How Christ Fulfilled the Law
The wise man, King Solomon, says that the conclusion of the whole matter lies in keeping the commandments of God. It is the whole duty of man. Pastor Shelem Flemons has then fittingly provided a broad study of God’s Ten Commandments in a way possibly few would expect. Every serious student of Scripture will benefit from the reading. Consider it your “heavenly homeland security.” Available here: https://torwm.org/product/how-christ-fulfilled-the-law/.

Words of Encouragement
Romans 8:20-21 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
Daniel 12:10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

For Heaven’s Sake…
Tithing did not begin in Canaan once the Israelites secured the Promised Land. Abraham tithed. (See Genesis 14:20.) Jacob tithed. (See Genesis 28:22.) In fact, tithing was practiced by the first family. “Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering” (Genesis 4:4). Like the Ten Commandments, tithing was only reaffirmed for the Israelites in Canaan.
“As the Israelites were about to be established as a nation, the law of tithing was reaffirmed as one of the divinely ordained statutes upon obedience to which their prosperity depended.PP 525.2
“The system of tithes and offerings was intended to impress the minds of men with a great truth—that God is the source of every blessing to His creatures, and that to Him man’s gratitude is due for the good gifts of His providence.PP 525.3
“’He giveth to all life, and breath, and all things.’ Acts 17:25. The Lord declares, ‘Every beast of the forest is Mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.’ Psalm 50:10. ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine.’ Haggai 2:8. And it is God who gives men power to get wealth. Deuteronomy 8:18. As an acknowledgment that all things came from Him, the Lord directed that a portion of His bounty should be returned to Him in gifts and offerings to sustain His worship.PP 525.4
“’The tithe … is the Lord’s.’ Here the same form of expression is employed as in the law of the Sabbath. ‘The seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God.’ Exodus 20:10. God reserved to Himself a specified portion of man’s time and of his means, and no man could, without guilt, appropriate either for his own interests.PP 525.5
“The tithe was to be exclusively devoted to the use of the Levites, the tribe that had been set apart for the service of the sanctuary. But this was by no means the limit of the contributions for religious purposes. The tabernacle, as afterward the temple, was erected wholly by freewill offerings; and to provide for necessary repairs and other expenses, Moses directed that as often as the people were numbered, each should contribute a half shekel for ‘the service of the tabernacle.’ In the time of Nehemiah a contribution was made yearly for this purpose. See Exodus 30:12-16; 2 Kings 12:4, 5; 2 Chronicles 24:4-13; Nehemiah 10:32, 33. From time to time sin offerings and thank offerings were brought to God. These were presented in great numbers at the annual feasts. And the most liberal provision was made for the poor.PP 526.1″

For Health’s Sake…
Hibiscus is just a flower. It is frequently found as a beautiful addition to many yards and many commercial landscapes. But God has given it to us not only to beautify our surroundings but also as an effective remedy for high blood pressure. It seems to act as an ace inhibitor, which widens or dilates the blood vessels, which increases blood flow, eases the burden on the heart, and lowers blood pressure.
Its petals are used in making a tea, which has been found to be as equally effective as lisinopril. It was found to be more effective than hydrochlorothiazide, which is a standard blood pressure medication. Hibiscus, however, has no side effects.
One person reported lower blood pressure readings after drinking 20 ounces of the tea daily. After only six months, her average blood pressure registered at 109/71. You can read her story in the September 5, 2016, article at PeoplesPharmacy.com. “How to Lower Blood Pressure with Hibiscus Tea” is available at this link: https://www.peoplespharmacy.com/2016/09/05/how-to-lower-blood-pressure-with-hibiscus-tea/.
Hibiscus is included, thankfully, in Times of Refreshing’s herbal tonic and tea, designed to lower high blood pressure. The tea and tonic may be found and purchased at this link: https://torwm.org/product/hyper-10-shun-teatonic/.
