Worship: Why Pomegranates / Wellness: Health Benefits of Gardening

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Just as pomegranates are full of seed, the Christian should be full of precious seed, the Word of God, says Pastor Flemons. The Bible is so full of knowledge that subjects like world history, mathematics, science, language, reading can be taught from it: even a full course of education. “The blood red juice suggests the blood of Jesus Christ, which cleanest from all sin. The fine-twined linen in real colors of blue and purple and scarlet, of which these ornaments were made, has the same significance here as elsewhere in the sanctuary–heavenly truth, royalty, and sacrifice.” (Please listen to the recording to hear more important details and Pastor Flemons sing “Standing on the Promises” and “Give Me the Bible.” Also read Luke 8:11; Revelation 12:17; 19:10, 13; 1 Corinthians 1:5-7; 2 Peter 1:4; Psalm 126:6.)

[This topic was based on “Lessons from the Pomegranates” in The Path to the Throne of God, by Sarah Elizabeth Peck, PTG 72, 73 (p 105, 106 new edition) (PTG online 53, 54 ).]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, shared the health benefits of gardening from a health.news article. The article reports that gardening can help you eat healthier, stay in shape, feel relaxed, and boost your mental health. It is the perfect antidote for stress. It guards against depression. Highly recommended is the square foot technique of gardening. It “divides a garden into small square sections to produce the best results.”

Words of Encouragement

Ephesians 5:3-5  But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Ephesians 5:1, 2  Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; and walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savor. (Read also DA 311.)
