Worship: The Seven Churches, Conclusion 1 / Wellness: Overcoming Fibroids

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  The messages to all seven churches named in the Revelation of Jesus Christ, the final book in the Bible, hold special relevance to Christians today. They provide principles to live by and warnings to be obeyed. Pastor Flemons shared a few.

We learn from the message to the church at Ephesus that we must return to our first love. We must allow the truth to fully change our lives through the power of the Holy Spirit. It is by the Holy Spirit that the love of God is shed abroad in our lives. Love in action is how people know that we belong to God.

The message to the church at Smyrna teaches us to be willing to endure persecution, like Jesus. We should learn the power of silence, rather than retaliate, rather than defend ourselves. We must learn to endure hardness. Like Joseph, a good soldier, we must not complain, says Pastor Flemons. We must trust that God in His time will lift us up to where we need to be to honor Him best, just as He did with Joseph.

The message to the church in Pergamos teaches that we must be vigilant in not allowing any entrance to creeping compromise. We must focus on being obedient. “If God says something, let’s do it,” says Pastor Flemons. We should believe it and then do it. For God will both work to will and to do of His good pleasure within us, if we allow Him.

The message to the church at Thyatira teaches us that we should “keep the Bible above the visible church and the demands of conscience above the state.” The teachings of the Bible must reign above tradition. Truth must reign above everything. Otherwise, we will end up teaching for doctrine the commandments of man. This kind of worship, said Jesus, is vain. (Read Matthew 15:9.)

Worship: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that you can overcome fibroids.

Fibroids are really problematic non-cancerous growths in the area of the uterine. They are a collection of toxins in the muscle tissues that can cause heavy bleeding and severe cramping. They can grow to the point where a woman looks as though she’s pregnant, says Pastor Flemons, director of Times of Refreshing Wellness Ministry.

Fibroids are the result of a buildup of too much estrogen and a collection of too many toxins in the body, he says. The excess estrogen can be from distress in the life and from eating animal products, such as meat and dairy and eggs.

He told of the many successful experiences women have had in overcoming fibroids through adhering to the ministry’s REFRESHING way program. Essentially, he says that it begins with a juicing regimen to flush out toxins from the body. Green vegetables with the least amount of estrogen is best. Therefore, carrots are avoided in the juicing program. In the raw foods diet, soy and carrots are temporarily avoided. Both, he says, are sources of plant estrogen.
