Worship: Christians, Colorful Cosmetics, Jewelry, Flashy Clothes #4 / Wellness: How to Eat Healthy #3

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  For those who believe that the wearing of jewelry was for Old Testament times, Pastor Flemons taught the same subject from the New Testament. In 1 Corinthians 10:1-12, the Apostle Paul warns those “upon whom the ends of the world are come” to pay attention to the Israelites and learn valuable lessons for today. Pastor Flemons compared certain verses in 1 Corinthians 10:1-12 to the Old Testament scriptures referred to by the Apostle Paul.

Pastor Flemons says that generally when you see Christians put jeweled pieces on themselves, eventually Jesus tells them to take them off. For they are idols. But when God does it, as when He puts crowns on the redeemed, that is a different story. First, God wants to save us and to perfect our characters to reflect inner beauty, so that jewels will have no more than their rightful emphasis in our minds.

Simplicity is the way God has chosen for the development of Christian character and lifestyle. We must see ornamentation as idolatry, as was shown in the Old Testament, says Pastor Flemons. And we must make their experience our example per Scripture in the New Testament.

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, shared points numbered 13 through 18 for how to eat healthy.

13. Your last meal of fruit with zwieback, crackers or air-popped popcorn should be finished at least two hours before retiring for bed.

14. Eat plenty of dark green leafy vegetables.

15. Eat a salad with a dark green lettuce, some other cooked vegetable, and a plant-based entree. This is assuming that you are eating a vegetable meal at lunchtime. For variety, consult Times of Refreshing Vegetarian Cookbook.

16. Do not eat anything with vinegar, including salad dressing, mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, and other condiments. The cookbook contains recipes to replace these harmful foods. The sunflower seed dressing is highly recommended.

17. Read labels on all your foods so that you will know what you are eating.

18. Do not eat any refined foods including sugar, white flour, and white flour products. Pastor Flemons advises watching his presentation: “The Whiter the Bread, the Sooner You’re Dead,” available on YouTube.

Eating healthy is the second wellness principle embedded in the REFRESHING Way lifestyle. REFRESHING stands for Rely on God. Eat healthy. Fresh air. Rest. Exercise. Self-Control (temperance). H2O (drink water). In the sun. Never give up. Give to others.
