Worship: A Safeguard Against Error / Wellness: Supernatural Results

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  “The safest and surest way to dissipate the darkness of error, is to throw upon it the searchlight of truth–giving a clear and Biblical understanding. This principle applies to the sanctuary.” Just as Moses anointed the holy places of the sanctuary before Aaron began his high priestly ministry, Jesus for the same purpose, entered the holy places of the heavenly sanctuary immediately after his resurrection. And He received from God the Father, the approval of His sacrifice for humankind. “Doubtless an understanding of the spiritual significance of the earthly sanctuary and its relation to the true tabernacle would have saved the Hebrew nation from rejecting Christ and the truth regarding His work in the true sanctuary, just as it will save God’s people today from error and defeat.”

(For further details and to sing with Pastor Flemons Hymn 294, “Power in the Blood” please listen to the recording, and read Hebrews 9:3, 7, 12; Acts 3:19; Exodus 40:9, 12, 13; John 20:17; Luke 24:39.

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, read a letter received from a former guest who praises the TOR staff for help in overcoming impending death from full-blown AIDS sixteen years prior. The former guest is still enjoying great health and a productive life. Pastor Flemons presented also a brief talk on AIDs and what it really is and said that AIDs is easier to treat than cancer. He recommended we view “The House of Numbers,” the 2009 multiple award winner in the category of Best Documentary Feature. Quoting its own website, “It rocks the foundation upon which all conventional wisdom regarding HIV/AIDS is based.”

Pastor Flemons also discussed the difference between naturopathy and biblical wellness and presented a reading on natural healing, which appears in full below. (Read more below.)

Words of Encouragement

Philippians 2:9-11  Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Revelation 3:19, 20  As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. (Read also MB 11.1-12.2.)

For Health’s Sake…

God’s miracles do not always bear the outward semblance of miracles. Often they are brought about in a way which looks like the natural course of events. When we pray for the sick, we also work for them. We answer our own prayers by using the remedies within our reach. Water, wisely applied, is a most powerful remedy. As it is used intelligently, favorable results are seen. God has given us intelligence, and He desires us to make the most of His health-giving blessings. We ask that God will give bread to the hungry; we are then to act as His helping hand in relieving hunger. We are to use every blessing God has placed within our reach for the deliverance of those in danger. {2SM 346.3}

Natural means, used in accordance with God’s will, bring about supernatural results. We ask for a miracle, and the Lord directs the mind to some simple remedy. We ask to be kept from the pestilence that walketh in darkness, that is stalking with such power through the world; we are then to cooperate with God, observing the laws of health and life. Having done all that we possibly can, we are to keep asking in faith for health and strength. We are to eat that food which will preserve the health of the body. God gives us no encouragement that He will do for us what we can do for ourselves. Natural laws are to be obeyed. We are not to fail of doing our part. God says to us, “Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure” (Philippians 2:12, 13). {2SM 346.4}

We cannot disregard the laws of nature without disregarding the laws of God. We cannot expect the Lord to work a miracle for us while we neglect the simple remedies He has provided for our use, which, aptly and opportunely applied, will bring about a miraculous result. {2SM 346.5}

Therefore, pray, believe, and work.—Letter 66, 1901. {2SM 347.1}
