Worship: The 144,000 and the Great Multitude, Pt 1 / Wellness: Stress and Menopause

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake
Pastor Flemons says the 144,000 is not an exact or literal number of living saints at the coming of Christ. He believes the number is symbolic. He says that he believes the number is far greater than 144,000. Since the final work is to be greater than that of Pentecost, where 3,000 were saved in one day, 144,000 is mathematically too small a number to total those proclaiming the gospel together with those to be saved and alive when Jesus comes, says Pastor Flemons, who read several quotes from prophetic writings of Ellen G. White to support his claim. Nevertheless, he emphasized that agreement on exactly who the 144,000 really are is not a requirement to work together to God’s glory. Besides, he says that his opinion is that only God knows exactly who makes up the 144,000.

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that stress and menopause need to be understood in light of the REFRESHING way lifestyle. Disclosing the acronym point by point, he began with minimizing stress through Relying on God. Avoiding those things that cause physical stress or emotional stress, like worry, is essential.

Under stress, the adrenal glands produce an elevation of the hormone cortisol, says Pastor Flemons. The excess amount of cortisol lessens the amount of progesterone, which normally balances estrogen. But in this case, it leaves a dominance of estrogen in the body, even though there is not enough estrogen, which then lead to symptoms of menopause. Stress lessens the adrenal glands’ ability from making adequate amounts of estrogen. Hence, to avoid symptoms of menopause, minimize your stress.
