Worship: What You Miss Without Trials / Wellness: The Danger of Eating French Fries

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  If you refuse the battle, you can know no victory. Some say, “No guts, no glory!” Pastor Flemons says, “If you’re not in the fight, you can’t win the battle!”  (Read more below.)

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Pastor Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, read aloud an article that revealed french fries are potentially deadly. They found that “fries, along with other types of fried potatoes, increase our risk of mortality over the years. Other types of potato preparations didn’t seem to have the same risks involved, which suggest there’s something intrinsic about the fried-ness of French fries that makes them not just unhealthy, but actually (well, potentially) deadly.” Researchers really aren’t certain why. But they have found a link between overcooked potatoes and bread, which places a burden on the heart. They are suggesting that french fries be considered an “unhealthy risk” to be indulged in only once in awhile. Pastor Flemons advises that we lower fried foods in all cases. He says cut the potatoes like french fries and bake them with lecithin to keep them from sticking to the pan. But give up french fries, he says. They are not worth your life.

Words of Encouragement

2 Samuel 22:7, 8  In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears. Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.

Jonah 2:7, 10  When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: And my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple. . . . And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land. (Also read PK 269.)
