Worship: Seven Women Take Hold of One Man / Wellness: The Berkey Water Filter

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake
Isaiah 4:1-4, says Pastor Flemons, is a prophecy that helps us understand the end of time, as it relates to apostate Protestants and Sunday. The seven women, representing the various denominations, only wanted to be called by the name of the church in authority. Still, they wanted to keep their own denominational identity.

According to the prophetic reading in Word to the Little Flock, that is exactly what the Pope allows churches to do, as long as they simply honor the mark of Catholicism’s authority: Sunday as Sabbath. Specifically, “the Beast that changed the Sabbath, and the Image Beast [that] had followed on after, [] kept the Pope’s, and not God’s Sabbath. And all we were required to do, was to give up God’s Sabbath, and keep the Pope’s, and then we should have the mark of the Beast, and of his image.” {WLF 19.1}

“All the Protestant denominations eventually will keep Sunday. But God will have a remnant that will be faithful,” adds Pastor Flemons. The remnant is referred to as a beautiful branch, comely, and escaped of Israel in verse 2 of Isaiah 4. Verse 3 refers to the importance of keeping our names in the Lamb’s book of Life, he says. Verse 4 refers to the Investigative Judgment and the fiery trials we must pass through that refine us. When we fully give ourselves to God, we receive Gospel promises of pardon for past sins and power to live godly in the future.

“It’s not about a denomination,” he says. It’s about remaining faithful and not being dependent upon any organization. Denominations are simply vehicles that are to take God’s people in the right direction. When the wrong course is taken, then God’s faithful people will not follow, but powerfully stand firm upon the Word of God.

Wellness: For Health’s Sake Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, and Sis. Maria discussed and demonstrated the Berkey water filtration system. Their Berkey is a 2-gallon portable water filtration system that packs easily in carry-on bags, with “room to spare,” says Pastor Flemons. Sis. Maria added that the travel version holds about one gallon.

It does not soften water. However, it is great for water purification. It uses charcoal as its purification base. It also uses microfiltration with millions of microscopic pores that absorb 99.9% of the fluoride that passes through it and removes heavy metals and chlorine, as well as viruses, fungi, and bacteria. It simply purifies whatever kind of water that is placed in it, be it city water or water from a stream.

Sharing and Caring Time Sis. Maria shared more powerful readings from the book Power of Prayer, a collection of Ellen G. White writings on prayer. Specifically from Chapter 16, “Prayer and Rejoicing,” page 57, the readings emphasized four points: 1. that “The melody of praise is the atmosphere of heaven;” 2. that “With a song, Jesus in His earthly life met temptation“; 3. “with songs of thanksgiving He cheered His hours of labor, and brought heaven’s gladness to the toil-worn and disheartened“—The Ministry of Healing, 52; and 4. “Song is a weapon that we can always use against discouragement.” (The links lead to another source for the same message. Click on the link for the full passage. Also, read Psalm 92:1.)

Does the water filter provide alkaline water or distilled? The answer is that it simply filters whatever water is placed in it.

Special Prayer  Please include in your prayers today Listener 7222, who needs our prayers regarding her work situation, which she says is very challenging. Pray for God’s guidance and to be a witness for Him, that she stays humble and merciful, that she uses the correct words and tone when speaking. Also pray that she gets the opportunity to be accepted into the leadership development program. And pray for safe traveling mercies to Canada.

Pray for the McCray family, who’s grieving the loss of Paul’s cousin from thyroid cancer.

Please pray for Caller 1709, who is going through a difficult period in her life. Pray for God’s guidance in her life. Pray for her son, her daughter, her son-in-law, her granddaughter, and her children’s father.

Pray for Caller 3039’s son, whose 61st birthday is today. Also pray for decisions she has to make and pray for her health, for healing.

Remember the unspoken prayer request of each heart.

Words of Encouragement

Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. (Also read 1 Samuel 25:36-39 Conflict and Courage for June 13, CC 170.)

Hosea 14:5, 6 I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon. His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon.   (Also read With God at Dawn for June 13, WGD 166.)

Worship: The Mark of the Beast, the Name of the Beast, or the Number of His Name / Wellness: Vitamin D Helps Regulate Blood Sugar

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake You own the mark of the beast, when you have his mark or his name or the number of his name. “Those who have the mark are Catholics,” says Pastor Flemons. “They have it. They own it. They prize it,” he says. “It’s their reason for existence. . . . Everyone else receives it.”

We learned through his reading that in 1923, the Catholic Record of London proudly claims that the change of the day of worship from Saturday to Sunday is the mark of the Catholic Church’s authority, which they believe is above the Bible. They own it. And anyone who buys into the change joins them in its ownership. Three groups, says Pastor Flemons, comprise those who own the mark of the beast and who will be able to buy or sell, as a “privileged” group, but who will not be ultimately saved. Group One: Catholics. Group Two: Apostate Protestantism. Group Three: Everyone who submits to this authority for some personal material benefit, even when otherwise they are neutral or personally opposed to Catholicism. They just want to survive.

Pastor Flemons discussed the name of the beast in terms of its character. He noted in the Bible instances of character change necessitating the change of one’s name: for instance, Saul to Paul, Abram to Abraham, Sarai to Sarah, Simon to Peter. And the Bible tells us that those who are ushered into Heaven will be given a new name.

Finally, Pastor Flemons discussed the number of the name: 666. However, he does not believe it to primarily be Vacarius Felii Dei, which totals 666 in Roman numerals. Rather, he says that it is economic in nature. The economy he believes will be the driving force for submission to the beast in exchange to buy and sell. And he notes that the only other references in Scripture refer to weight, as in the value of gold for trading purposes.

Wellness: For Health’s Sake Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that vitamin D is essential for aiding in the regulation of blood sugar and in preventing diabetes. Reading from a health.news article, Pastor Flemons stated, “Diabetes is now a worldwide epidemic, putting researchers on the offensive as they continue to search for ways to stop it. A study published in the journal Nutrition Research found that supplementing with vitamin D can reduce insulin resistance and improve the levels of fasting blood sugar in healthy adults, preventing the development of diabetes.”

Another “study . . . has suggested that people with vitamin D deficiency may be more likely to develop diabetes.” Pastor Flemons discussed the difference between vitamin D2 and D3. He says that the vegetable-sourced vitamin D2 is very difficult to find. However, vitamin D3, which typically has an animal source is fine, in his opinion, if it is from lanolin. At any rate, Pastor Flemons advises having your vitamin D checked. If it is low, take the supplement, he says; but better yet, “get out in the sun.”

Sharing and Caring Time Sis. Maria shared more powerful readings from the book Power of Prayer, a collection of Ellen G. White writings on prayer. Specifically from Chapter 25, “The Promises of Prayer,” page 57, she emphasized three points: 1. that “In every circumstance, under every condition, the soul weighed down with grief and care, or fiercely assailed by temptation, may find assurance, support, and succor in the unfailing love and power of a covenant-keeping God.”—(Prophets and Kings, 631, 632.) {Pr 224.1}; 2. that “He knows that he has communion with the Saviour; and when reproved for his mistake in some matter of judgment, he does not walk sullenly, and complain of God, but turns the mistake into a victory;” 3. “By living faith you are to trust Him, even though the impulse is strong within you to speak words of distrust.”  (The links lead to another source for the same message. Pastor Flemons added to his testimony about being arrested and waking up everyone at 1 am by singing “The Love of God.”

Words of Encouragement

1 Samuel 25:28 I pray thee, forgive the trespass of thine handmaid: for the Lord will certainly make my lord a sure house; because my lord fighteth the battles of the Lord, and evil hath not been found in thee all thy days. (Also read 1 Samuel 25:18-35 Conflict and Courage for June 12, CC 169.)

Colossians 1:10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.  (Also read With God at Dawn for June 12, WGD 165.)

Worship: The 144,000 and the Great Multitude, Pt 5 / Wellness: Gargling

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake Pastor Flemons believes that the groups that John saw in Revelation 7:4 and 9 are the very same group. That means that the 144,000 is also the great multitude.

For this reason, Pastor Flemons says the 144,000 is not an exact or literal number of living saints at the coming of Christ. He believes the number is symbolic. He says that he believes the number is far greater than 144,000, that 144,000 is mathematically too small a number to total those proclaiming the gospel together with those to be saved and alive when Jesus comes.

Nevertheless, we are encouraged to strive to be one of the 144,000. Exactly who the 144,000 really are is not a requirement to work together to God’s glory. Most important, however, is to develop the character that is required to be counted as one of the 144,000.

[For further details, please read Revelation 7:1-4, 9-15; Revelation 14:1-4; and listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons.]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that gargling has health benefits. Most people probably have heard about gargling with warm salt water for sore throats. However, when you gargle with salt water or an herbal tea or some other liquid, you can have an immediate sense of relief in the throat, says Pastor Flemons. Gargling immediately reduces bacteria in the throat. Toxins are dislodged by gargling. It is a God-given gift. Unless there is some physiological hindrance, everyone can do it. So, before you swallow or spit, try gargling first!

Sharing and Caring Time Sis. Maria shared more powerful selections from the book Power of Prayer, a collection of Ellen G. White writings on prayer. Specifically from Chapter 34, “God Hears Your Prayers,” pages 72 and 73, she emphasized that “every precious promise He has given will be fulfilled to us“; His love and mercy and grace are continually flowing to satisfy our need.  {Pr 291.5}; “The Lord will certainly hear and answer the prayers of His workers if they will seek Him for counsel and instruction.“—(Evangelism, 399.) {Pr 34.2} (The links lead to another source for the same message.)

Sis. Michelle asked about the value of sleep prior to midnight versus those hours of sleep after midnight. (The reference is being searched out and will be shared later.) She also asked about personal details of King James who authorized the King James Version of the Bible.

Special Prayer  Please include in your prayers Listener 5638 (mother in Israel), who asks that we pray for her health (kidneys a bit sluggish) and for Curtis and Jennifer and their family.

Sis. Michelle asks that we pray for a truck driver friend, Chris, who fell asleep driving and is looking to learn a diagnosis of his problem. Also, please pray for her friend Jordan, whose grandmother passed after being prescribed wrong medication.

Listener 2596 has been asked to start a Bible study. Pray for her.

Please pray for Brenda, a new acquaintance of Sis. Audrey.

1 Samuel 17:45 Then said David to the Philistine, … I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. (Also read 1 Samuel 17:38-58 Conflict and Courage for June 7, CC 164.)

Worship: The 144,000 and the Great Multitude, Pt 3 / Wellness: Natural Remedies for Sinus Infections

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake
Pastor Flemons says the 144,000 is not an exact or literal number of living saints at the coming of Christ. He believes the number is symbolic. He says that he believes the number is far greater than 144,000, that 144,000 is mathematically too small a number to total those proclaiming the gospel together with those to be saved and alive when Jesus comes.

We don’t know all that we will know about the 144,000, says Pastor Flemons. Part 3 deals with the special resurrection of the saints who have died in connection with the message of the 144,000. They are at least with the 144,000. Whether they are beside the 144,000 or are counted among the 144,000, is not clear, says Pastor Flemons. Nevertheless, we are encouraged to strive to be one of the 144,000, and exactly who the 144,000 really are is not a requirement to work together to God’s glory.

[For further details, please read Daniel 12:1; Revelation 14:12; Early Writings, EW 285; Adventist Home, AH 483; 7BC 970; Revelation 7:9, 13, 15;Revelation 1:7; and listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang Hymn 340, “Jesus Saves.”]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, presented great news for the many people who have been diagnosed with sinus infections. He discussed making a simple sinus solution, which is detailed below.

He also demonstrated another remedy that is also detailed below and may be viewed on FB. Other natural remedies he says that have an antibiotic effect include colloidal silver, echinacea, MMS, and Rocket Fuel. However, it is essential that you must get rid of the flesh of animals and their byproducts as food, as well as excessive sugar.

Sharing and Caring Time Sis. Maria shared more powerful selections from the book Power of Prayer, a collection of Ellen G. White writings on prayer. Specifically from Chapter 50, “Watch Unto Prayer,” from pages 100 and 101, she emphasized these points: “Godliness is in danger of being crowded out of the soul through over-devotion to business.” “The young are ignorant of the many dangers to which they are daily exposed.” “Till the conflict is ended, there will be those who will depart from God. . . . Wellness: For Health’s Sake…

Sinus Treatment

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp. aluminum free baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsps. Witch Hazel
  • 4 cups warm water

Directions:

Combine all the ingredients. Pour a small amount of the solution into the palm of your hand or into the lid of a jar. Sniff the solution into one nostril, while pressing to close the other nostril. Once the solution passes through the nostril, it will drain into the throat. Spit it out. Follow the same procedure on the other nostril. Next, use a portion of the solution to gargle with and spit out. NEVER SWALLOW THE GARGLED LIQUID. Repeat the 3-part cycle three to four times (left nostril, then right nostril, then gargle). Do the treatment two to three times a day. This process is made easier if a neti pot is used.

Epsom Salt Compress

The warm Epsom salt compress requires a hand towel dipped in about 1/2 gallon of hot water, containing 1 tablespoon of Epsom salt. The hand towel must be folded in thirds (yielding two creases), with the ends folded over and down together into a triangular shape, similar to the paper airplane fold. This is dipped into the hot water solution and placed over the sinuses with the pointed tip of the cloth angled toward the forehead, while the lower point straddles the bridge of the nose, causing the flaps to extend downward along the sides of the nose and over the cheeks. It is held in this position until the cloth cools. It may be repeated as needed, until relief is experienced. (View the FB demonstration. See above.)

Worship: A Pharisee Is Sad You See, Part 9 / Wellness: How to Test Yourself for Food Allergies

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake
God loves Pharisees. He wants them all saved. And He has a soul-winning plan for a Pharisee, who is willing to forsake Pharisaism, which drives people out of the church. Confessing to having been a Pharisee himself, Pastor Flemons says that he wants to help save other Pharisees, probably especially those in Present Truth. He realizes that his goal is extremely difficult with extremely little hope for great success. Still, in light of the Apostle Paul’s conversion and singular contribution to the church, it is well worth the effort.

Basing his talk on Revelation 3:1-6, Pastor Flemons discussed how Pharisaism developed in the Christian church, and particularly in Present Truth today. The church in Sardis provided an example. A social club atmosphere paved the way for Pharisees to emerge within the Christian church. They focused on their social standing and stopped studying the character of Christ.

Pastor Flemons repeated a quote that sums up how the church is cleansed of such attitudes: “Prosperity multiplies a mass of professors. Adversity purges them out of the church.—Testimonies for the Church 4:89 (1876). {LDE 173.5}” “We need persecution,” says Pastor Flemons, “because it brings out who is really walking with the Lord.” After persecution ended for the Protestant Reformers, Pharisaism emerged.

Sadly, Pharisees are self-deceived, self-righteous, self-proclaimed Christians that push doctrine to the extent of capital punishment for the erring (thinking they are doing God a favor). Yet they fail to realize when they themselves are in error. A Pharisee is sad, you see.

[For further details, please read Revelation 3:1-6; and listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang Hymn 593, “In Times Like These.”]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, taught how to determine for yourself whether you are allergic to a food. First, you need to know how to take your own pulse. He demonstrated how to do that step-by-step. (Please watch the online FB video.) Once you can take your own pulse, eat a food. Chew the food, until it is liquified. Then spit it out and retake the pulse. If the pulse rises significantly, then you have an allergy for that food.

It’s a super simple and quick process that doesn’t involve all the typical complications or costs of standard food allergy testing.

(For further details, please listen to the recording.)

Worship: A Pharisee Is Sad You See, Part 8 / Wellness: Cold and Flu Drugs, Bad for Your Heart

Basing his talk on Matthew 23:29-39, Pastor Flemons discussed the self-deception of Pharisees. They believe that had they lived in an earlier period, they would not have made the same mistakes that earlier so-called godly people did in killing God’s prophets. Yet in effect, they do the very same things. When they gossip and spread lies, they kill the character of God’s people in an effort to cause their failure. Pharisees must stop picking and choosing from the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy, while ignoring the principles of treating people.

Sadly, Pharisees are self-deceived, self-righteous, self-proclaimed Christians that push doctrine to the extent of capital punishment for the erring (thinking they are doing God a favor). Yet they fail to realize when they themselves are in error. A Pharisee is sad, you see.

“If you see major problems in your home,” says Pastor Flemons, “check yourself as a parent. You may be a Pharisee. Your children’s behavior toward you are a barometer of your own Christianity.”

[For further details, please read Matthew 23:29-39; and listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang Hymn 463, “Blessed Assurance.”]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, shared a health.news article that reveals how cold and flu medicines can cause heart problems. Research has shown, according to the article, “that cold and flu products containing non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and decongestants can increase blood pressure levels while expanding the risk of other cardiovascular events.”

“Anything that constricts the blood vessels and raises blood pressure is never a good idea,” says Dr. Steven Nissen, a cardiologist at the Cleveland Clinic, according to the article. He is further quoted as having said that not taking any such drugs is “the best thing that you could do.”

Pastor Flemons highly recommends safe alternatives like Rocket Fuel. Rocket fuel contains lots of garlic, the powerfully effective antibiotic, as well as lemon, agave or honey, ginger, cayenne powder, and water. They are simply blended together and consumed throughout the day. It naturally boosts the immune system, as do the other wonderful natural alternatives: oil of oregano, elderberry syrup, and echinacea. These have all been discussed during previous recordings.

(For further details, please listen to the recording and read the article in full.)

The reading of four quotations reveals that Satan’s angels are wise to do evil; that if we are to be victorious over them, we are to sink self; that we are to be morally courageous; that our will must be voluntarily submitted; and that we must be particularly prepared in the last great conflict to guard against Satanic agencies in human form. Worship: A Pharisee Is Sad You See, Part 7 / Wellness: Rebound for Your Health!

Basing his talk on Matthew 23:24-28 Pastor Flemons discussed the importance of focusing on the inner being, rather than neglecting the inner person to focus on the personal good works that others can see. He encourages all and especially Pharisees to forsake hypocrisy and focus on having the fruit of the Spirit, as mentioned in Galatians 5:22 and 23: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance. These are what brings others to Christ, especially those closest to you.

Sadly, Pharisees are self-deceived, self-righteous, self-proclaimed Christians that push doctrine to the extent of capital punishment for the erring (thinking they are doing God a favor). Yet they fail to realize when they themselves are in error. A Pharisee is sad, you see.

[For further details, please read Matthew 23:24-28; Matthew 5:16; and listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang Hymn 76, “O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go.”]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that rebounding is a healthy practice with many benefits. He recommends the Urban Rebounder, which has special springs and costs closer to the $100 range.

Regardless of the one chosen, he advises the elderly, or those not surefooted, to place their mini trampoline near a very sturdy object to hold onto for safety. Some even have the built-in anchors. But by all means, include rebounding in your exercise program, especially on those days when walking outside is prohibitive.

Rebounding has wonderful health benefits. It boosts lymphatic drainage, which is important to a healthy immune system. It increases bone mass, and improves digestion. It is twice as effective as running, without the extra stress on ankles and knees. It increases endurance and helps improve balance. It helps improve the effects of other exercise and helps circulate oxygen throughout body to increase energy. It also improves muscle tone throughout the body and helps support the thyroid and adrenals. Besides, it’s fun, which itself is healthy to the whole body; as a merry heart doeth good, like a medicine. (Read Proverbs 17:22.)

(For further details, please listen to the recording and read the article that formed the basis of his discussion.)

Sharing and Caring Time Sis. Maria read the promise of Psalm 6:9 and passages from “When Much Prayer Is Needed,” Chapter 8, in the book Power of Prayer, by Ellen G. White, p. 24-25. The reading of four quotations reveals that we must take time for meditation, for prayer, and for the study of God’s word; that God wants men who can not merely sermonize but who can also meet the urgent needs of the people; that through much prayer you must labor for souls; and how to go on unto perfection. Worship: A Pharisee Is Sad You See, Part 5 / Wellness: Too Much Protein Leads to Asthma, Allergies

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake
“Pharisees will drive you out of the church,” says Pastor Flemons. Confessing to having been a Pharisee himself, Pastor Flemons says that he wants to help save other Pharisees, probably especially those in Present Truth. He realizes that his goal is extremely difficult with extremely little hope for great success. Still, in light of the Apostle Paul’s conversion and singular contribution to the church, it is worth the effort.

Basing his talk on Matthew 23:13-15, Pastor Flemons says that Pharisees are outside of God’s will. They won’t go to Heaven. And they keep others from going as well. While they won’t compromise on principle, they will add made-up restrictions that lay burdens on others. It’s all about how they treat other people, he says.

They even have levels of wrongdoing. They look for wrongdoing to press condemnation on others. And they are easily angered when someone else differs in some slight way of looking at things.

Pharisees can also be involved in immorality. And they forget that they have a past. Instead, they prefer to dwell on the past sins of someone else. All the while, Pharisees publicly perform righteous deeds to be deemed righteous. However, a Pharisee’s strict, unloving, condemnatory character keeps him or her from winning souls, while crossing land and sea seeking to win souls. If they do bring in some soul, that soul becomes twofold worse than they.

Pharisees are self-deceived, self-righteous, self-proclaimed Christians that push doctrine to the extent of capital punishment for the erring (thinking they are doing God a favor). Yet they fail to realize when they themselves are in error. A Pharisee is indeed sad, you see.

[For further details, please read Matthew 23:13-15; and listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang Hymn 108, “Amazing Grace,”after which he took special time for answering FB questions.]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that you can eat too much protein and cause the body to be toxic. Eating too much protein causes asthma. When you have asthma, you have allergies. He says that eating too much protein causes allergic reactions, even those that you don’t acquaint with allergic reactions, like migraine headaches, for instance.

The flesh of animals and their byproducts, like eggs, milk and cheese, have a high protein content. We need to understand, says Pastor Flemons, “We were not made to drink the milk of a cow.” And we really do not need so much protein to be healthy.

“We’ve been lied to,” he says. We would do well to simply eat more of the fruits and vegetables and less of nuts and other protein-rich foods. Besides that, we should completely exclude the protein sourced from the flesh of animals (including fowls and fish) and their byproducts: the eggs, the milk, the cheese.

(For further details, please listen to the recording.)

Sharing and Caring Time Sis. Maria’s shared “Safeguards for the Future,” Chapter 27, in the book Power of Prayer, by Ellen G. White, p. 59. The reading reveals how we can be drawn into the secret pavilion of the Most High God, when under Satan’s attacks; that the God of truth is a sure defense; how that the false will so closely resemble the true, that it will be impossible to distinguish between them except by the Holy Scriptures. None but those who have fortified the mind with the truths of the Bible will stand the last great conflict. (Hyperlinks lead to another source for the same quote or message.)

1 Samuel 7:6, 8 We have sinned against the Lord…. Cry unto the Lord our God for us.  (Also read 1 Samuel 7 Conflict and Courage for May 19, CC 145.)

Worship: A Pharisee Is Sad You See, Part 4 / Wellness: You Can Kill Cancer Too Fast

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake
“Pharisees will drive you out of the church,” says Pastor Flemons. Confessing to having been a Pharisee himself, Pastor Flemons says that he wants to help save other Pharisees, even those in Present Truth, although he realizes that his goal is beyond the level of normal difficulty.

Basing his talk on Matthew 23:5-12, Pastor Flemons says that a Pharisee makes special effort that people see the good that they are doing: that they are following the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy. They emphasize the outward. They love the uppermost room. The choose the chief seat at church.

They want to be seen as righteous, even when there is chaos at home. Their children see all of it, rebel, and can’t wait to be away from it. They don’t even know how to follow God. Their examples have been woefully deficient. Pharisees don’t know how to treat people, says Pastor Flemons. Rather, Pharisees have a controlling spirit. Therefore, if you don’t see anything the way that they see it, they will cut you off.

Pharisees are self-deceived, self-righteous, self-proclaimed Christians that push doctrine to the extent of capital punishment for the erring (thinking they are doing God a favor). Yet they fail to realize when they themselves are in error. A Pharisee is sad, you see.

[For further details, please read Matthew 23:5-12; Galatians 6:1-3; and listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang Hymn 207, “It May Be at Morn.”]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that you can kill cancer faster than your body can eliminate the toxins. That is killing cancer too fast. When the body is not able to pass out the toxins as quickly as the cancer is being killed, complications can occur. You may feel as though you are getting worse, even though that may not be the case.

You might just need to back off a bit. “Go slower,” says Pastor Flemons. While you are curing cancer, you want to pace the process. Keep checking your pH with the pH strips to keep your alkalinity from spiking beyond a safe range for you. A safe pH is generally 7.5 to 8. Going above 8 may be intolerable for you. In this case, you may require help. Pastor Flemons may be reached for personal consultation at 706-897-8537.

Sharing and Caring Time Sis. Maria’s reading came from “God Invites You to Come,” Chapter 69, in the book Power of Prayer, by Ellen G. White, pp 137, 138. It reveals that God waits to welcome us to His audience chamber, that we can come to God with the simplicity of a child, that precious gifts are in store for the children of God. We learned that He longs to give. He longs to have you spread out your case before Him, whatever your problems or anxieties. Heaven is open to our petitions; and we are to come boldly. (The hyperlinks lead to other sources for the same message.)

Pastor Flemons answered questions about a remedy to restore short-term memory loss and reconciling these Bible texts: Luke 12:51; John 14:27; andMatthew 10:34-36.

Special Prayer  Please include in your prayers Listener 5777, who asks that we pray for divine overcoming power in the circumstances the family is now facing. Pray for the controlling Spirit to be that of God.

Please pray that Sis. Chester and her husband receive divine wisdom to make a very important decision. And please pray for all the unspoken prayer requests of every heart. Thank you.

Words of Encouragement

1 Samuel 3:1 And the child Samuel ministered unto the Lord before Eli.   (Also read1 Samuel 3 Conflict and Courage for May 18, CC 143.)

Ecclesiastes 2:11 Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun. (Also read With God at Dawn for May 18, WGD 140.)

Worship: A Pharisee Is Sad You See, Part 2 / Wellness: Licorice Root and DGL

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake
“Pharisees will drive you out of the church,” says Pastor Flemons. Confessing to having been a Pharisee himself, Pastor Flemons says that Pharisees lack the love that resides in the hearts of true disciples of Christ. Pharisees are self-righteous, self-proclaimed Christians that push doctrine to the extent of capital punishment for the erring (thinking they are doing God a favor), but fail to realize when they themselves are in error. Even so, Pastor Flemons decided to provide this short series in an attempt to save a Pharisee.

They sit in the seat of Moses. They know the law. They know current events in light of prophecy and promote Present Truth. “Do what they say, but don’t act like they act,” says Pastor Flemons. “They understand the right doctrine, but they don’t know how to treat people,” he says. They may backbite, do evil to their neighbors, even take up a reproach against their neighbors. And yet they trust in their own opinions and are locked in to them. They are so proud of themselves that most of them can never be corrected. They can only see your faults, never their own. In this way, they lock themselves into a lost situation and lose out on salvation.

But God wants to save us all. And He wants to save a Pharisee, like the Apostle Paul, who was converted to Christianity, while he was traveling to Damascus to kill Christians that he thought were wrong and deserving of death.

[For further details, please read Matthew 23:1-3; Psalm 15; John 13:35; Acts 9; and listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang Hymn 88, I Sing the Mighty Power of God.”]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that licorice is a wonderful God-given herb. It is a very sweet herb that is good for a lot of conditions, including low blood sugar, low blood pressure, hormonal issues, the adrenal glands, peptic ulcers, and acid reflux.

However, licorice has a substance that makes taking licorice prohibitive during pregnancy. That is because it has been found to cause problems for the child. It has been linked to ADHD and other developmental issues, including a low IQ.

Therefore DGL, Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice, is recommended for its safety. DGL is a type of licorice that has had that substance (glycyrrizin) removed. Yet, it maintains its effectiveness. For instance, it increases the mucus lining in the stomach. That is a good thing. This way, it guards against excess acids, while it heals the stomach of ulcers. It helps eliminate the H. pylori bacteria, which is the main cause of stomach cancer, peptic ulcers and related issues, says Pastor Flemons. He says that you can get it usually in the form of chewable tablets. He added that it is usually available at any health food store and is relatively inexpensive.

(For further details, please listen to the recording.)

Sharing and Caring Time Sis. Maria read three passages from “When Much Prayer Is Needed,” Chapter 8, in the book Power of Prayer, by Ellen G. White. They tell how to be fitted for usefulness–how we can achieve higher Christian attainments, including how to turn aside the attacks of the devil; how we must deal gently with others, not try to humble others but humble ourselves instead; and how important it is to remain active in order for God to send His inspiration to us. (These passages are hyperlinked to other sources for the same quote.)

Pastor Flemons responded to a question about the pH level with respect to the baking soda/molasses protocol. Sis. Michelle praised God for being accepted into a work program for seniors.

Special Prayer  Please include in your prayers Listener 3039, Sis. Rudder, who asks that we pray for her as she is going through a great challenge now. She needs God’s direction, wisdom and healing. And she is asking for strength and courage for her children.

Pray that Sis. Michelle will be able to successfully get out of debt and that God will bless her work with the senior program.

Pray for complete healing without surgery for Sis. Odessa and for her finances and her ministry in the community.

Also pray for Alison, who is having a special challenge this morning. And remember to pray for all the unspoken prayer requests of our hearts. Thank you.
