Worship: For Heaven’s Sake After Jesus completed the forty post-Resurrection days on Earth, He ascended to Heaven to begin “His work ‘as Priest and Advocate.’ DA 757.” He ascended before witnesses that included all the apostles, and Matthias, who was chosen by God to replace Judas Iscariot. With Jesus ascended the witnesses whom He had raised from their graves, after His resurrection. They had appeared and testified about the risen Christ to many throughout Jerusalem. They were not named. But we are told this. “‘They were chosen and holy ones of every age, from creation down even to the days of Christ.’ EW 184. They were redeemed ‘out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation.’ Rev. 5:8-10.” After their ascension, the same two angels who had appeared at the tomb on the morning of the Resurrection, and “‘who had been with Him throughout His life on earth,’ lingered a moment to comfort the disciples who were left behind.” They said, “This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven” (Acts 1:11).

Wellness: For Health’s Sake Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, shared a health.news article on pecans and the nutrients found in them. The article reports that they are “packed with essential nutrients that help protect us against cardiovascular disease (CVD).” Besides being a potent source of antioxidants that can inhibit cancer, pecans also “contain essential fatty acids, at least 17 different vitamins and minerals, and various phenols and phytosterols.” In fact pecans are packed with vitamins, like A, and all the Bs, except 7 and 12. You can even get vitamin K by consuming pecans, which also contain minerals, like calcium, phosphorus and potassium, all the way to zinc. Some of us may have even learned that although referred to as nuts, pecans (like walnuts and almonds) are actually drupes, like cherries, peaches and plums. Maybe it’s because pecans are related to walnuts that makes them work together so well in dishes, like walnut oak burgers and spaghetti sauce. Throw a handful into your recipe, even though they aren’t on the list of ingredients, and see for yourself. (For additional details, please listen to the recording.)

Words of Encouragement
Mark 13:11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
John 6:47 Verily, verily I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. (Read also DA 388.1.)
