Words of Encouragement

Mark 11:23-24  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

John 6:27, 29 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. … Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

For Heaven’s Sake…

Jeroboam was now king of the ten tribes of Israel. They had refused to submit to the decidedly severe rulership of Rehoboam, Solomon’s son. Jeroboam had shown himself wise and of sound judgment under Solomon. He was in a prime position to rule the ten tribes of Israel with discretion. But he failed to make God his trust. His greatest fear was of losing their hearts to whoever occupied the throne of David.

He, therefore, had two shrines erected for worship and placed within them a symbol of the living God: a golden calf. This was to have urged the people of God to worship in one of these centers rather than travel to Jerusalem to worship God. This was to have prevented a revolt against his rulership. It failed. After Levites refused to serve as priests in these shrines, Jeroboam elevated to the priesthood those of the lowest estate. A great number of people and Levites soon fled to Jerusalem, rather than be persuaded to worship and serve in these idolatrous shrines.

God sent a prophet to show Jeroboam his sins. The prophet cried aloud at the altar, prophesying that the child Josiah would rule the house of David and priests who burned incense would be themselves be burned. The sign of the truthfulness of his message was immediately given. The altar was rent and ashes poured from it.

Jeroboam put forth his arm and ordered the prophet be restrained. Immediately his outstretched arm was paralyzed, until the prophet prayed God’s mercy, according to Jeroboam’s urgent plea. But then the prophet failed to follow the explicit directions of returning immediately without eating or drinking. On the alternate route, he met a false prophet, returned with him, ate at the prophet’s house, and was killed by a lion on his way back home.

“The penalty that overtook the unfaithful messenger was a still further evidence of the truth of the prophecy uttered over the altar. If, after disobeying the word of the Lord, the prophet had been permitted to go on in safety, the king would have used this fact in an attempt to vindicate his own disobedience. In the rent altar, in the palsied arm, and in the terrible fate of the one who dared disobey an express command of Jehovah, Jeroboam should have discerned the swift displeasure of an offended God, and these judgments should have warned him not to persist in wrongdoing. But, far from repenting, Jeroboam ‘made again of the lowest of the people priests of the high places: whosoever would, he consecrated him, and he became one of the priests of the high places.’ Thus he not only sinned greatly himself, but ‘made Israel to sin;’ and ‘this thing became sin unto the house of Jeroboam, even to cut it off, and to destroy it from off the face of the earth.’ Verses 33, 34; 14:16.PK 107.1

“The apostasy introduced during Jeroboam’s reign became more and more marked, until finally it resulted in the utter ruin of the kingdom of Israel. Even before the death of Jeroboam, Ahijah, the aged prophet at Shiloh who many years before had predicted the elevation of Jeroboam to the throne, declared: ‘The Lord shall smite Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water, and He shall root up Israel out of this good land, which He gave to their fathers, and shall scatter them beyond the river, because they have made their groves, provoking the Lord to anger. And He shall give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, who did sin, and who made Israel to sin.’ 1 Kings 14:15, 16.PK 107.3

“Yet the Lord did not give Israel up without first doing all that could be done to lead them back to their allegiance to Him. Through long, dark years when ruler after ruler stood up in bold defiance of Heaven and led Israel deeper and still deeper into idolatry, God sent message after message to His backslidden people. Through His prophets He gave them every opportunity to stay the tide of apostasy and to return to Him. During the years that were to follow the rending of the kingdom, Elijah and Elisha were to live and labor, and the tender appeals of Hosea and Amos and Obadiah were to be heard in the land. Never was the kingdom of Israel to be left without noble witnesses to the mighty power of God to save from sin. Even in the darkest hours some would remain true to their divine Ruler and in the midst of idolatry would live blameless in the sight of a holy God. These faithful ones were numbered among the goodly remnant through whom the eternal purpose of Jehovah was finally to be fulfilled.PK 108.1″

For Health’s Sake…

Toxins in the body system cause inflammation and pain and swelling. Toxins cause cancers of the reproductive system like uterine, ovarian and breast cancer in women and prostate cancer in men. Toxins also cause fibroids and endometriosis in women and an enlarged prostate in men.

Cancer is caused by toxins that invade the membrane of the cell. When the cell is bombarded with toxins, the wall of the cell becomes damaged. Then minerals, like sodium, calcium and magnesium, are not allowed in. These minerals attract oxygen. Potassium, which attracts sugar, is allowed inside the cell. And the problem mushrooms. The stage is set for any low-oxygen disease. Cancer is one of those low-oxygen diseases.

Although there is no one drug, nor is there any one remedy that will ever bring a cure (for that requires a total lifestyle change), water is a great place to begin relieving the body of toxins start the process of healing. Daily drink half your body’s weight in ounces of pure water. Not every body needs as much as eight or can get by with only eight glasses of water. No 300-pound person can get by daily drinking only eight glasses of water. Nearly nineteen glasses of water are needed. A 100-pound person only needs 50 ounces of water per day. That translates into only 6.25 glasses of water daily.

Drink water at room temperature. That is closer to your body’s core temperature. Drinking water that is too cold or too hot remains in the stomach too long, causing constipation or a weakening of the stomach.

The organs of elimination (the skin, lungs, colon, liver, and kidneys) must have adequate water to properly rid the body of toxins through perspiration, respiration, defecation, detoxification, and urination. If your urine is yellow, you are dehydrated and need to increase your water intake. Your urine should be colorless.

“The only hope of better things is in the education of the people in right principles. Let physicians teach the people that restorative power is not in drugs, but in nature. Disease is an effort of nature to free the system from conditions that result from a violation of the laws of health. In case of sickness, the cause should be ascertained. Unhealthful conditions should be changed, wrong habits corrected. Then nature is to be assisted in her effort to expel impurities and to re-establish right conditions in the system. MH 127.1″
