Worship: The Ark of Safety / Wellness: Herbs for Epileptic Seizures

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  The Ark of the Covenant, was the place of safekeeping, God’s treasure chest, bearing the Ten Commandments. Like Noah’s ark and the ark of baby Moses, it was an ark of safety. It was kept in the Most Holy Place of the sanctuary in a chest made with specific orders, which included shittim wood overlaid with pure gold, inside and out. Its lid was called “the mercy seat, a symbol of the seat, or throne,” of God. “This was the safest place in all the universe, and shows how supremely sacred Heaven regards the law of God, His fundamental law, the constitution of His universal government,” “His special treasure.”

Shittim wood is the thorny acacia of the Jordan valley and Sinai desert wilderness. This is the same wood in which “‘appeared the Angel of the covenant to Moses in the burning bush at Horeb, to bless man, and out of this wood was formed the ark of the covenant, the typical source of his blessing.’ And the source of our blessing and our eternal safety is in obedience to the law that was enclosed within it.” PTG

As it was in the days of Noah, so is it now. There were only two classes of people: the righteous and the wicked. There was only one ark of safety. The obedient went into it and was saved. The ark of safety is where those obedient to the unadulterated Law of God can freely exist. It is not an organization or a physical building. The church is an ark of safety only as God’s people are safe in obeying the Law of God, says Pastor Flemons. There is no safety in disobedience, regardless of the place or organization or church.

[For additional details, please read Exodus 34:28; Hebrews 9:24; Exodus 25:9-18; as well as “The Ark of the Covenant,” “An Ark, a Place of Safety,” and “The Ark, God’s ‘Treasure Chest'” in Path to the Throne of God, by Sarah Elizabeth Peck. Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that epileptic seizures can be helped naturally by using herbs that are calming. The best herb is “a wonderful tranquilizer” that he says is now an endangered species; but it can be purchased online at WarnerHerbs.com. That herb is called Lady’s Slipper. Widely used by Native Americans as a natural tranquilizer and nerve tonic, Lady’s Slipper is a member of the orchid family, which has become rare to spot in the wild anymore. Pastor Flemons advises purchasing the liquid extract.

TOR has two calming formulas that are excellent not only for epilepsy but also for depression and anxiety, as they keep the seratonin and GABA levels normal in the brain. PainX-StressY-SleepZzzz comes as both a tea and a tonic, containing Valerian Root, White Willow Bark, Peach Leaves, Feverfew, Scullcap, and SteviaTOR’s Happiness Tea / Tonic contains St John’s Wort, Kava Kava, Ginkgo Biloba, Gotu Kola, and Stevia.

Hemp oil is great for traumatic seizures, he says. And it does not contain THC, the mind-altering element that should be avoided. Hemp oil helps calm the firing of nerves.

Decreasing sodium consumption also helps lessen the firing of nerves, says Pastor Flemons. You can decrease sodium consumption by simply adopting a total plant-based diet, avoiding all animal products, and by drinking lots of water. In fact, he recommends following the REFRESHING Way lifestyle that embeds all of the eight laws of health, plus two.  Rely on God. Eat healthy. Fresh air. Rest. Exercise. Self-control. H2O (drink water). In the sun. Never give up. Give to others.

“You can overcome epilepsy the REFRESHING Way,” says Pastor Flemons.
