Worship: The Trysting Place / Wellness: Meals Over Pills to Prevent Diabetes

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  The trysting place is one translation for the holy place in the sanctuary. The trysting place is “a place where lovers meet to make engagement for marriage.” (Read more below.)

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says, “Resist the urge to take a pill.” Instead of a pill for diabetes, eat a total plant-based diet. Especially eat foods that contain chromium, like broccoli, barley, oats, grapes, oranges, potatoes.  He says, “We need to focus on education, not medication.” Diet is either the prevention or the problem, and diet is the cure. Diabetes is thought to be caused by eating too much sugar. In reality, says Pastor Flemons, it is caused by eating too much fat and toxins (typically in animal products). Fats and toxins clog the body’s insulin receptors, which then prevents sugar or glucose from entering inside the cell to create energy. Instead, the sugar remains in the bloodstream, resulting in elevated sugar levels in the blood: hyperglycemia. Eating sugar simply exacerbates the problem. Words of Encouragement

2 Corinthians 12:8, 9  For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

2 Corinthians 12:10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. (Read also Gospel Workers 1892, p. 441.2.)

For Heaven’s Sake…

“In some countries, the engagement is regarded just as sacred and binding as the marriage itself.” This is a fitting image for “the holy place, where we spend our entire Christian life, the place where we grow up into Christ . . .weaving the garment of righteousness, the garment of ‘fine linen (or silk, Eze. 16:110) . . .our wedding garment, that we may be ready to be accepted as the bride of the Lamb. Rev. 19:7,8.”

“By the wedding garment . . . is represented the pure, spotless character which Christ’s true followers will possess. To the church it is given ‘that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white,’ ‘not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing.’ Revelation 19:8; Ephesians 5:27. The fine linen, says the Scripture, ‘is the righteousness of saints.’ Revelation 19:8. It is the righteousness of Christ, His own unblemished character, that through faith is imparted to all who receive Him as their personal Saviour. “{COL 310.3}

“It is while men are still dwelling upon the earth that the work of investigative judgment takes place in the courts of heaven. The lives of all His professed followers pass in review before God. All are examined according to the record of the books of heaven, and according to his deeds the destiny of each is forever fixed.” {COL 310.2}
