Worship: The Curious Girdle / Wellness: Stop Blaming Your Weight on Slow Metabolism

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  The word curious here meant inspired by the Holy Spirit. It did not mean inquisitiveness, like that curiosity that “killed the cat.” In the Bible, it means skillful or expert in workmanship. The girdle was wound about the waist of the high priest and fastened in the front, the long ends hanging down. “Like the ephod, its royal colors were richly embroidered with threads of pure gold, thus fitly representing Christ, who was ‘girt about the paps with a golden girdle.’ Rev. 1:13. Such a girdle was a mark of excellent honor, majesty, and royalty, the rich golden girdle of Christ indicating the excellence of His ministration as High Priest.”

(Please read Exodus 28:8Exodus 35:30-32; and Revelation 1:13. Please listen to the recording to hear more important details and sing with Pastor Flemons, as he sings the Hymn 326, “Open My Eyes.”)

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, shared a health.news article that explains metabolism. Metabolism is defined as “all of the chemical processes that go on inside your body to keep you alive.” It also reports that “most of the metabolism occurs in all the lean tissue in the body or everything that’s not fat. Take note that aside from the muscles, lean mass includes organs like the brain, kidneys, and the liver. When discussing rate in ‘lean mass, people are fairly similar across the board.’” So stop blaming your weight problem on “slow” metabolism, says Pastor Flemons. Check your lifestyle. For instance, ask yourself these questions for starters: “Am I sleeping on a full stomach?” “Do I drink with my meals?” “Do I drink enough water between meals?” “What am I eating?” “Am I exercising?” “Am I getting to bed by 9:30 nightly?” Then Pastor Flemons says, “Follow the eight laws of health.” Times of Refreshing calls them the REFRESHING Way lifestyle.
