Worship: Worship, Study and Play! / Wellness: Why Women Have More Strokes

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  “How do you deal with delay?” asked Pastor Flemons, who provided a life lesson from the experience of the children of Israel at the foot of the mount Sinai. (Read Exodus 32:1-6.) They didn’t simply intend to worship false gods. They couldn’t see Moses. His return was taking too long. Instead of praying, God’s people ate, drank and “rose up to play,” after they had promised to do all that the Lord had said. They ate and drank the word of God. They worshiped and studied, but they included a golden calf, as part of their feast “to the Lord.” They changed the style of worship to a feel-good experience, says Pastor Flemons. And that is where they went wrong.

Do you feel Jesus has delayed His coming? How are you dealing with that? The hope is that you remain faithful. Pray. Believe God’s promises. Obey. But do not rise up and play.

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Pastor Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, reviewed “Women Who Are Most At Risk of Stroke,” a HealthDay News article published at Webmd.com. The article reports that strokes are “the leading cause of disability and the third leading cause of death in women.” (Read more below.)

Philippians 2:4, 5  Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.
