Worship: A Call to Medical Evangelism, Pt 4 / Wellness: Life of the Flesh

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake
“As religious aggression subverts the liberties of our nation, those who would stand for freedom of conscience will be placed in unfavorable positions. For their own sake, they should, while they have the opportunity, become intelligent in regard to disease, its causes, prevention, and cure. All those who do this will find a field of labor anywhere. There will be suffering ones, plenty of them, who will need help, not only among those of our own faith, but largely among those who know not the truth. The shortness of time demands an energy that has not been aroused among those who claim to believe the present truth.”—Counsels on Health, 506. {CME 11.4}

Religious aggression is already beginning to be seen, even among God’s people. “It’s a sad reality,” says Pastor Flemons, “we have a papal spirit and don’t realize it.” We must let people act from their own conscience, not ours. We are not above the Bible. If we think that we are, we have the papal spirit. We see it in the papacy and in the politics of today, says Pastor Flemons. “God is not a God of force.”

The number of the beast in Revelation 13:14-18 refers more to the weight of gold, meaning the economy, than to the number of the name on the pope’s miter, says Pastor Flemons. It warns us to be prepared for the times ahead when we will not be able to buy or to sell.

[For further details, read Ellen G. White’s A Call to Medical Evangelism and Health Education; Revelation 13:14-18;  1 Kings 10:14; 2 Chronicles 9:13; Proverbs 28:21. Also, listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons.]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says, “It’s all about the blood.” Leviticus 17:11 says, “The life of the flesh is in the blood.” We must have pure blood. No disease can thrive where there is pure blood. Proverbs 14:30 says, “A sound heart is the life of the flesh.” We must have a healthy heart for proper blood circulation.

Proper circulation of pure blood by a healthy heart is necessary for vibrant health. All the laws of health are designed for pure blood, a healthy heart, and proper circulation.

“We are sick because we are toxic,” says Pastor Flemons. “Toxins poison the blood and hinder circulation.” “We must cleanse it and give it what it needs: the right nutrition.” Regardless of the disease, at the very least “purify the blood and equalize circulation. You do that with the eight laws of health. You do that by cleansing. And if you see a symptom to which a natural remedy can be applied, apply it in prayer.” It is that simple.

Sharing and Caring Time Sis. Maria says that we need to strengthen our prayer life. She then shared several passages from the book The Power of Prayer, a collection of Ellen G. White writings on prayer, Chapter 17, “The Strength of Prayer.”

  1. 1. “The strength of Christ was in prayer.”
  2. 2. As Christ is our example in all things, if we imitate His example in earnest, importunate prayer to God that we may have strength in His name who never yielded to the temptations of Satan to resist the devices of the wily foe, we shall not be overcome by him.—(The Youth’s Instructor, April 1, 1873.) {Pr 78.2}
  3. 3. “Strength and grace can be found in prayer.”

TORSOE announced a variety of online classes to learn biblical wellness for medical missionary work. Some of the classes will be free. Other classes will bear a reasonable cost. These classes will be cover spiritual, mental and physical health.

Special Prayer  Please include in your prayers today Listener 3039, who has a health challenge and is taking a number of medical tests. She needs our prayers.

Please pray for Denise and her family, especially for their spiritual needs.

Please remember to pray for families of Brittany and the other two (a man and a lady), who died in a one-car crash, after doing house-to-house ministry. All three funerals are scheduled for tomorrow as one memorial.

Remember to pray for a 21-year-old widow (Onelia of Trinidad) whose husband was witness to a murder case, but was gunned down with 22 bullets before he could testify. Left is his young family, including an unborn child that has now been lost. The family is now struggling in so many ways, as his wife and son witnessed his murder. Prayers and financial offerings are welcome. Send contributions to this ministry and mark it for Onelia. The final day to contribute is today, July 5.

Pray for the unspoken prayer requests of each heart.
