God, as well as those who are looking forward to the imminent return of Christ, the message of alarm goes out in the first verse of Isaiah 58: “Cry aloud, spare not. . .show my people their transgression.” Verse 12 says that they “shall build the old waste places,” “raise up the foundations of many generations,” and be called repairers of the breach, restorers of paths to dwell in.

God’s people honor Him and teach others to honor Him through properly keeping the Sabbath holy. They will comply with the guidelines in Isaiah 58. They will refrain from doing their own pleasure on God’s holy day. Instead, they will “call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him,” not doing their own ways, nor finding their own pleasure, nor speaking their own words. Rather, they will be engaged in seeking opportunities to do the works of Christ: to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and break every yoke. They will feed the hungry and help the poor. In these ways, they will share the love of Jesus with the world.

When you do this, you honor God and His Sabbath. God, in turn says, “Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.”

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says, “Back off the sweets!” Here’s why. When you consume less than 1 teaspoon of sugar in one day, one white blood cell can destroy 14 bacteria. But when you consume as much as 24 teaspoons of sugar in one day, that same white blood cell can only destroy one bacterium.

Sadly, the average American consumes about 54 teaspoons of sugar every day, says Pastor Flemons. That would mean that your white blood cells are absolutely powerless to destroy bacteria in the body. This is the reason disease is so rampant and cancer, which feeds on sugar, is so prevalent in America today.

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says if your liver is clogged, it cannot get rid of the excess estrogen, which causes fibroid tumors and reproductive cancers. What clogs your liver? Eating too much sugar, chocolate, the flesh of dead animals, and dairy–they all clog the liver. So do sodas, coffee, and caffeinated drinks. Under normal circumstances, the liver transfers the excess hormones out of the blood into the bile. The bile then is transferred into the intestines and taken out of the body through the feces. “The bad habits of most Americans cause liver congestion, and the excess hormones get recirculated into the blood,” says Pastor Flemons. Then the body is left in danger. Listen to the recording to learn how the REFRESHING Way lifestyle will help eliminate excess estrogen.

Words of Encouragement

2 Timothy 2:19  Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Ezekiel 20:12  Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them.

For Heaven’s Sake…

“’Thus saith the Lord, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for My salvation is near to come, and My righteousness to be revealed. Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the Sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.’ ‘The sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the Lord, to serve Him, and to love the name of the Lord, to be His servants, everyone that keepeth the Sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of My covenant; even them will I bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer.’ Isaiah 56:1, 2, 6, 7{GC 451.1}

“These words apply in the Christian age, as shown by the context: ‘The Lord God which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.’ Verse 8. Here is foreshadowed the gathering in of the Gentiles by the gospel. And upon those who then honor the Sabbath, a blessing is pronounced. Thus the obligation of the fourth commandment extends past the crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension of Christ, to the time when His servants should preach to all nations the message of glad tidings. {GC 451.2}

“The Lord commands by the same prophet: ‘Bind up the testimony, seal the law among My disciples.’ Isaiah 8:16. The seal of God’s law is found in the fourth commandment. This only, of all the ten, brings to view both the name and the title of the Lawgiver. It declares Him to be the Creator of the heavens and the earth, and thus shows His claim to reverence and worship above all others. Aside from this precept, there is nothing in the Decalogue to show by whose authority the law is given. When the Sabbath was changed by the papal power, the seal was taken from the law. The disciples of Jesus are called upon to restore it by exalting the Sabbath of the fourth commandment to its rightful position as the Creator’s memorial and the sign of His authority. {GC 452.1}

“‘To the law and to the testimony.’ While conflicting doctrines and theories abound, the law of God is the one unerring rule by which all opinions, doctrines, and theories are to be tested. Says the prophet: ‘If they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.’ Verse 20{GC 452.2}

“Again, the command is given: ‘Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and show My people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.’ It is not the wicked world, but those whom the Lord designates as ‘my people,’ that are to be reproved for their transgressions. He declares further: ‘Yet they seek Me daily, and delight to know My ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God.’ Isaiah 58:1, 2. Here is brought to view a class who think themselves righteous and appear to manifest great interest in the service of God; but the stern and solemn rebuke of the Searcher of hearts proves them to be trampling upon the divine precepts. {GC 452.3}

“The prophet thus points out the ordinance which has been forsaken: ‘Thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in. If thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on My holy day; and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honorable; and shalt honor Him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord.’ Verses 12-14. This prophecy also applies in our time. The breach was made in the law of God when the Sabbath was changed by the Roman power. But the time has come for that divine institution to be restored. The breach is to be repaired and the foundation of many generations to be raised up. {GC 452.4}

“Hallowed by the Creator’s rest and blessing, the Sabbath was kept by Adam in his innocence in holy Eden; by Adam, fallen yet repentant, when he was driven from his happy estate. It was kept by all the patriarchs, from Abel to righteous Noah, to Abraham, to Jacob. When the chosen people were in bondage in Egypt, many, in the midst of prevailing idolatry, lost their knowledge of God’s law; but when the Lord delivered Israel, He proclaimed His law in awful grandeur to the assembled multitude, that they might know His will and fear and obey Him forever. {GC 453.1}

“From that day to the present the knowledge of God’s law has been preserved in the earth, and the Sabbath of the fourth commandment has been kept. Though the ‘man of sin’ succeeded in trampling underfoot God’s holy day, yet even in the period of his supremacy there were, hidden in secret places, faithful souls who paid it honor. Since the Reformation, there have been some in every generation to maintain its observance. Though often in the midst of reproach and persecution, a constant testimony has been borne to the perpetuity of the law of God and the sacred obligation of the creation Sabbath. {GC 453.2}

“The testimony of the word of God is against this ensnaring doctrine of faith without works. It is not faith that claims the favor of Heaven without complying with the conditions upon which mercy is to be granted, it is presumption; for genuine faith has its foundation in the promises and provisions of the Scriptures. {GC 472.2}

“Let none deceive themselves with the belief that they can become holy while willfully violating one of God’s requirements. The commission of a known sin silences the witnessing voice of the Spirit and separates the soul from God. ‘Sin is the transgression of the law.’ And ‘whosoever sinneth [transgresseth the law] hath not seen Him, neither known Him.’ 1 John 3:6. Though John in his epistles dwells so fully upon love, yet he does not hesitate to reveal the true character of that class who claim to be sanctified while living in transgression of the law of God. ‘He that saith, I know Him, and keepeth not His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth His word, in him verily is the love of God perfected.’ 1 John 2:4, 5. Here is the test of every man’s profession. We cannot accord holiness to any man without bringing him to the measurement of God’s only standard of holiness in heaven and in earth. If men feel no weight of the moral law, if they belittle and make light of God’s precepts, if they break one of the least of these commandments, and teach men so, they shall be of no esteem in the sight of Heaven, and we may know that their claims are without foundation.” {GC 473.3}
