Words of Encouragement
Isaiah 37:32 For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the LORD of hosts shall do this.
Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

For Heaven’s Sake…
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life,” (John 14:6). And Psalm 77:13 says the way of the LORD is in His sanctuary. As the sanctuary or temple reveals the way of the LORD, so the body, which is the temple of GOD (1 Corinthians 6:19) reveals the plan of redemption. Particularly, the life is in the blood of the body (Leviticus 17:11 and 14). Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, has been shown the gospel in the circulation of the blood in the human body, as it flows upward from the feet.
Like those being drawn to Christ, the blood is drawn upward to the right atrium. Spiritually, the right atrium is the first upper room of Mark 14:15, where the disciples were sent by Christ to prepare for the Passover. They were still unconverted at this stage.
The blood then flows through the tricuspid valve. This three-panel parachute looking valve represents the forgiveness of iniquity, transgression and sin, as mentioned in Exodus 34:7.
The cordae tendineae or the cords extending from this valve represent the cords mentioned in Hosea 11:4. They are the cords of the man, Jesus. “I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love.” In John 6:44, Jesus says, “No man can come to me, except the Father, which hath sent me draw him, and I will raise him up at the last day.” In John 12:32, Jesus says, “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.”
Once through the valve, the blood flows to the right ventricle. This requires a down-up motion. The down-up motion is like the baptism of water, or the first baptism. Matthew 3:11 reveals a baptism by water, followed by the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and the baptism of fire.
As the blood enters the first semilunar valve, we are reminded that the newly baptized Christian only partially reflects the character of Christ, the Son of God. Semilunar means only a half-moon reflection of the sun of God. Once past the semilunar valve, the blood flows to the lungs, where it is empowered or purified. Spiritually, this is the baptism of the Holy Spirit. John 20:22, “And when he [Jesus] had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost.”
Prior to receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the repentant believer is only being prepared to receive the Holy Spirit, which empowers the believer to live a pure life. Prior to entering the lungs the blood is the deoxygenated color of blue. The blood has now been prepared to enter the lungs for purification.
For Health’s Sake…
As the blood flows from the lungs, the place of purification by the breath, the blood flows out to through the right and left pulmonary veins, the only veins that carry oxygen-rich blood. Like everyone that is born of the Spirit, there is zeal but more knowledge is needed. There must be more training for greater service.
Arriving at the left atrium, the blood is now in the second upper room, the upper chamber of the heart. This is like the upper room, where the disciples met after conversion as described in Acts 1:13 and 14. Here, Jesus breathed the Holy Spirit on the disciples. John 3:8 likens the wind to the Holy Spirit.
The blood leaves the upper chamber through the bicuspid valve. This two-panel valve represents the two-fold method of Christian labor described in Luke 9:1 and confirmed in verse 2. Jesus “called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.”
The cordae tendineae, like Jesus, the great medical missionary, directs the blood to the left ventricle, in preparation for another baptism: the baptism of fire. Here there is another contraction of blood with the down-up motion of baptism. This baptism of fire is described in Isaiah 48:10, “Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction”; and in 2 Timothy 3:12, “Yea, all that live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”
The blood then flows through the second semilunar valve into the aorta. As semi means half, this second passing through a semiluar valve represents the Christian more fully representing the character of God. As the blood then travels up the aorta, the first exits are the two openings leading to the right and left coronary arteries. The physiology of the coronary arteries, both in color and shape, are like the crown of thorns that Jesus wore. The bright red blood is paralleled by the blue blood in the coronary vein. The combination of red and blue colors produce purple, like the purple robe that was placed on Jesus as He wore the crown of thorns for His sacrifice of redemption for us at Calvary.
True to a coronation, Pilate in John 19:14 said, “Behold your King!”
He also said, “Behold the Man!” in John 19:5 and Pastor Flemons reminds us to keep our eyes on the man Christ Jesus.
