How Christ Fulfilled the Law
The wise man, King Solomon, says that the conclusion of the whole matter lies in keeping the commandments of God. It is the whole duty of man. Pastor Shelem Flemons has then fittingly provided a broad study of God’s Ten Commandments in a way possibly few would expect. Every serious student of Scripture will benefit from the reading. Consider it your “heavenly homeland security.” Available here: https://torwm.org/product/how-christ-fulfilled-the-law/.

Words of Encouragement
Romans 8:10-11 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Psalm 125:1 They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.

For Heaven’s Sake…
Moses was dead. His influence, however, did not die with him but lived on. Silently, his words empowered the children of Israel. His works and his example of a holy life spoke loudly to their hearts. And they kept the memory of Moses as they followed their new leader Joshua, who had acted as a prime minister to Moses.
Even so, Joshua was anxious and self-distrustful about the huge responsibility. And God reassured him that He would be with him as He was with Moses. He was promised the land underneath his foot, wherever it touched ground. Only, Joshua was to be very courageous in obeying the voice of God. He was to turn not to the right or to the left from the law. He was to meditate on it day and night. Good success was thereby promised.
Joshua learned a lesson from the experience of the twelve spies years earlier. Instead of sending twelve spies, Joshua only sent two into Jericho. Those two received special help after they were detected inside of the walls of Jericho. Rahab, the harlot, risked her own life, hid them, and saved their lives. This same harlot, noted Pastor Flemons, gave her heart to God and became a grandmother of Jesus, the Messiah.
The spies returned from the city of Jericho with the report to move forward and take the city. The inhabitants were fearful of the Israelites. Before moving forward, however, the Israelites had to sanctify themselves. And they had to be circumcised. They were to follow the ark of the covenant into battle. But first they had to follow it across the river Jordan.
As the soles of the feet of the priests bearing the ark stepped into the river and crossed over the river, the waters on one side stopped but continued to flow on the other side! Once again God provided a miraculous dry path through dangerous waters for His people. The testimony of this crossing preceded them by those who witnessed their crossing. The heathen inhabitants heard about the miraculous crossing and became filled with terror. The children of Israel crossed over, encamped and worshipped God. They called the place of encampment Gilgal, which means “a rolling away.” It was the time of the Passover, which was there renewed, along with the rite of circumcision. For God rolled away the reproach of Egypt from off them. This is also the time that the miraculous manna from God stopped. “‘Neither had the children of Israel manna any more; but they did eat of the fruit of the land of Canaan.’ The long years of their desert wandering were ended. The feet of Israel were at last treading the Promised Land.” PP486.2
The lesson for us today is in meditating upon the word of God both night and day, being fiercely obedient, and very courageous to go forward in the name of the LORD to do His will. “Our hesitancy has nothing to do with God,” says Pastor Flemons. When we are hesitant and disobedient, we make God and Christianity look bad. God is the same God that He was during the crossing of the Jordan and the Red Sea on dry land. And today He wants to do miraculous things in our lives and through us, if we would only be obedient and very courageous to obey His will. Then, as now, God wants all the people of the earth to know “the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the LORD your God for ever” Joshua 4:24.

For Health’s Sake…
“Healthy blood,” says Pastor Flemons, “is five times thicker than water.” Therefore, when we fail to drink adequate water every day, we put our lives at risk. The blood becomes even thicker. That causes the heart to work harder to pump blood through the arteries.
Inadequate water also damages kidneys and the liver and raises the blood pressure, because water helps flush toxins out of the body through urination. The lack of water damages the arteries. Dehydration causes physical stress on the body, causes the arteries to constrict, which causes the body to release more cholesterol and fats that with buildup clog the arteries. It becomes a dangerous cycle of health issues.
To help remain healthy, drink half your body’s weight in ounces of water. That would mean that a 200-pound person should drink 100 ounces of water daily. Unsweetened herbal tea counts toward pure water intake. This is how you can proudly lift your glass toward heaven and freely drink to your health.
