Worship: The Onyx Stones / Wellness: City Lights and Cancer

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  God is in control no matter how things appear. The government is on His shoulder. So should be our burdens. This is represented by the onyx stones that held together the ephod at the shoulders of the high priest, who represented Jesus, our great High Priest. As badges of honor and authority are often worn on the shoulders of government officials, the onyx stones expressed the God-given honor and responsibility on the shoulders of the priest. “The burden bearing shoulder signifies submission in servitude.” The names of the twelve tribes of Israel were engraved upon the two stones: six tribes to each stone. The engravings signify that God will never forget. In fact, He said, “I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands.” (Please read Exodus 28:10, 12, 29; Exodus 39:3, 6, 7; Exodus 31:13; Ezekiel 20:12, 20; Isaiah 9:6; Isaiah 49:15, 16; Genesis 49:15; Psalm 55:22; Luke 15:4-6; Ephesians 4:30; and Revelation 22:14. Also, listen to the recording to hear more important details and Pastor Flemons sing the hymn “Hover O’er Me, Holy Spirit.”)

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, shared a health.news article about a study that concluded those “exposed to higher amounts of blue light outdoors at night had a 1.5-fold greater risk of breast cancer and a twofold higher chance of prostate cancer when compared to those with less exposure. Moreover, men who were exposed to higher levels of indoor artificial light had a prostate cancer risk that was 2.8-fold higher.” Although the study did not include the risk of exposure to indoor lighting or exposure to smartphones and tablets, caution was advised and suggestions for safety were offered.

Sharing Time Pastor Flemons answered several questions: about grieving the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:30), about lying prophets (1 Kings 13), and about why David called a son of his lineage (Jesus) Lord (Matthew 22:43-46).

Special Prayer for call-in listener 6349, whose heart is heavy from a recent loss. Pray that she does God’s will. Please pray for traveling mercies for 3464. Also keep grieving families in your prayers.

Remember to continue praying for the entire TOR broadcast family, that GOD will be free to bless us in the way that HE really wants to in 2018. Thank you.

Words of Encouragement

Galatians 6:7, 8  Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. (Also read COL 84.)

John 11:9, 10  Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world. But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him. (Read also DA 527.)
