Words of Encouragement
Jeremiah 39:17-18 But I will deliver thee in that day, saith the LORD: and thou shalt not be given into the hand of the men of whom thou art afraid. For I will surely deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be for a prey unto thee: because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith the LORD.
Isaiah 42:16 And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.

For Heaven’s Sake…
First: When you rebel and do wrong, you expect others to do the same.
Saul had spent so much time trying to kill David that he expected David to be seeking to kill him. So when the Philistines came against Israel, he was fearful for his own life.
Second: While you’re so busy trying to destroy those in your home, your church, your job, you leave your home unguarded, and Satan takes the advantage.
Saul left Israel unguarded. Their greatest enemy, the Philistines, gained the advantage.
Third: Rebellion cuts off your prayers.
Saul had rebelled against the counsel of God through the prophet Samuel. Saul rebelled against the idea of David being king and sought to kill him. Thus, Israel’s next king was exiled. Saul killed the priests in a mad rage and thirst for the blood of David. As such, all of his spiritual lifelines were cut. And when he sought the LORD in prayer, there was no response. Only a gulf existed. God never turns away a sincere soul in need.
Fourth: Pray for your own character development.
By praying for others out of revenge and seeing the faults of others, while feeling secure about your own character, will have the reverse effect. You may find that afterward, you may end up in a lost state.
Fifth: Rebellion leads to witchcraft.
Rebellion leads to some form of witchcraft. Whatever is not of God is of Satan. Saul had once sought to kill witches, until he sought their help.
Sixth: Be careful where you get your counsel. Never seek help from the devil.
Saul, under the prophet Samuel, decreed all witches be executed. When he cut himself off from God, he sought the help of a witch. She then used witchcraft to make him think he was talking to the prophet Samuel. In fact, he was seeing and speaking to a demon. Saul should have known that the devil cannot bring up a prophet of God from the dead.
Seventh: Never belittle sin. It will kill you.
Satan belittles sin to entice you to sin. He makes you think it’s just a small thing. Then you do it. The more you do it, the more you keep doing it. You end up justifying the sin. Then Satan emphasizes the same sin and throws it back at you to crush you with it at your weakest and most perilous moment. Like he did with Saul, Satan can destroy your courage and make you feel hopeless. Saul was so scared that he fell as one dead in the presence of the witch. This was before he actually committed suicide on the battlefield.

For Health’s Sake…
The problem with science falsely so called is that after stating new findings, they conclude by undoing their so-called findings. The article is titled with the conclusion that bad diets have been tied to 400,000 deaths in 2015. Then the article ends, “This study could not, however, prove a direct cause-and-effect relationship.”
Such treatment leaves people distrustful of the information and resolved to eat anything they crave–at the risk of needless disease and early death. It is irresponsible. The issue is this says Pastor Flemons: money. They will never pay the millions necessary to prove that any fruit, vegetable, nut, or grain can save your life, when it can grow right in your backyard.
Nevertheless, the article says that not only does eating harmful things like salt and transfat contribute to premature death but so does not eating nuts, seeds, vegetables, and whole grains. Pastor Flemons believes that the number of premature deaths far exceed what is being reported in the article. He also retorted that the only food group missing is fruit. With that, you have the biblical diet. Just do that. Follow the Word.
