Worship: Christians, Colorful Cosmetics, Jewelry, and Flashy Clothes #12/ Wellness: Never Give Up, Best Practices

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Evidence of one under the control of the Holy Spirit will reflect balance. True dress reform, says Pastor Flemons, promotes the balance of outward and inward adornment. That means that the outward adornment will reflect the inward adornment of a meek and quiet spirit, according to 1 Peter 3:3 and 4.

That also means that you won’t be properly dressed outwardly and possess a devilish attitude. Pastor Flemons says that those whose dress is near perfect and who think that they can now be the dress police and behave any sort of way, should not feel safe or saved. Using the parable of the fig tree in Mark 11:12- 14 and Matthew 21:18-20, Pastor Flemons showed why Christ cursed the fig tree. It is symbolic of what Christ thinks of those whose outward adorning is deceptive. The leaves of the fig tree represent outward adornment.

Those filled with the Holy Spirit will be as the tree planted by the rivers of water, according to Psalm 1:1-3. That tree or person brings forth fruit. We must understand, says Pastor Flemons, that the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance or self-control. But possessing this inward character is not enough, when the outward adornment is withering. There are those who believe that all they have to do is love and anything else goes. Not so, says Pastor Flemons, as he refers back to Psalms 1. The Psalmist warns that the leaves or outward adornment must not wither. There must be balance, that whatsoever the Christian does may prosper.

Pastor Flemons recommends reading it for the correction to a statement on the previous broadcast made relative to Revelation 19:7 and 8, the connection between the Holy City as the bride of Christ and the righteousness of the saints.)

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, provided six principles for achieving a “Never Give Up” attitude.

1. Persevere. When that seems too long, . . .

2. Take one day at a time. When that seems too long, . . .

3. Take one hour at a time. When that seems too long, . . .

4. Take one minute at a time. When that seems too long, . . .

5. Take one second at a time. When that seems too long, . . .

6. Realize this: You don’t have enough time to give up!

And Ecclesiastes 9:4 tells you why: “For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.”

Words of Encouragement

Acts 5:28, 29 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us. Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.  (Also read Ye Shall Receive PowerYRP 339.)

Psalm 101:3  I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me. (Also read My Life Today, ML 86.)
