Worship: Time of Jacob’s Trouble / Wellness: A Rare Breed, Dr. Rachel, MD

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  There is a small time of trouble and a great time of trouble, also known as the time of Jacob’s trouble. They both occur before Jesus returns. Pastor Flemons says that the little time of trouble officially begins and is more fully catapulted as the national Sunday law is enacted. The time of Jacob’s trouble will officially begin when the penalty of death will be law against those who refuse to honor the Sunday law as sacred. By the time of Jacob’s trouble, every human case will have been decided for eternal life or eternal death.

During this time the people of God will have no Mediator in Heaven, for Jesus will have ended His ministry of intercession before the throne. He will have said, “It is done.” The people of God will have been sealed as overcomers. “They have received ‘the latter rain,’ ‘the refreshing from the presence of the Lord,’ and they are prepared for the trying hour before them.”

Wickedness, without restraint, will be released. The Holy Spirit of God will have been withdrawn. There will be a time of trouble such as the world has never seen.

[For additional details, please read Daniel 12:1; Revelation 22:11; and “The Time of Trouble” in the Great Controversy, by Ellen G. White, Chapter 39. Also listen to the recording, which includes Pastor Flemons, singing the Scripture song Jeremiah 30:7.]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, introduced Dr. Rachel Agard, a medical doctor who treasures the Word of God and His method of healing: diet, lifestyle and natural remedies. That Dr. Rachel fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a doctor is no surprise to anyone who knew her. What was a surprise to even her is the focus of her practice: natural medicine, known in some circles as medical ministry. Yet, it is very fitting and probably should have come as no surprise. Even as child, she somehow followed the health message and refused to eat meat, a known source of disease among practitioners of natural medicine.

Now the health message is central to her ministry among the highest and the lowest. As a result, in only seven days a wheelchair-bound client walked, using only the aid of a walker. Daily, she had also exposed the high profile person to the writings of Ellen G. White, the servant of the LORD. “Diet and Spirituality” is one of her recommended readings, she says. It is the second chapter in the book Counsels on Diet and Foods, by Ellen White. Dr. Rachel says that as diet affects the chemistry of our brain it also affects our spirituality.

She advises that when we do what we know is right, then God will work miracles.

(For further details, listen to the recording and hear her tell her own story.)

Sharing Time  Hear Pastor Flemons respond to a question regarding the sealing of God’s people, relative to the time of trouble. Hear questions and comments directed to Dr. Rachel.

Special Prayer  Please include in your prayers today call-in listener 8329. Dr. Rachel asked that we pray for a fellow doctor, who is suffering with cancer and in pain, but who refuses to change so that he can be naturally cured. Pray for his salvation and for her personal and professional future.

Pray also for those undergoing surgery today and all grieving families (especially spouses). Pray for those fighting for their lives and against depression. Also pray for people living in areas of extreme heat and in those areas at risk of being destroyed by hurricanes and tornadoes and other natural disasters.

Remember to continue praying for the entire TOR broadcast family, that GOD will be free to bless us in the way that HE really wants to in 2018. Thank you!

Words of Encouragement

Daniel 9:16-17  Lord, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us. Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord’s sake.

Psalm 99:1-3  The Lord reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth between the cherubims; let the earth be moved. The Lord is great in Zion; and he is high above all the people. Let them praise thy great and terrible name; for it is holy. (Also read MH 438.)
