Worship: REJECTED! Christ’s Comings Not Packaged as Expected / Wellness: Surviving Air Travel

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  The Jews expected the Messiah to come in pomp and circumstance to deliver them from Roman rule and set up a glorious earthly kingdom. But Jesus covered His glory in the poverty of humanity and came to deliver the world, including the Romans, from Satan’s rule. He came to offer them eternal salvation through the principles of the kingdom of grace. They were not interested in the weightier issues of the heart. But the heart was and is the focus of Christ.

Many Christians today expect Jesus to quietly come and secretly rapture them from this world. But the Bible (in Revelation 1:7) clearly states that every eye will see Him come in the clouds. Jesus Himself said, “And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory” (Mark 13:26). He also said, “When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory.” Paul says He will come with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and the sound of God’s trumpet.

In both instances, the Bible is clear about His coming, but the problem was and is misinterpreted prophecies and omitting the weightier matters of the heart.

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, provided a few air travel tips for those who embrace the REFRESHING Way lifestyle.  (1) You can stay healthy by taking your own foods, even though you cannot take liquids. Carry a basic trail mix without sweets. When you must purchase at the airport, seek vegan dishes. But be careful of vegan burgers in white bread buns, which are constipating and served with condiments that contain eggs. (2) Walk through the airport whenever possible. Nevertheless, to avoid stress, please take advantage of wheelchair services from one gate to the other. (3) Take a pass on the free sodas and drink water. (4) Before you leave, purchase the travel size alcohol spray to sanitize toilet seats and use the seat covers. Do not hold your urine and bowels. (5) Be aware of time zone changes so that you can be alert to opportunities for resting your body. (6) Stay prayerful with worshipful music and the Word. (7) Discern opportunities to enhance the worship and wellness of others. In giving to others, you will be blessed.

(For further details, listen to the recording and watch Pastor Flemons in the 7-minute video, “The Whiter the Bread the Sooner You’re Dead.”)
