Are You Consecrated? / Juice and Smoothie Recipes for Sleep Disorders

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake
We tend to worry about our temporal needs when we should really focus on being consecrated.

In 1 Chronicles 29:1-5 David admonishes the people by telling them that the temporal needs in the temple building have already been supplied. All the gold, silver, wood, precious gems, and brass have already been provided the new temple that Solomon would later build.

What was needed, however was consecrated people to do the work. David asked, “Who then is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the Lord?” 1 Chronicles 29:5.

As we prepare to begin the 10 day fast, let us consecrate ourselves to God by surrendering all to him. All of us should be able to sing that song, “I surrender all!”

Sharing and Caring Time  Sis. Maria encouraged listeners with a passage of reading from the book Power of Prayer, a collection of statements on prayer by Ellen G. White, particularly from the section titled “The Privilege of Prayer,” This passage is also found in Sons and Daughters of God, p. 311.[Another source of the same quote is used below.]

“Rest yourself wholly in the hands of Jesus. Contemplate His great love, and while you meditate upon His self-denial, His infinite sacrifice made in our behalf in order that we should believe in Him, your heart will be filled with holy joy, calm peace, and indescribable love. As we talk of Jesus, as we call upon Him in prayer, our confidence that He is our personal, loving Saviour will strengthen, and His character will appear more and more lovely…. We may enjoy rich feasts of love, and as we fully believe that we are His by adoption, we may have a foretaste of heaven. Wait upon the Lord in faith. The Lord draws out the soul in prayer, and gives us to feel His precious love. We have a nearness to Him, and can hold sweet communion with Him. We obtain distinct views of His tenderness and compassion, and our hearts are broken and melted with contemplation of the love that is given to us. We feel indeed an abiding Christ in the soul…. Our peace is like a river, wave after wave of glory rolls into the heart, and indeed we sup with Jesus and He with us. We have a realizing sense of the love of God, and we rest in His love. No language can describe it, it is beyond knowledge. We are one with Christ, our life is hid with Christ in God. We have the assurance that when He who is our life shall appear, then shall we also appear with Him in glory. With strong confidence, we can call God our Father. Whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. His Spirit makes us like Jesus Christ in temper, and disposition, and we represent Christ to others. When Christ is abiding in the soul the fact cannot be hid; for He is like a well of water springing up into everlasting life. We can but represent the likeness of Christ in our character, and our words, our deportment, produces in others a deep, abiding, increasing love for Jesus, and we make manifest … that we are conformed to the image of Jesus Christ.59Letter 52, 1894. Worship: Old Wise Men / Wellness: Lung – Immune smoothie and juice

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake
Older, wise men are often the best choices for counselors when they have a relationship with God.

Rather than getting good counsel from the older, wiser advisers, the pride of Rehoboam urged him to follow the selfish counsel from his friends. As a result, the ten northern tribes revolted and the kingdom was divided.

Older, wiser men were the few to whom so many owed so much!

Sharing and Caring Time  Sis. Maria encouraged listeners with a passage of reading from the book Power of Prayer, a collection of statements on prayer by Ellen G. White, particularly from the section titled “The Privilege of Prayer,” Chapter 1, p. 9. [Another source of the same quote is used below.]

“Every day we need the discipline of self-humiliation, that we may be prepared to receive the heavenly gift, not to hoard it, not to rob God’s children of His blessing, but to give it in all its rich fullness to others. When more than now shall we need a heart open to receive, aching, as it were, with its longing to impart?

We are in duty bound to draw largely from the treasure house of divine knowledge. God wants us to receive much, in order that we may impart much. He desires us to be channels through which He can impart richly of His grace to the world.
Let sincerity and faith characterize your prayers. The Lord is willing to do for us “exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think.” Ephesians 3:20. Talk it; pray it. Do not talk unbelief. We cannot afford to let Satan see that he has power to darken our countenances and sadden our lives.” { 7T 273.4}

“When in trouble, when assailed by fierce temptations, they have the privilege of prayer. What an exalted privilege! Finite beings, of dust and ashes, admitted through the mediation of Christ, into the audience-chamber of the Most High. In such exercises the soul is brought into a sacred nearness with God, and is renewed in knowledge, and true holiness, and fortified against the assaults of the enemy. { An Appeal to Mothers 24.1 }
