Worship: Psalms Regarding Christ / Wellness: Education or Medication

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Psalms 22-24 respectively show us the death, resurrection and ascension of Christ. (Read more below.)

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Drugs do not cure disease. They mostly tend to change the form and location of the disease. When health is regained, it is often because of the body’s own vital force to expel impurities and heal itself. In fact, the “free use of poisonous drugs” is at the “foundation of a vast amount of disease,” according to a statement read by Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness. The statement was “written over a hundred years ago,” he says. But it concludes back then, what many are only now concluding today: that “some of the drugs dispensed by physicians, act a part in laying the foundation of the liquor habit, the opium habit, the morphine habit, that are so terrible a curse to society.” {MH 126.4} “Restorative power,” it says, “is not in drugs but in nature.” We are not to use that which weakens the immune system. When challenged by disease, we are to assist the immune system in its effort to “expel impurities and to re-establish right conditions in the system.” That takes an education wholly unlike that found in med schools that teach according to the Flexner Report.(For those details and more, please listen to the recording, and read the full statement below from The Ministry of Healing, by Ellen G. White.)

Words of Encouragement

Luke 9:24, 25  For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?

Luke 9:23  And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. (Read also 5T 135.3-135.4.)
