Words of Encouragement
Amos 4:13 For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The Lord, The God of hosts, is his name.
John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye may be also.

For Heaven’s Sake…
Only Noah, his wife, their three sons, and their wives believed God and obeyed. And they were the only ones saved. The rest of the whole world lost their lives in the world’s singular deluge. As such, Noah is honored in the Bible’s Hall of Faith.
Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. (Read also 1 Peter 3: 20.)
Why a worldwide flood?
Genesis 6:5-8 GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. 7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
Then, as today, “the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth” (Genesis 6:11-13).
“The story of the flood is a sad history of the terrible results of disbelief and disobedience. Everyone will find out sooner or later that God really means what He says and He really does what He promises,” says Pastor Flemons. You see, it had never even rained before the flood. The earth was watered only by dew, “for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground,” according to Genesis 2:5 (last part) and 6.
In the midst of the evil antediluvian world, Noah was in communion with God. And God had spoken to Noah and made a covenant with him. God warned Noah of the world’s impending destruction. And Noah warned the world. But the world did not believe. Even when the animals, both prey and predator, in perfect harmony lined up two by two and entered the huge ark, spectators only watched with unmatched curiosity. Instead of taking this phenomenon as confirmation of Noah’s warnings, they only studied “nature to account for the signal miracle,” says Pastor Flemons.
Once the door was shut by an unseen hand, “for the LORD shut him in,” no man could open it and be saved. Too late to respond to be saved, they could only watch in horror as they died and the inhabitants of the ark were saved. The storm that continued for five months left its marks upon the whole world, visible even today, and left the ark in the mountains of Ararat.
Pastor Flemons says, “May this first destruction of the then-known earth awaken us to the importance of obedience by faith, so we don’t repeat the same mistake. God’s church is often called the “ark of safety.” This has clear reference to the flood. It is not a profession of membership that keeps us enrolled as church members. It is obedience by faith that keeps our names in the book of life, the authentic church registry. May God help us stay anchored in Christ!”
For Health’s Sake…
The colon is the large intestine. It is shorter and larger than the small intestine. The colon is approximately 5 feet long and is approximately 2.5 inches in diameter.
It has five areas. The ascending colon is only about 25 centimeters long and lies to the right of the abdomen. The transverse colon crosses the body from right to left. And the descending colon extends downward toward the rectum. The sigmoid colon is the S-shaped part of the colon, which is located after the descending colon and before the rectum.
The colon’s role in digestion is to absorb water and electrolytes. They help in processing waste matter, the unusable and undigested foods. Using the water and electrolytes, the colon prepares the waste for exiting the body. The colon helps maintain proper water balance for this process. Without water, the colon cannot properly function.
The colon must also use bacteria to process the waste. Bacteria, capable of digesting small amounts of cellulose, are located in the colon. Although the colon is capable and does absorb some vitamins, substances, which include vitamin K, B-12, thiamin, and riboflavin, are formed as a result of the bacterial activity in the colon.
The colon is the body’s waste reservoir and remains there, slowly advancing toward the rectum, until time for release. When the waste reaches the rectum, peristalsis kicks into action. The body receives the signal as an urge to secrete the waste. The rectum, at the end of the colon, responds and releases waste from the body.
When there is a lack of water, the process is inhibited. When white flour products are consumed, the contents of the colon can become as glue and stick to the walls of the colon. People experiencing constipation are often simply dehydrated. People who lose the urge to defecate have gone too many times without responding to the call of nature. Nature, for them, has stopped calling.
