Words of Encouragement

Romans 8:18  For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Psalm 125:5  As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the LORD shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall be upon Israel.

For Heaven’s Sake…

Some tribes still had to conquer enemies to settle their allotment. As such, their personal faith was tested. The Ephraimites showed their lack of courage and faith in securing their own land. They spoke of the chariots of iron the inhabitants possessed and thought to possess territory already subdued. But Joshua would not allow their fears to sway them from receiving the blessings of God. With God on their side, they were not to be afraid of the strongest of foes.

Caleb, on the other hand, set an example in showing tremendous courage, even at the age of 85. He was the oldest man in Israel and was first to lay his claim. He had set his heart on the land they had spied out at the first, where the giants lived. It had been the home of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, all who were buried in the cave there in Machpelah of Hebron. But Hebron was still in possession of the Anakims, who had terrified the ten spies and caused the people of God to turn away forty-five years prior. Still, Caleb believed God. He had no doubt that he could drive out the Anakims. And he did. Even then he did not rest in selfish ease. He continued to conquer for the nation and for the glory of God.

“‘When they had made an end of dividing the land,’ and all the tribes had been allotted their inheritance. Joshua presented his claim. To him, as to Caleb, a special promise of inheritance had been given; yet he asked for no extensive province, but only a single city. ‘They gave him the city which he asked, … and he built the city, and dwelt therein.’ The name given to the city was Timnath-serah, ‘the portion that remains’—a standing testimony to the noble character and unselfish spirit of the conqueror, who, instead of being the first to appropriate the spoils of conquest, deferred his claim until the humblest of his people had been served. PP 515.1

“The cowards and rebels had perished in the wilderness, but the righteous spies ate of the grapes of Eschol. To each was given according to his faith. The unbelieving had seen their fears fulfilled. Notwithstanding God’s promise, they had declared that it was impossible to inherit Canaan, and they did not possess it. But those who trusted in God, looking not so much to the difficulties to be encountered as to the strength of their Almighty Helper, entered the goodly land. It was through faith that the ancient worthies ‘subdued kingdoms, … escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.’ Hebrews 11:33, 34. ‘This is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.’ 1 John 5:4. PP 513.2”

For Health’s Sake…

Warm Epsom salt soaks help lower the blood pressure quickly. The magnesium in the Epsom salt and the warm water relax the smooth muscles that form the walls of the arteries. This causes them to dilate, lowering blood pressure.

Simply take a warm 20-minute bath with 1-2 cups of Epsom salt. If necessary, add hot water to keep the water warm. This simple and easy remedy is a very powerful example of responding to disease the REFRESHING Way. It doesn’t have to be hard; and you don’t have to be tied to toxic drugs for a lifetime to normalize blood pressure.

Jesus said, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30). This is biblical wellness.
