Worship: For Heaven’s Sake The 7-branch candlestick in the holy place of the sanctuary shows the relationship between Christ and Christians. Just as Christ is the Light of the world, so are Christians that bear the Light to the world. They are as a city that is set on a hill. The candlestick, in its entirety, represents Christ, but especially does its main shaft, to which each branch is connected for its own light supply.
As the number 7 signifies completion and perfection, Christians are complete and perfect only in Christ. Only because Christ is the light, can we be the light. It is not the other way around–meaning that it is wrong to say, “Because we are the church, Christ remains in our midst.” In fact, “it is only as Christ remains in the middle of us are we His church,” says Pastor Flemons. Christians have no light of their own.

Wellness: For Health’s Sake Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that he believes most deaths are needless early deaths due to systemic medical practices and errors. A cnbc.com article he introduced reports that there are serious discrepancies in numbering the cause of all deaths, because of the way CDC (Centers for Disease Control) collects its statistics. Still “medical errors” are reportedly “the third-leading cause of death after heart disease and cancer.”
The cnbc.com article reports that “a recent John Hopkins study claims more than 250,000 people in the U.S. die every year from medical errors. Other reports claim the numbers to be as high as 440,000.”
“The reason for the discrepancy is that physicians, funeral directors, coroners and medical examiners rarely note on death certificates the human errors and system failures involved. Yet death certificates are what the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention rely on to post statistics for deaths nationwide.”
Though currently unsuccessful, efforts are being made to push for changes in the way death statistics are collected by CDC and to improve safeguards for patients and training for medical personnel.

Sharing Time Pastor Flemons held a brief discussion over the change of lyrics in hymns that tend to deflect Protestant beliefs and biblical truths in favor of Catholic doctrine. Also two listeners gave their testimonies. One is celebrating her 48th birthday today and the other is celebrating answers to the prayers of yesterday.
Special Prayer Please include in your prayers today call-in listeners 1808 and 6964. Listener 1808 asked that we pray God to strengthen her family, children, grandchild, and husband as well as his ministry. Also pray for listener 6964, who chose to ask nothing in particular.
Pray also for those undergoing surgery today and all grieving families (especially spouses). Pray for those fighting for their lives and against depression. Also pray for people living in areas of extreme heat and in those areas at risk of being destroyed by hurricanes and tornadoes and other natural disasters.
Remember to continue praying for the entire TOR broadcast family, that GOD will be free to bless us in the way that HE really wants to in 2018. Thank you!
