For Heaven’s Sake…
Abraham was chosen by God to teach the law of God, which is the moral fabric of society, even today. In a similar and maybe more limited fashion, that call is extended to both you and me. “In order for you to develop the character you need to develop,” says Pastor Flemons, “you probably need a change in the regular order of business. In order for you to develop the character you need to develop, God may have to take you on a journey. In order for you to develop the character you need to develop, at times you may need to get away from family and friends.” It may even take a “wilderness” experience to help solidify your personal relationship with God.
Genesis 12:1-3 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing. And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
“God blesses us so that we will be a blessing,” says Pastor Flemons. And when God said He will make thy name great, He was not only speaking of fame in Abraham’s case but He was also speaking about Abraham’s character. Name means character in the Bible. (Read Exodus 34:5-7.) God wants our characters to be great, whether we are or become famous or not.
The promise is that there is an inherent blessing in being obedient to God. There is a blessing in those who are good and kind to God’s people. But there is a curse to those who make God’s people suffer.
What is really worthy to note is this: that Abraham’s unquestioning faith is the most striking evidence of faith in all the Bible. Abraham’s faith is the kind of faith we all need. What the faith of Abraham teaches all of us is this: If God is leading you, don’ t have to know where you are going. “If we follow the leading of God, we will always come out of top.”
For Health’s Sake…
It is actually the inflammation of the lining of the entire food tract. Symptoms of Crohn’s disease include diarrhea, vomiting, bloating, intestinal bleeding, and weight loss, because you are not able to absorb nutrition. It can be fatal.
Steroids are medically used to calm symptoms. Doctors believe that there is no cure. But Crohn’s disease can be cured, using God’s plan for your health.
What needs to happen, according to Pastor Flemons, is an internal cleansing of all toxins. Victims of the disease need to go on a highly nutritious juice feast for a few days. But more will be discussed later, when remedies will be the focus of the series.
